Myers is 6'7. While the Habs have some bruising dudes, I seriously doubt that any of them are going to be physically capable of exacting revenge even if they have a mind to.

Best thing to do is go out there and just whup the Canucks' asses.

I disagree that Myers had no intent. He thrust his shoulder upward into Armia's face at the last moment and that is why he made contact with the head. It was a pure, 100%, bona fide dirty hit, borne of frustration with the scoreboard and his own execrable suckage all night long.

Very true. This is the one time I wish we had a goon that could take on Myers. Where is John Scott when you need him? 😎Also, “execrable suckage” is the best description of Myer’s play I have heard. It’s almost Shakespearian. I hope there is no stupidity that costs us the game but I really hope that Myers gets smashed, repeatedly...legally of course

Yeah ... you are correct ... his name was quickly added as an afterthought ... afterthoughts should be left where they were

Actually, Stu Cowan mentioned the possibility of Lekhonen being waived on the latest episode of HIO. I didn’t think it was a good idea when he said it either,  as noted Leks would certainly be claimed.

  3. I think it is more likely that Paul Byron goes on waivers to the taxi squad simply because his contract makes it very unlikely that he will be claimed. If the Canadiens put Perry on waivers at 750K it is highly likely he will be claimed.

Would someone give up a 6th or 7th for Lindgren.

Demchenko or McNiven can be our Taxi squad goalie.

Primeau and Demchenko/McNiven to the AHL.

    we really don't need Lindgren.

The Devils are down a goalie with Crawford opting out.

The Capitals are down a goalie with Lundqvist's heart issue.

Hell, I'd be fine if someone grabs Lindgren on waivers, would like to just clear the deck so the other goalies can play.

I was just thinking the same thing. It would be great to turn Lindgren into an asset or as you said, just clear the log jam in the crease a little.

  5. Not sure why this deal is baffling. Frolik is a veteran depth guy that will be part of the taxi squad and enable one of the young forwards to get playing time in Laval. In case of a string of injuries, he *might* provide viable NHL depth. This is a cheap insurance deal and good for the development of our young players. Some times a depth move is just a depth move and not a pre-cursor to a bigger trade.

    At least its our colour.

I want nothing to do with taking a colour weve never used off of thr Nordiques

Exactly, the blue harkens back to the very beginning of the franchise and I think it looks great. In total contrast, to the lame laughs effort😎

I think this opens the door to Danault and Tatar replaced by cheaper alternatives like Poehling Caufield Ylonen etc NEXT YEAR

Nope. That is a recipe for disaster. You don’t spend decades trying to acquire / develop center depth and then squander it by gambling that a rookie is going to replace a player like Danault. I predict that he will be signed  to an extension soon...if Danault is traded in the near term, Bergevin and all of us fans will regret it.

Wonder if Domi and our 16 could’ve landed that pick.

It might well have, but that trade does not improve the team next season like the Anderson trade should. I know that you, and many others here don’t care for the Domi trade version 2, but that doesn’t change two things: 1. It was a trade made with the intention of immediate improvement and 2. Despite his issues Anderson was coveted by many other teams around the league by all accounts.

I would have liked MB to use an asset to get the 21 or 22 pick and grab Lappierre. No matter what our GM does no one is going to be 100% happy with all his moves  unless, and until we win a Cup.

Tampa saying Stamkos is available.  What about KK + the 16th for Stamkos?  he’s had injury problems and they need to clear cap space so that should lower his value some and habs should be willing to part with a center for an upgrade.

OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. An injury prone 30 year old for KK and the 16th? No, Non, ten thousand times NO

So from a flat cap perspective, buying him out now does make sense as the cap should start to go back up by the time they lose space again.

I did still have hopes of convincing another team to take him for the final year of his contract at the cost of a 2nd round pick though.

The flat cap giveth and the flat cap taketh away, so sayeth the Bettman

One can romanticize David Desharnais’ story however they like however

6 seasons into his career Jonathan Drouin has a .59 points per game average.

6 seasons into his career David Desharnais had a .62 points per game average.

You’re saying that Desharnais carved out a nice little niche for himself, however I would say playing with an elite finisher in Pacioretty helped him carve out a spot as a 1st line NHLer. Desharnais amassed 4 points as an Oiler and 29 points in 71 games as a Ranger.

One could argue that Desharnais being compared to Drouin is a compliment to Desharnais simply because Drouin was a 3rd overall pick. Of course the negative way to spin it would be to pick on Drouin and all his faults when discussing the comparison.

In the end, I think in the future the comparison between the two will be moot because Drouin will be a better player than Desharnais ever was.  We can talk about heart and hockey IQ and it may be true that Drouin is lacking, but by the end of their career, there will be no comparison between Desharnais and Drouin, but it will simply be because Drouin was the much better player.

I hope that the last part of your post becomes true

Is this guy simply another Chiarot? An overpaid outdated big lumbering 2nd pairing guy. When have much cheaper options in Kulak & Mete, Romanov to slot in, then find icetime for Norlinder the following year.

I dont get the want for him, i just now gotta hope he turns down any Habs offer.:tumbleweed:

Move Domi up to Kman's line and let Drouin be useless on the 4th line with Weise. I would like Drouin - Poehling - Belzile as the 4th line

Fleury in and Oulette out please

We hung in there but Philly controlled most of the play and had many dangerous chances. I feel like CJ is not playing to win but playing not to loose and CJ is too obsessed with line matching.

    Lehkonen is indeed cursed

It is long past time for Poehling or even Hudson to replace Weise. I loved DW in his first stint with the team but he is done. I know Hudon is ill suited to a 4th line but is CJ must be the only one watching these games that cannot see that Weise is bringing nothing. And Ouellet? 🤬

You wouldn't want the equivalent of Gretzky and Messier as your top C, a sniper like Kurri, and the equivalent of Paul Coffey on the blueline - ? 😮

In retrospect, I should have left that sentence at “ I don’t expect...”. Just my old aversion to everything Oilers bubbling up again 😎 Of course I would love all of that talent on the Habs.
