  1. Never. You surely know Montreal history! Just as the team gets healthy, the next heavy wave of injuries happens. Sorry guys, just beating Cuke to the draw.
  2. Wow, no one mentioned the tongue-in-cheek cheer for DD when he skated at the puck early in the first. LOLOL!!
  3. Disappointed for Stamkos. I love the way he plays... and scores.
  4. I haven't looked at the stats, but isn't that better than what they're doing right now? No, can't be. Please Gods of the Forum that can't be.
  5. I'm stoked with the mayor calling out DD. I suspect he may not get benched next game based on that tweet because what better way to exert revenge than having the game of your life after something so public and humiliating.
  6. Oh if ONLY the PPG line would produce at that rate, and ironic that the EGG line rarely lays one. Such misnamed lines!
  7. Bournival is like Courtnall with a little more own-zone presence.
  8. Had he not had the injury to his knee in his draft year, it's quite possible he would have been ranked #1 OA. Montreal took something of a chance considering the injury. Though sometimes when you swing for the fences, you send it into the bay.
  9. I think Neech talks to his puppet-hand Desharnais like that...
  10. I must admit, I haven't seen the game yet, but from what I can see here, Gally had a great game. What confuses me is that he apparently had a bad game last time out. Hubba-huh? Sure, he got four penalties, but he was also the best attacker Montreal had by a country mile. So I say again, Hubba-huh? Taking penalties does not a bad game make, friends, Romans, countrymen, and Snuffleupagus. If it did, then there are a LOT of players throughout the years who played some really, really bad games despite being the best player on the ice Gordie Howe. You know, that old chestnut. Sorry lads and... well lads (do we have lasses?) Gally didn't have a bad game last time out, he had a very strong game. He just took penalties. Seriously, though, why are we always looking to be critical? He *was* the best player on the ice last game for the Habs, and yet because of the PIMs we've decided this was a "bounce back" game? Habs fans go way WAY too far.
  11. Dumont continues the Habs policy of continuing to give different players a shot at the NHL. Look what they did last season with the defence: Tinordi, Beaulieu, Pateryn... they all had a short shot, and were sent back to develop those skills that needed work at the NHL level. IMO, this continues to be fantastic asset management. Kids keep getting a shot to show, and then are sent to develop. Given a taste (call it a carrot) and then asked to improve. Then there are guys like Bournival who make it impossible for the staff to send him down. That's the goal. Personally, I think Leblanc was close in his last try with the big club. I love this development strategy.
  12. Price, because we can't ride Budaj for more than 10-15 before we start seeing too many holes. Markov, because he's the experience that Subban still needs - and once again he's taking good players and is making them better. Subban's best hockey ever? Beside Markov. Subban, because stud defenders are impossible to find. Also because he's severely underrated defensively. Plekanec, because: glue. Gallagher, because consistency. Having said that, I don't disagree with Patches and the reasons for having him over Gally would also be very compelling. I'm not against anyone listing Emelin either, since, well, when did he go down with the injury and how have we done since then? I think there could also be compelling arguments made for Eller, Galchenyuk, and Gionta - though I don't think they'd be compelling enough for me to agree. Finally, if someone said Prust, I could see the logic. Yeah, sorry. I said Lind and Witehall. Game, set, and match. Bienvenue la visite.
  13. Well, look at that. Another player scoring his first NHL goal against the Habs.
  14. Okay, the bright side of things thus far: 1. Subban has been stellar. 2. Markov has been better than Subban. 2b and this beside the idiotic +/- stat where both are negative. 3. Gallagher has been... everywhere 4. For long, long stretches, we've been the better team. We're losing not because we aren't good enough, but rather because Ottawa has taken full advantage of mistakes - full credit to them It's easy to get down - losses can do that, but it's not nearly as bad as this thread might seem. In fact, it feels like it should be 8-0 reading this, where it's only 3-1 with two picture perfect precise shots the difference. I think the fire alarm is going off. Interesting that it started when Gally won the puck at the side of Lehner's crease and almost poked it home. Cube. Moronic play. Didn't Get The Puck Deep
  15. Icing against Montreal, called the instant it touches the red line. Icing against Ottawa - at least a couple of times tonight - rings the boards and then there's a whistle. You know, just a little extra time for the team playing against the Habs to relax. GAWD. Seriously. It could only be more blatant if Bettman was out there saying no no no, they can't win!
  16. Blatant interference on Eller. Like, tossing him over your shoulder when he never touched the puck interference. I mean, come on. Marginal calls I can at least understand missing, but that was not much difference than taking a gun out of your hockey pants and shooting someone. Seriously. Brian Burke was waxing so poetical about NHL reffing and saying it was the best in any pro sport but it's farcical. Absolutely embarrassing. It's SO hard to watch.
  17. Chris Neil. A player I've coveted forever. A Donald S Cherry type player. Takes a shot in the face and skates himself off rather than have a stretcher pull him off. He can play on any line, has some actual skill, and is a genuinely good guy off the ice (I know, I've met him). I even asked him when he was coming to the end of his last contract if he could please, please consider Montreal. Sadly... And there's Gally winning pucks all over the ice again.
  18. Gotta give Pax a break - he's coming back from injury. I would never EVER bench Gallagher tonight. No matter now many penalties he takes. If only his effort could rub off on his teammates, we'd be winning this game.
  19. I hate to be the dissenting voice, but Gally's second penalty was not a dive and was a really bad penalty. Watching the replay - that stick caught Michalek just so and he lost his footing; it happens. Gally shouldn't have made that bout du baton attempt in the attacking third.
  20. And there it is. After all the shit missed called against the Sens, he gets called for that
  21. This is he worst I've seen in a while. I'm just waiting for the easy call against Montreal as well. And it's not even Tim peel!
  22. Tremendous job of not calling any penalties on the Sens grabbing and hauling the Habs so far.
