  1. You kinda get the feeling that if DD *doesn't* score tonight, he may not again this season!
  2. Tell me that wasn't a natural hat for Pat(ches)
  3. Why is it that we can only have one line going at a time? There's enough talent out there, so why can't the other lines produce regularly as well? Pax good stuff. DD - if that was DD and not someone wearing his shirt - good stuff. EDIT: At least Eller and Chuck still make things happen, even if they can't bury it as much as they perhaps should.
  4. He hit the net. There was no way to see if it was at the opponent.
  5. And the French media goes wild... I mean, ET LE BUT! (Admittedly, DD is playing with far more confidence tonight.) Called back with the skate? Nice to see Patch go to the net regardless.
  6. I don't generally take issue with what you have to say but... Really? Subban threw the stick when he looked at the ref and saw no call. If gets a call for that, I support the suspension he takes when he berates the ref for blatant favouritism - or whatever term he chooses to use.
  7. Nice slew foot on Subban. In front of the ref. Good call, sir, good call.
  8. Gio's offside was totally on Plex who zagged at the line when everyone was on a high speed rush.
  9. Wow. Patches did a DD. Top of the slot, no coverage, and..... passsssssssss
  10. Just to relieve a little of the "stupid self-inflicted Montreal pressure," some kid named Crosby has been comparably slumping as well and the lines were heavily juggled in Pittsburgh. So you know, maybe tone down a little of the Montreal Stupids. EDIT: Just to be clear - we ALL have them to a degree. This isn't an indictment, merely an unemotional observation.
  11. I find myself watching more Toronto TV rather than Habs games lately because the former is SO much more amusing.
  12. You remember in the movie The Lion King when the monkey whacked Simba in the head with the stick? "It does not matter, it's in the past." We can go round and round and on and on about trading Patrick Roy for parts etc, etc, etc, ad nausea, but... It does not matter. It's in the past.
  13. I love how DD goes to the top of the slot, sees the empty shooting lane, then curls into coverage and loses the puck. Maybe that's a planned play; throw the opposition off and keep them guessing!
  14. My wife and I just got back to watching Arrow (early season 1). I have to say, thus far it's pretty well put together.
  15. I did see DD there. Can't say I know why. Just another in his seemingly never-ending chances. Touched by an angel, he is. And Cube for that matter, since Murray is benched.
  16. I'm sorry what what? DD scores a shootout goal and gets his spot back sending Brière - who was playing much better and *smarter* hockey to the fourth line? And hubba-huh, Murray is sitting? As opposed to Cube or Diaz? Really? I loves me a smaller, softer defence rather than one with some major muscle. Yes, gives me more of that sap-sauce. I will freely admit that some of the things that Therrien has done since coming back have been great - the way he's developing the kids, for instance. But some of his moves are just mind-bogglingly nutty.
  17. I saw long stretches of the game, here's what I saw: DD looks better. That's not saying a whole lot, though. Briere looks better. In this case, though, he really does look better. He has something over DD that I can't quite put my finger on - I've been searching for an appropriate term all night, but I can't think of one. Confident slickness. He looks so much smarter out there. Markov. Just think of those seasons where he was lost to us. Where *could* we have been with him fully healthy? The more he plays this season, the more I look at Subban and think wow, you still have a ways to go, son. Markov will surely be overlooked for the more flashy defenders, but the more the season goes on, the more Markov looks absolutely elite. His poise has increased season to season and this year he looks... well honestly he looks like a Lidstrom-type defender you want anchoring your back line until he retires. Rumours have Montreal getting ready to talk with Diaz. If this is over Markov, this is a calamitous mistake. Markov MUST be a priority. I'd sign him a full three years more and wouldn't worry about it at all. And he's going to make a similar sum to what he's making now, which will be tough, but essential. Nice to see Eller starting to be rewarded again. There are some who say he wasn't getting points so therefore was irrelevant recently, but I'd counter by saying he was still making more chances than ever before but he was playing against better opposition talent. He's adjusting and it looks great. Galchenyuk. So here's the thing, when the other kids weren't able to find points quite as much, who kept finding a way on to the scoresheet? Now he's on track for a 60+ point season, and I don't think anyone would disagree that he's still getting better. 'Nuff said.
  18. Agreed. This goal is like kissing your sister on the cheek at Christmas.
