It will be interesting to watch the Rangers juggle the books on this one. They're already up near the cap, and will probably have to shed salary to make it fit. Plus, I guess that means they won't be re-signing Shanahan, unless he comes real cheap. I wonder if Shanny would entertain an offer from the Canadiens. He'd be a great plan "B".

I think it's going to be against Carcillo of the Coyotes, because the two were traded for one another two seasons ago at the trade deadline. Time to prove who won that deal. As far as nicknames, I like "Furious George" or "Blackjack Laraque".

Don't forget Wyman, who should be pencilled in ahead of Glumac, Flinn, etc...... And what about Serge Aubin? With his size, he should get agood look as well.

In my opinion, if we don't get Mats, the smartest thing to do would be to re-structure Andrei Kostitsyn's contract to a front-end loaded deal, while we still have the luxury of cap space. Andrei just signed on for 10 mil (approx.) over three years, however, according to media sources, the moola is evenly distributed over the three years of the contract. Montreal should offer to pay him 6 mil of it this season, 3 next and 1 in the final year. We can afford it now, and the strategy will pay dividends in the future in terms of cap space. And I'm pretty sure Andrei wouldn't complain either. Just my two cents.

I think he will ending up signing with Montreal.........eventually. Mats is just dragging it out as long as possible to lengthen his vacation time.
