And you go exactly where a hockey blog need not, and should not, tread ...
Honest expression among adults is the hallmark of a democratic culture. And note that our chief flake has further piled a lifetime of misery on the teenager who in the midst of an ill considered exchange with a girl who blows strangers has had the whole world descend upon him, and now Flakey. Perhaps it was my education in western philosophy and sensitivity to the incoherencies of western Marxism along with the mass murder's but Flakey does not even know where he gets his "thought" material. I do. And unlike him, I'm a liberal incidentally. We could use fewer dramatic readings heaped on this kid for his behavior. Interesting that no one is criticizing him for the actual act. Or her. These points are relevant and blatantly so.

Interesting, Renaud Lavoie is saying the Drouin wants to return to the Habs, but Arpon Basu and Marc Antoine-Godin both said on The Athletic Support podcast that Drouin would rather move on from Montreal. All 3 aren't known for speaking out of turn, so I don't know what's going on.
I initially thought Drouin might find things a lot easier being traded away, but I changed my mind about that. He is right to give us a chance to be real fans and support the hell out of him. I hope he stays and has a lot of fun.

I think it'll be great to have Drouin back and give us all an opportunity to be great fans with lots of support. I hope he stays with the Habs.

I much admire Pierre who was a highly educated , competent and principled adult in a position he was appropriate in.... but Trudeau Extra Lite.. .Dopey the flake has made such a name impossible to hear on a regular basis while watching les glorieux. Even though my early Canadian ancestors lived on a farm close to the Trudeau farm in La Prairie. I'd prefer a family name that is less conflicted.... like Schitthead or something. 😊

Interesting stuff. Kudos to the team again for such a wonderful resolve and effort which carried them to the peak for a peek. And of course our indigenous issue.....

In an ideal world I would see Drouin returning and flourishing with us. We could have used his skills a lot setting up Troffoli. But I don't see that as likely. I can see him deciding and agreeing that a fresh start somewhere else might be best. But I'd rather have him forgive all of us fanatics and come back to play. I'd welcome him.

I share your concern about complacency. This was a “built for the playoffs” team for sure, but you also need to be able to make the playoffs. I’m not sure this group gets that done next year. It will tell us a lot about MB whether he rests on his laurels or continues to push.
On your specifics:
-Weber will be protected. Lehkonen should be too.
-Perry, Armia, and Danault *should* all be re-signed. But Danault has to be reasonable. If he isn’t, you cut him loose and cross your fingers.
-I agree that Gally should not be considered untouchable, but I will be absolutely gobsmacked if MB is willing to move him.
-and yes, this team has one really big weakness: lack of a quality top-4 puck-mover to complement Petry. If MB is serious about another run, he will need to get one.
To me, the single biggest key to reaching the playoffs again will be Allen or an Allen substitute. If we expect Price to carry us for 82 games we are fools, plain and simple.
Dumping Gally would be a bad move. We don't have another player who can supply the organ for a heart transplant. He had a busted thumb and still played like the warrior he is. Besides. He's Irish!

A healthy Petry and Weber would have made a big difference on our PP. Not to mention the gallant Gally.

Our first focus should be on the D. As good as Tampa was. We would have had a better chance with a better D core. Even with a healthy Petry - we need a more mobility and offence from the D.
Kelly Rudi was saying that Charot was our best player.
-
We should have a special parade for Carey Price. What a hero. As the CBC would say, a fine person without a vulva.

Ironically glad to hear that Toffoli was hurt. I was singularly unimpressed with his play as he seemed to struggle with the simplest things. I feel a lot more forgiving hearing about his playing injured.

Just like always, it is on-ice coverage from tossing the gloves as the clock expires to the team photo. As it should be.
To the victors.... 🤔

As expected.
I think it was a very big factor in who had to play and how difficult it was for us. Especially Petry, Weber and Gally. I didn't knw about Toffoli. That might explain why he seemed so wooden and inadequate out there. Hard to see how we wouldn't have been a lot stronger but for these significant factors. The team sure tried though and Price was a miracle man.

Tampa Bay deserved it. They really are a great team with next to no weaknesses. I really like John Cooper as a coach. Such a well spoken individual who seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
A hell of a run by the Habs that I'll always remember! Loved being the underdog and surprising all these teams. Price was amazing and showed that he is still a top goalie in this league.
Ya man.

Much more interesting summer! Thanks Habs!!!!

Sure was. Thanks Habs!!

Great comeback season guys and if Petry and Weber and Gally didn't have broken hands it might have been even better. Thanks LES BOYS for giving me something to watch into JULY!!
-
One major factor has been that our blueline threata.. Weber and Petry as well as Gallagher are playing with busted hands. This might have sealed our fate.

I’m sure they’re working as hard as they can…TB is a defensive machine, however.sounds like a nasty one on Anderson. Damn
He's been just terrific.

I have to agree… They deserved to get this far but they simply haven’t been good enough in this series…
they played like a team who should lose in 5.
Yup. Even if we get to stagger through this one.

Solid as our effort has been in series after series, we are not the team that should win this Stanley Cup.
