  1. Toronto doesn't support any hockey other then the leaf. Winnipeg built a new arena, while it's small, they still would sellout every game and have stronger attendance then the teams in the south. Of course, it'll likley go to yet another American city. Where the fans will go for 20 games then neglect it, alla Carolina, Atlanta, Florida teams, all those other fruity non-hockey markets.
  2. That and a buck will get you a coffee. They haven't had a serious football match in over 15 years. So if you wanna live in the past go ahead. I like living in the present. Again, those reds happened in what? Qualfying? Bringing it up proves how little you know about football and shows how weak your argument is. Of course Totti did get a red in the game against the Koreans, then again for spitting. Yep, they look very disiplined to me. Win what? 3rd place in there group? [Edited on 2005/12/13 by Leafs Suck]
  3. 2000 was a pure choke job, justify it all you want. Having the lead until the 90th minute then blowing it and losing it in extra-time. And yes England's game against France was a choke, considering Beckham was stopped by Berthez on a penalty 10 minutes earlier. You can keep your Italian blinders on if you want, but if you think that was a choke job and Italy 2000 wasn't then you're obviously misguided. BTW I could use the argument that Zidane's tying goal was a beauty so it wasn't a choke job, alla your excuse for Italy... but I won't. And besides, that was in the first game of the tourny. I would rather blow a lead like that in Game 1 and re-group in Game 2 then blow it in the Finals. What an embarrassment that was. Also found it interesting how England got out of there group stage in 2004, and Italy didn't. And that England made it to the Final 8 in 2002 while Italy didn't. Rooney was injuried in the game against Portugal. I am sure his penalty would have helped. Not to mentioned the fact England had scored in the 90th minute but the Swiss offical called it back claiming the goal was interfered with. If you look at it, it was his own defender interfering with him not the English player. But of course that's no excuse... well it is if your country is shaped like a boot. And much like the "new NHL", nothing much has changed and the Italy of old, all the whining, diving, spitting, will come back to haunt them. Besides, Italy's not even ranked in the top 10 in the world. [Edited on 2005/12/12 by Leafs Suck]
  4. Hope you went home and showered 1000 times. You have to get the stink of leaf off you. It's very important. And yes I will be watchin for yah on CityTV.
  5. You won't find too many teams who can win consistantly without there two best forwards. This is a decent team when 100% healthy. They need a blueliner regardless. Ruslan Salei would be a decent pickup IMO.
  6. So who cares how many World Cups Italy has won? Uruguay has 2. That's more then England, France, Holland, and the same amount as Argentina, are you suggesting that Uruguay is better then those nations? You failed to mention 2000 Euros. If you think that wasn't a pure choke job than you're not a fan of football. Who do I support? England. And I am sure you'll belittle them yet I could use the same argument you used. "They lost in alot of shootouts"... But hey, England has been further then Italy in the last World Cup and Euro tourny so if you wanna talk about the present you have no argument. 7. Seems every time the Canadiens play an ex-habs, a thread is started saying how big of a mistake letting that player go yet majority of the time the player in question did NOTHING in Montreal.
  8. Uh oh, Italian fan club in da house. I love the logic "We didn't make it out the group phase but the Czechs did yet they're overrated"... PLEASE... In WC2006 qualfying Italy lost to Slovenia. Odd how that was not mentioned. I love the spin on "Oh Italy didn't lose in 2004"... yet they only played 3 games, in a very easy group yet failed to advance. It's hilarous that someone could have the nerve to put a positive spin on that. 06 will be the same ol' for Italy. CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE. I hope they don't spit on the other players this time, or whine about the officals but what would a World CUp be without Italy making fools of themselves?
  9. I believe the Yzerman deal was in 93/94 for Matt Schneider. Savard backed out saying "Yzerman hasn't won anything"...
  10. No thanks. I still like the Nolan/Fiset deal better. I don't think the Habs were good enough to be considered a Cup contender at the time. no point in trading an assest like Roy for Belfour's expiering contract. Nolan and Fiset fit the habs needs more at the time.
  11. I wasn't the one who brought him up.
  12. Listen to the media talk. They give him all the credit. And believe me he wants all the credit. Notice during the World Cup celebrations he had the nerve to sit in the front of the team photo on the ice? What is that? Pure ego trip. Atleast Quinn and the coaches had enough brainpower to step to the back and let the players have there time in the spotlight. Nope, Gretzky had to stick his bird nose in the middle of the action. 1998 did deserve some for not have Niedermayer or Messier there, but that was still an unbelieveable team. Look at there first four games, they DOMINATED everyone. They were few and far between. I Have nothing against Fleury, I actually find his story quiet remarkable, but he was only on there cuz of Gretzky. I disagree. The media has there head so far up his ass that they wouldn't dare call him out. It's a real shame. Maybe what the NHL should start doing is making the Olympics like an under-25 tournament, similiar to what they do in soccer.
  13. 1) Staal 2) Crosby 3) Spezza All three should be on but I have a feeling The Ego will leave one off. Odds are it's Spezza.
  14. Actually Ghana is a decent team as well. Italy is very overrated. I can see them not making it out of the group phase again.
  15. This team stinks. I can smell them all the way from Toronto.
  16. Pryor is merley a black version of George Carlin. Both brilliant, both abused there bodies something awful, both are legends.
  17. I like what Rooster posted. ITALY FAILS TO ADVANCE. GO USA, GHANA AND CZECH!!!
  18. Group E = Group of DEATH! Best matchup of the first round? Argentina vs Holland England has an easy pool. Good. Italy has a tough pool. Good. Germany vs Poland... Hmmmm interesting I was hoping for Italy and Korea to be in the same pool. That woulda been interesting.
  19. So has Belfour, why is he being considered? I won't say anything bad about Gretzky because apprently it upsets some people.
  20. Bonk would be involved in the Florida deal. He plays his best hockey under Martin and that trade would jump start his play IMO.
  21. Much like with Eklund and hockeytradeumours, TFP has a serious credibility problem IMO.
  22. Carey Price The Canadiens raised a lot of eyebrows taking him fifth overall in the 2005 NHL Draft, but Price has stood out for a struggling Tri-City team. His 2.34 GAA, .920 save percentage, 24 wins and eight shutouts placed him in the top 10 of all WHL goalie categories, good enough to earn a spot in the 2005 CHL Top Prospects game in Vancouver. He also played at the U-18 World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic, leading Canada to a silver medal. Stats through Dec. 5: 8-9-3, 2 SO Kyle Chipchura Chipchura has long been considered by scouts as a two-way player with with a bit of offensive upside. His best junior season thus far was in 2003-2004, when he tallied 48 points in 64 games with Prince Albert. Last season, Chipchura went down very early with an Achilles' heel injury, but bounced back and played in 28 regular season games and 14 playoff matches. Played for Canada at the 2004 World Under-18 Championship in Belarus, and was taken in the first round by the Montreal Canadiens. Stats through Dec. 5: 27 GP, 6 G, 15 A, 37 PIM Guillaume Latendresse He tallied 49 points in 2003-04 and was named to the 2003-2004 QMJHL All-Rookie Team. He scored 53 goals and 137 points in 118 games in his first two seasons with Drummondville and helped lead Canada to a silver medal at the 2005 World-18 Championship. Drafted in the second round by the Montreal Canadiens in June, his strong play almost saw him crack the lineup in the final week of the preseason. Stats through Dec. 5: 25 GP, 22 G, 18 A, 55 PIM [Edited on 2005/12/5 by Leafs Suck]
