  1. Even if we had 35 shots on goal last time we was on the ice.
  2. Play Koivu at center but Perreault to take the faceoffs?
  3. Just read at spectors hockey that Atlanta is looking for a goal scoring forward. Heatly and Savard is out. The rumor says that they are shoping Hurme, Stefan or picks. Montreal, the team that doesn't score at all shouldn't have something to offer but... Atlanta is doing well. Kovalchuck is so hot that he sun seems cold. Heatly may be back soon and their future should looks bright. Donald Audette is a goal scorer. But he's not acting like one i Montreal. And maybe he would be back on track if he was traded to Atlanta. I mean, he had a great season last time he was in Atlanta. So if Montreal paid a major part of Audettes 3 million dollars maybe we could land one of Atlantas goaltenders. Pasi Nurminen or Jani Hurme. Why? I believe that Garon is good enough to be a no.1. Not this year but maybe next. And next season i foretell that the goaltender situation will be a bit different. Garon should have a high trading value. Hurme or Nurminen could be our backup and Garon could land us a goal scoring forward. Just a tought.
  4. I know what you're saying but the playmaker should be in the middle. But having Koivu on the wing could be the best solution. Forsbergs is doing great on the LW...
  5. And maybe that's where Koivu should be. On the line with Zednik and Ribs our opponent looks at Zednik. When Koivu is around he's the one they have to eye. I think that Zednik can feel it. That there's no fun at all to be the goal scorer in Montreal that doesn't score. Czerkawski felt it. And so did Berezin. I just hope that Montreal doesn't waste another one...
  6. Moment 22. Perreault is the best face-off guy in the leauge. But he's not a playmaker. Koivu is one of the better playmakers but we can't afford having Perreault on the wing really. I know it worked well with Gillmour but faceoffs are really important. Look what the best face-offs stats took Anaheim last year...
  7. 35 shots from the Habs and yet not a goal from our first line. I can't remember when Zednik had his last goal. But I know one thing. It's hard for a goal scorer in Montreal that doesn't score. Perreault had the goal. The only goal scorer in Montreal that can be trusted. Bring Koivu back or bring anyone that can score. We can't have it like this.
  8. If someone is untouchable Theodore is. Theodore is the one this team should be built around. He's young and our only big star. Come on! He's a former Hart winner! And he is on our team. I'm starting a club. WEYDDTT. - What ever you do, don't trade Theo.
  9. It's a shame. I think of Markov as one of the eastern conference top 20 defensemen. So, even if he hasn't played at his best he should be a candidate.
  10. I'm proud too. But I have to admit that I'm a bit concerned about the goal-scoring.
  11. If we don't see a goal tonight I think Mr. Gainey will use his phone. Maybe he will call Mr Gillette. And maybe Mr. Gillette will give him what he needs... - A lawyer who can make the Czerkawski deal undone.
  12. Hold it. After 10 game we have still won 5. And that's more than I'd expect. We need to stick to the plan. And something has to be done. But trading half our squad won't help. The problem could be viewed from two angles. 1. Our defence is so poor that our forwards doesn't get the chance to score. 2. Our offensive play are to poor that the defence looks worse than they really are. I'd say that the truth is somewhere between. 1. The first line haven't scored that much. Where's Zednik? 2. A trade has to be done soon. I think that we need a goal scorer. Offer Sundström, a defenceman in order to make room for Komisarek and another forward.
  13. Zednik should not be traded. In my opinion he is one of NHLs most underrated players. One of the best skaters and give us some goals. And he's not overpaid like many others. I would rather see Koivu traded than Zednik.
  14. Yeah it's all the second lines fault. Come on. The one that hasn't been producing is Zednik.
  15. Habs 77 wrote: 1- Disturb only one of the lines... because both are doing well. They are but isn't the main reason for that the fact that our defencive works? I have tought about it and here's what I came up with: 1. Zednik and Koivu on the first line. A goal scorer and our best center. Ryder seems to be a lucky pick. And since Ribs doesn't seems to work on the wing Ryder is the only option if we want him among the top-6 in this scenario. 2. Ribeiro and Perreault. Having Ribs on the center but Perreault to take the faceoffs. Maybe Audette with them. Not a hard-hitting line but it could work. 3. Juneau and Dackell works well togheter. Bulis seems to like playing on the third line with some defensive responibility. In my mind I would rather see Sundström than Dackell but one can't ignore that Dackell and Juneau works that well togheter. 4. Ward and Hossa. Kilger to center. Play Begin or Langdon when we are facing stronger teams. Hossa and Ward will get more ice-time when somebody are out with an injury. So... Even if I don't want it... Sundström is the one out the day Kilger and Koivu are ready.
  16. We knew that Ottawa has a great offence. But 6 goals? We may have to live with the fact that Ottawa is the one of the best team in the leauge. And we hasn't lost two games in a row. Yet. But I am a bit disapointed at Zednik. 2 goals thus far. I want more. But maybe he will have som more with Koivu. Sourray is really on a hot streak. 2 goals tonight...
  17. It's true. That I have to be in Montreal or in Quebec to get the whole picture. But I read the opinions of the people at this board and a few other. I read The Hockey News. Try to read so much that I can. I also listens to CJAD. And when a Montreal game is on TV in Sweden, I see it. The other games are sent to me about a week later. And I did say that I think of Saku Koivu as one of the best centers but not so good that many others think he is. And that he is on the top 20 shouldn't surpise many. There's about 30 teams in the NHL and every team has a first center... Saku is defentivly a top 20. In his best moments he's a top 10. And on a european ice he is a top 5.
  18. I think the fourth period have some interesting rumors. If all rumors did happen it wouldn't be called rumors but propecies. (is that the right spelling?) I mean it's not a news that Blues are looking for a defenceman. And since Habs needs to trim the roster I hope we can make a 2 for 1 deal. We could use Gauthier and at the same time trim our roster. Two forwards for Guthier. Sundström shouldn't be that hard to deal since San Jose pay some of his salary. And a question... If Blues are looking for a defencemen isn't possible wo wave Dykhuis or Traverse?
  19. From The Fourth Period As TFP previously reported, the Montreal Canadiens are believed to be interested in Calgary defenseman Denis Gauthier. However, they may also be shopping a blueliner of their own. With Barret Jackman and Al MacInnis out for an extended period of time, the St. Louis Blues are currently in the market for a defenseman and, according to unconfirmed reports, may have interest in Montreal’s Craig Rivet and Stephane Quintal. In the mean time, the Flames are looking for help up front and may have interest in the likes of Jason Ward, Niklas Sundstrom and the currently injured Chad Kilger. The Toronto Maple Leafs are also interested in the bruising Gauthier, while the interest may have peeked for Washington Capitals. I would like to have Gauthier. Sundström + ??? ??? for Gauthier?
  20. Like i said. I still think Koivu is one of the best players in the leauge. But I do think that he's overrated. You think of Koivu as one of the best centers in the leauge but that's something the most people outside Quebec would disagree about. And don't mix thing up. That he fought cancer has nothing to do with his hockey-skills.
  21. Interesting game tonight. I say that it will be decided on overtime.
  22. I have nothing against finns. In Sweden there's a way of speaking that says: Finlands sak är vår sak. With poor translation that is: Finlands sake is our sake. And Sami Kapanen along with Fedorov and Owen Nolan are the players in the leauge that I enjoy watching the most. But I do think Saku Koivu is overrated. Not in the leauge but in Montreal. But still he is one of the best hockeyplayers in the world. And my point was that Perreault has won 14 games for us since he came in. And he is consistant goal scorer. We don't pay to much and we knows what we get. You should stop that habsakuish hate for Perreault.
  23. Look like we can add one to Perreault...
  24. Had nothing to do so I checked up the stats on game winning goals... Koivu - 16 Zednik - 8 Kilger - 4 Juneau - 3 Dackell - 3 Bulis - 5 Audette - 7 Perreault - 13 And remember that Koivu came to Montreal in 95. Has missed a lot of games but still... Perreault has 13 in what 3 seasons?
