Look at it from another point of view. Here's a guy the GM calls "a reward" and the press called a "superstar". Other than two assists and an empty netter, he's done nothing so far. He does appear to be snakebitten but still...his job is to score and he's not doing that.

4-0 now. I thought Lalime sucked and the Senators were struggling. What the hell's going on? These last two games have been frustrating to watch. One point away from a playoff spot and if we win both we're a point ahead of Ottawa. Arrrgghh!

I can't imagine how bad it must be living in Toronto, considering it's pretty bad no matter where you live in Canada.

I've been searching Kazaa for a while and have yet to find the real song. Closest thing is a sound bite from a game. I did, however, get an awesome rock version, complete with the Habs goal horn. Better than the real song, IMO. [Edited on 2004/3/21 by =CH=]

The Habs are a storied franchise like the Yankees, they both lead their league in championships. I'm sure he didn't mean the Habs try to buy wins every year with obscene amounts of money.

I find the early edition of Sportscentral (on Sportsnet East) to be not that bad. On most nights, the Habs and Sens are the lead story! The Leafs aren't mentioned until 10, 15 minutes in.

Question: Who has the better post game show, CJAD or The Team? I usually listen to CJAD on the net. I've never heard The Team in Montreal.

Hmm ... Did the Habs give away some of their future for a rent a player past his prime or did they get a guy who will return to his Pittsburgh form and re-sign here next year? I'm sitting on the fence. I will say this ... is it ever weird to see the Habs TRADE a prospect and a pick for a good player. What a shock. Oh and to those saying the Habs finally have a star player, isn't Jose Theodore a star player? I consider him to be more valuable than Kovalev at the moment.

Nice to see Cherry making sense again. I listened to Thursday's game on the net and heard the boos loud and clear. It was completely unacceptable. If you're going to boo a player on your own team the entire game, why not just stay the hell home? I've never understood booing players each time they touch the puck, home or visitors. The visiting players could care less and it probably motivates them more. As for the home players, why try to distract a guy on your own team? I don't get it. It was a meaningless heat of the moment thing blown way out of proportion. Maybe cameras should be banned from practices from now on.

Apparently the Montreal players didn't pay attention to the Toronto media saying what a big game it was. That first period was brutal. Can't blame Garon at all. Claude wanted to give Theodore a rest. Back to back games Monday and Tuesday. I would start Garon Monday in New York but anyways... When the Habs finally did show up, a couple of bad breaks got in their way. Is it me or do they only have bad luck vs Toronto? Seems like it. First the quick whistle. I didn't even hear it. When HNIT showed the replay, promising sound, there was none. I thought the penalty on Brisbois that led to the 4th Toronto goal was a pretty cheap call (unless the TV cameras missed it and what they showed wasn't it). Amazing what the refs catch and what they miss, isn't it? Know why I hate Sundin so much? You don't notice him for the whole damn game, never hear his name. And then at the worst possible time he comes out of nowhere and scores a tap in or gets a fluke in the last few minutes that ends up being the game winner. At one point during the third period, I wasn't sure if he was even playing. Why do the Leaf fans at the Bell Centre sound louder than the entire 19,000 plus at the Air Canada Centre? Props to Craig Rivet for one of the best fights I've seen in a NHL game in a while. Props to the Habs for attempting to comeback. Unforturnately, you can't get away with showing up for only 25 minutes. In closing, I am sick of losing to Toronto. Maybe we aren't big rivals but I still hate them. I would love to see them play a home and home but that won't happen as long as Hockey Night in Toronto gets their way. Why not let TSN show a Friday game in Montreal and then let CBC show their precious Saturday game? Look what back to back games have done for other rivalries this season. Anyone else laugh when Ron MacLean said it was more like hockey day in Ontario because both Ottawa and Toronto won? Yo Ron, it's hockey day in Ontario EVERY Saturday. I agree with what puck7x said. Also, other than Brodeur and Turco, who else handles the puck well? Not many. Most of them give it away through out the season and it leads to scoring chances. I also like seeing goalies starting the rush, catching a team on a change, for example. I'll agree that goalies should be fair game outside of their crease. If this rule goes through, then I hope they at least give Dmen break with no touch icing. 3 points for a win is crazy. This isn't European soccer. How about no points for a tie or OT loss? Not enough points for wins isn't the problem, points for not winning is the problem. And how about doing something about weak division leaders being seeded in the top 3?

I thought the Habs looked a bit flat tonight. Maybe they played well in spurts but they didn't really buzz around Lalime often. He's been struggling lately. Obviously wasn't Theodore's best night but I thought Chara's goal hit a stick on the way in. So couldn't blame him for that. I agree with the poster that said Kilger's a waste of space. If the goalie touches it, it's a two minute penalty - The width of goalie pads will be reduced to 10 inches from the current limit of 12 inches; - The nets will be brought back to 10 feet from the back boards from the current 13 feet; - The tag-up offsides will be brought back; - AHL will try out three points being awarded for a victory in regulation time with NHL possibly going to that format in 2005-06 if it works well in the minors; that would also include two points for an overtime win, it may also include two points for a penalty shootout win. - The AHL will also be asked to try out the so-called "fat lines" of both blue-lines and the centre red line next season. But they will be 24 inches instead of the 36 inches tried out this year in the AHL. They're currently 12 inches wide in the NHL. There are also two changes that will go into effect as soon as this week, a clarification of the rule for the penalty shot and a clarification of the rule regarding goals scored when the net is slightly off - those goals will now count. I like everything except 3 points for a win and the goalie not playing the puck.

This week's Canadian city wants NHL team story from TSN.ca : Lawyer trying to bring NHL to Hamilton Canadian Press 2/4/2004 TORONTO (CP) - A Toronto lawyer is making another attempt to bring a National Hockey League team to Hamilton, city officials said. Richard Rodier, who represents HHC Acquisition Corp., will appear before a committee of Hamilton's city council Wednesday, with a proposal to take over the management of Copps Coliseum. City councillor Terry Whitehead said Rodier's plan is to acquire an NHL team, move it to the Coliseum and then take over operation of the arena. He added the city is interested in the idea but remains cautious. ``We are all approaching this cautiously and with lots of cynicism because we have been down this road before,'' Whitehead told the Globe and Mail. Whitehead is also the vice chairman of the current operator, city owned Hamilton Entertainment and Convention Facilities Inc. The city contributes about $2-million annually to HECFI.
