  1. I find that most calls on most nights to both sides are a little bit sketchy. Let's just remove the refs and instead use a magic 8 ball with a random player and random penalty. I think it would serve the same purpose and no one can argue the call because it's random.
  2. Hello all! It's been a long time since I have been on this forum. I have read and followed for quite a while and want to get back to discussing jabs with knowledgeable fans. That being said I always enjoy the habs bruins games and the intensity they typically bring. Glad price is back as well!
  3. I wouldn't mind the Devils, or anyone for that matter. Tonight shows nothing, except what we look like without any puck supoprt, lack of break out passes, and lack of physical game. Was there even a hit in the game? I don't remember any! We'll bounce back anyway, it had nothing to do with Brodeur. Playoff excited!!! :hlogo:
  4. ROFL !! Best story I've heard yet! DIE HARD FOR SURE
  5. I have never seen a goalie with so many technical faults and to be considered a starter! At first I thought Theo was back, then I realized, Theo has a better technical game. OUCH!!! Just a couple of the things I noticed: 1) Stance was way too wide, can't move that way! 2) Balance, nuff said 3) Positioning, shot goes off the end boards you kinda think the first step is to get set up for where the puck is going.... that is if you want to stop it 4) Following the puck into the body and around the rink!! 5) Recovery Just a few, there are many more that we noticed, but I don't want to write an essay. In short, Aebi has some work to do, I do hope it was nerves though. I mean following the Huet show on a new team is really tough. We have found that we do not have a platoon system, we have a #1 and a backup: Huet and Aebi respectively at least not for now. So on the plus, MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY, MMMMOOOONNNNNEEEEYYYYYYYYY!!!! (Think of the apprentice!!) True true, there was more than just goaltending issues tonight. The bum system is actually catchy!! But where does Kovy fit?? Another misfit for sure, lots of stick skill, but not enough brains to pull it off!!
  6. I am not saying that we have no trade bait. I am saying that: 1) We want to keep MOST of the bait we have 2) Even if a trade happened to alleviate us of Zeds, or Sunny, or Bulis, it isn't going to get us a cup and probably won't get us any closer anyway. Its going to be like a Kovy thing, we make a trade and wow weeeee we are all going to go nuts and win the cup!!!! When in reality, it won't happen b/c of trade and they'll probably slump into the hole like the rest of the gang!
  7. Man oh man! Trading Theo. This truly must be fantasy land for lots of habs fans. THEO HAS ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NO TRADE VALUE!!!! Whether we like it or not, we are stuck with him. I think instead of looking for the HOLY SAVIOUR OF HOCKEY to come our way in exchange for Theo and other old used washed up rags called players, we need to really suck it up. Its not EASports, its reality. We need to question what caused Theo to lose his confidence. Is that not the root of the issue? This team has issues and rebuilding isn't fun, but if after 13 years of rebuilding, we never got it right anywhere down the line, then simply put, continue to rebuild. There is no other option and the problems stem deeper than Theo as well. So simply put, a trade will not get us the cup, a series of smart trades may, but who in their right mind wants to trade with us!? In order for a trade to occur there must be something of VALUE for BOTH SIDES!!! We have NO VALUE!! Or at least where we have value thats what we want to keep. I am not even going to touch on Theo's outrageous salary, I mean you would think it was self-evident why no one would bite, but I guess not. No trade is going to save us, look at the Kovy trade, man was that a joke or what. How many people thought wow, we have a star player... Where because I haven't seen one on our team yet!!! Lets just PLEASE put the trade talk to rest and just ride this wave out, PLEASE!!!
  8. I don't like making predictions. I am always scared to say the habs will win and feel better if I think they won't. That way I am pleasently surprised. But my BAD predictions of the habs losing usually are right. Here's hoping for a solid team effort from the net out!! Go Habs Go!!!
  9. It is true. I know and feel we have a good team. Even at the beginning of the season we were winning, but I wasn't too happy, b/c I knew we could still do better. Its a young team and time will help heal all wounds. Gainey has been patient and still is. I think b/c of it we will be a better team. Every season, the same thing, call for a trade, call for a trade and where has that got us? Nowhere. Montreal is not easy playing for nor are habs fans (some of them at least). You are so right in the idea that it is a team!! Time to come together and work hard for each other and stop looking for a "saviour", an individual to carry the habs ALONE and start covering each other's asses!! Not one single person is to blame for this slide and not ONE SINGLE PERSON WILL GET US OUT OF IT. We lose as a team and we win as a team!
  10. Man, that hurts and pisses me off. Its all true, but to mock us like that!!! Something needs to happen. I hate it when I am always right when I say the habs will lose, but to lose like that. When the other team makes bets on much you are going to suck, you know we lost tons of respect and definitely are sitting on the bottom. Maybe not with Pittsburg and the likes, but we aren't that far off. Ouch, my moral as a Habs fan has just gone down as much as it can. They are and will always be my team through thick and thin, but these past few years, and especially now are real trying times. DIE HARDS its time to stand out! Its time to really do what we can to help our team, and thats by being DIE HARDS and give the team some room to breath and support no matter what and no matter how hard!! Especially after those disgraceful comments from the Sens. I used to like them and now, I am not sure anymore, b/c my Habs come first! The team needs all the support we can give b/c a trade is not going to happen until we get better. Gainey knows it, we should too. So lets cheer loud and stand tall!! GO HABS GO!!! :hlogo:
  11. Look, Theo isn't doing the job he is getting apid to do. WHat I mean by that is he isn't making spectacular saves all the time. But lets face it, the team in front of him sucks period. Gainey needs to improve the core, and Theo needs to improve his play. Besides his trade value is nothing, what else can Gainey do other than be patient and fix the most obvious probelms like everything else!!?
  12. umpalumpa55, you are totatlly right. The guys are low on confidence no matter how you look at it. Its only been three games under Gainey and it takes time to adapt and shake off the horrible stuff the julien regime did to the team. We are starting to see some positives already, which is great b/c its only the start and there is so much more on the way. Gainey has taught me at least that patience is a great virtue and will totally help this team and take some pressure off these guys. Thats extremely important b/c when these guys relax their grip on their stick, and actually want to put in the effort without being too conservative then the puck will bounce their way!! You need to allow players to be creative. That combo will see these habs excel.
  13. Van will beat Cal ==> Cal had their chance to seal the deal at home and lost, its Van's mometum now!! Ott will beat Tor ==> Just a hunch here. As long as they can score once on Belfour they'll win. HE seems to have the confidence of bull, but after that one goal he lets in, he falls!!! Mon will beat Bos ==> AS long as MOntreal plays the way they have been for the past two games they'll win. Raycroft looks real shaky and the confidence has got to go to the habs; however, if the habs get over confident, they'll lose. But I am betting on that they will not let it go to their heads. I thnk CJ has more control over his guys than that!!! Go habs Go!!!!
  14. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Habsfan69 did you reasd some of the comments people made about the article?!! I know that CBC is bias and it pisses me off, but I can get used to them being against the habs. Its childish and worst of all it just means that broadcasting in Canada is simply turning their back on their hockey roots!! Oh well, right? I find it funny how Cherry can say he is a Toronto fan based on the fact that he lives in Toronto. I am a habs fan and I lived most of my life two hours south east of Thunder BAy and now I go to u of A in Edmonton and go home for the summer in Airdrie!! Location means nothing!!! Its where you heart is. AS well it has nothing to do with numbers. Look at what the NHL has become after it started with a minority. Its not qunatity its quality. Anyway, just thought it was funny to see what people on the forum had to say!! Habs 4 ever!!!!
  15. Man I am so stoked about this game. No predictions from me, but its going to be a hell of a game!! I am so excited to see Perreault on the second line:clap: He deserves it!! Lets go and kick some bruin ass!!!!! :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo:
  16. Komi's size was a great asset and he did what most other players hadn't done through the series, PLAYED IT SIMPLE. He had a strong performance with the exception that the lone goal scored by the bruins was b/c Komi did not take his position or his man and the tripping over Theo thing. Otherwise I was happy and he could have done so much worse!! I hope he builds on h is momentum :ghg::ghg:
  17. I find it interesting to see people who were once so quiet about Kovalev now start to speak up!! Its all in the numbers isn't it?!! If he's got 'em protect him right? Numbers to me mean nothing!! Gretzky's numbers, Jagr's numbers, Lindros' numbers... You get the picture. He is producing numbers, but he still scares the crap out of me. He is starting to melt into a position, but it is happening slow. I am all for patience and I am happy to see that Kovy has changed slightly. I have absolutely no concern for his offensive abilities, with the exception of passing. Which reminded me of some of his attempted passes. It shows he's new at this whole passing the puck thing, but he has to start somewhere and I can wait as long as needed as long as he is willing to play a team sport. I know that we did not get him for a defensive aspect of the game, but he could at least try to take up some space after his turnovers. He's trying and you can see that. I feel that he is a liability as well as a blessing at times. A double-edged sword which needs to be used with absolute caution. Too much trust and your cut, not enough and your cut. He's that type of player, good, but needs to be coddled in a sense. From the first few games of the series I wanted him out, but he has gotten better, but once again, lets not put all our eggs into one basket here. He could get better or worse, with him you never know. I say not to ridicule him, but he still hasn't proven his reliability on both ends of the ice!!! It is legitimate for an arguement either way, but its too early to jump on a positive. From what I see, he has been a defensive problem for us for a while now and tonight was the first time he did OK in that aspect. So to jump on the Kovy bashers I think is too premature. Unfortunately in this political game the suspects or well victims are always guilty until proven innocent. Yes its a shame, but is hockey politics!! I will admit I was getting frustrated with Kovy's playing b/c I didn't see any improvement, but tonight showed me that he is able to learn a new type of hockey - the THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ICE AND SKATING TO DEFEND YOUR OWN ZONE IS A GOOD THING type hockey. He showed me he can do it, but can he do it consistantly?? The question only time and patience can answer!!
  18. Its true!! Zednik has been making things happen, but his luck just isn't going right now. It will eventually break and he will score... unfortunately we just don't know when!!! Zednik is a great player and when he goes streaming in from the blueline with his low stance and flashing speed and agility, you just know Raycroft notices and to know the thoughts going through his mind would be priceless. And I am sure that it would shock all Zed haters!! IMO when Zed gets his game going like a freight train, he becomes twice the man of Kovy... mostly because he passes!!!! lol But seriously, Zeds is very streaky and inconsistant, but he is still pretty young and when he finds himself, just sit back and enjoy the ride!!!! :hlogo: :hlogo:
  19. For sure it will help Komi!!! I was actually pretty excited to know that Komi is playing. I just think.... well okay I can't think, but this is so cool!!!!!! :ghg:
  20. Too quick to blame?!!! For the past eleven years I have seen nothing but choking and struggling from this team. Something is really wrong, because ut doesn't matter who is behind the bench or who is the GM we are getting ripped off with our trades and our players are working hard and choking. Something is missing, and if you haven't noticed one game left, so that something we are missing needs to come fast. Like I said time and time again, not one person can be blamed for any of this. What we know: 1) Since Kovalev has arrived we have done nothing!!! His consistant inability to pass, which has lead to many turnovers. Sure he has scored, but defensively speaking, when he is on the ice we need four D and him to cover up for his blunders. Overall: Not worth a second chance or look or anything 2) Theo has choked, once again I might add. IF anyone remembers Theo did not do well two years ago until the Zednik incident, in which he decided to get back at them the best way he could. When he puts his mind to it he can do almost everything!!! However, that was the past, and now Theo is struggling and I bet you that it makes the D hold their sticks that much tighter. 3) The team plays a clumped game style which allows for easy clogging of the neutral zone by the oppositions forecheckers. This is why our PP sucks, they know that they just need to clog the one side of the ice and suddenly our man advantage doesn't add up. Watch next game b/c I doubt things will change and see that Boston will actually fork out usually three forecheckers on their PP!!!! Overall: There is more ice that we need to cover 4) I have seen so many bad pinches going on that my head is spinning!! The D needs to step back a bit more and not leave their partner and Theo out to dry. 5) We need to actually utilize Perreault, we seem to get burned tons on the faceoffs. 6) They dump the puck life a bunch of sissies!!! I mean are they are too scared to actually shot the freaking thing so that it can go all the way around the boards? 7) They are not pestering Raycroft half as much as they should be!! Enough said 8) The D leaves their position to chase the opposition around in their own zone like chickens with their heads cut off!! 9) Not so much of a problem as before, but Julien seems to think that working on the technical will yield little, b/c his answer to a loss is a line changeup!!! 10) The reffing sucks!! And I think that this is the most important, and not just to the habs but to all the teams. Players have no clue what they can do game in and game out!!! No doubt the fact that Kovy stopped skating lead to the OT winner, but that was a penalty. I have seen this in other series as well. If one thing I want changed for next year, its to actually get some f*&king refs that can actually follow the rule book, rather than making it up as they go, like a gameshow!! :nono: IMO after much thought, not much of this can be dealt with and will have to wait until after the golf course, but we need a spark and some bloody captaincy!!!! I don't know about you, but after the first game loss, Koivu looked like crap and during his interview I swear he put me to sleep!! We need someone to lead off the ice, we have Saks leading on the ice, but not off!!! I want killer back!! Oh and can anyone please tell me why the hell Koivu and Thornton were allowed back? I mean I have never seen anything like this and I was confused, as well as everyone that watched the game with me!! :ghg:
  21. The tying goal was not exactly Theo's fault, but he should have had it if he followed the basics: PADDLE DOWN SHAFT END FIRST!!! Try that and see how much more ice you can cover!!!! He was the last line and he forgot the basics and it went in. All I keep thinking is, stick down, stick down!!!! I am not questioning the breakaway goal, you can't. On breakaways the pressure is all on the goalie, but the tying goal I question!!!
  22. No one is questioning Jose about the breakaway goal!! Its all the other crap he's doing, its all the little screw ups that a small NHL butterfly goalie cannot afford to make. He is making them and no one is wanting to blame them b/c you want to live in the past. Well I have a little something for you to think about: TIME-SPACE ideology. It means that the place is the same, but the time must be different, so the place must also be slightly different to avoid a confrontation with yourself or other generations. Right now you are about ready to snap as you don't see where I am going with quantum physics. Theo did great two years ago, but a lot has changed and his past abilities cannot be taken into consideration for our immediate purposes. I don't think Jose is to hold the full blame, I personally think that Kovy holds the majority of it, and not just for the OT winner, but his other greedy selfish crap that doesn't belong on the ice. A change needs to be made and I feel Kovy and Theo should sit, but that would cause too much of an uproar to sit Kovy who has scored 3 goals for us, but people don't see and understand that many of the odd man rushes were created from Kovy's inability to see anyone on the ice other than himself!!! Watch the replays, the turnovers are KOvy's fault. He has done so much more harm than good and Theo is taking a lot of the blame. They are both to blame and I feel that its best if both sit, but realistically one of them should sit. Theo has potential, but realize he isn't Roy and he never will be!!! We need to cut him slack when needed but not be scared to bench him when needed either.
  23. Well I have to say that Theo is like a piece of paper under pressure, becomes blank and crumples!!! Theo is a butterfly goalie and he seems to have lost a few of the basic principles of goaltending. 1) Square off and know where the post is !!! Simple yes, but I have seen him turn his side way too often and lose where the post is. 2) When shots are low and there is traffic in front of the net, you put stick down shaft end first!! 3) Never squeeze knees together too early, it opens up much more room. It is better to not instinctively close knees, but instinctively put paddle down. When I practice, I make sure that my toes are as far apart as possible to cover more net and that the paddle is covering my five-hole. 4) As a butterfly goalie, when Theo comes out to challenge a shooter, he should be playing butterfly, not stand up Those are just a few things Theo has seemed to go blank on. Almost all the soft goals were scored because of those 4 things. The tying goal in Game 4, Garon would have stopped!! Now before you jump on me as a Theo basher, Garon has always dropped his shaft end first!!!! On that goal Theo did a few things wrong: 1) Blade end went down first after Theo had fallen and realized where the puck was 2) Squeezed legs way too early 3) Commited way too early 4) Was too far out of his crease to prevent any traffic problems ==> Refer back to 3) It is hard to say who do you blame, but for a fact, Theo butchered it when he was the last line of D left!!! No one has impressed me this series from the habs, INCLUDING the GREEDY BASTARD KOVY!! Since this is a Theo performance thing, I 'll save it for elsewhere. Theo can't be blamed for where the team is, but he is part of the reason!!!
  24. The lines from last night in Buffalo were okay. I really enjoyed seeing Kovy on the third line with limited time. I actually didn't snap as much as usual. His antics and brain cramps didn't happen as much. Bottom line, I would like to see Komi on the D for sure and I would like to see Perreault dressed, but that means poor Langden would be scratched, and I love this KOvy on the third thing. I think in playoffs we need to dress Langdon, he is a necessity, remember last time. Boston is cheap and we need him to stand up for our players to prevent some injuries from happening. I know, I want a lot, but it would be nice!! :ghg: :ghg: :hlogo: :hlogo:
