Poehling centering Frolik and Perry. He’ll get a lot of ice time. Not a bad opportunity for him.

Well, I retract what I wrote: he is not finished. Definitely an improvement over the Miller Barbers of this world. Scandella is not a scandalously wrong acquisition either. 😆 Both additions won’t probably be enough to salvage the season, but they haven’t cost much. We’ll have to wait another year, I am afraid...

I hate that kind of move too. In my view, Kovalchuk is finished. Money wasted.

On Overdrive (TSN), they clearly said that he wasn’t playing a lot lately. McKenzie did say that Buffalo tried to trade him from the start of the season. They felt that they were overcrowded on defense and wanted to go with younger players. His salary didn’t help obviously.

Am I mistaken or did I hear on TSN that Scandella was a regular in the press box? If so, I am not sure that he will be much of an upgrade over Kulak or Riley.

I like the way Poehling is playing. Very mature. He just needs better linemates. He’ll get the opportunity.

KK looks very good so far. Shooting, passing, very dynamic.

Four shots on reception. One from his left side (he shoots right). Nobody close to that kind of hand-eye coordination in the line-up. Very few in the NHL IMO. Very impressive.

I wasn’t impressed in his first outing. Let’s be realistic: we won’t make the playoffs if the backup goalie doesn’t win his share of games.

Kinkaid 0-2 so far. Tough start. Let’s hope he’ll do better.

Too many penalties again. Having said that, I was not impressed at all by Kinkaid. He should have stopped Eichel first goal. He is too slow to to move laterally. Doesn’t venture out of his goal. It doesn’t help a defensive corp used to work with Price. It’s just a first game and he might get better. I hope so anyway.

I fully share the general pessimistic view expressed here. For me too MB should not be our GM anymore. He has failed to improve the team. He has no methods, nobody can look at what he has done so far and understand what is his plan, and -- worse -- if he has one.
I am so disappointed by the way we lost to the Rangers, and by the lack of potential that I see in our farm system, that I truly believe that next season will be the beginning of a long stretch of really bad seasons. My prediction is that we are at risk of being eliminated from the Stanley Cup series for a long time. It's as bad as that.

Plex looks a lot better playing less minutes, against less capable opponents. 6 M$ for a 3rd line centre is definitely too much, but at least he is doing a good job with new responsibilities.
On the other hand, I don't see what Therrien will do with DD...

Anybody watching the team knows that KK’s shot is awesome. He just has to use it more often
