  1. Wickenheiser over Savard 1980 1st overall, ever since then....
  2. Actually in hind sight, badminton would be a lot more interesting than a leafs wild game.
  3. Great, first TorontoSN and now more loser fans in broadcasting. F em, I will watch RDS even though I can't speak a word of French, who knows by the end of the season I maybe bi-lingual. Et la but! Oh, what are they planning for the post season when the leafs play golf? Or the late season when the leafs are out of the race? Badminton? Fools at the helm.
  4. uh lets see, we give up our only second line winger for another centre . Why? Yes he is that good but we have so much depth in that position, we need wingers. Not saying I'd complain but I'd still rather ad an exp wing to the existing 2nd line.
  5. It is too late for Theo to go to arbitraion, if he doesn't sign he will be a hold out until he does
  6. Oh and who is on the wing in your minds with Ribs and Ryder? Bonk? Perezhogin? I say Bonk 3 line C.
  7. No draft pick needed, the kids would rotate in and see who fits, Give him a one year deal and next year all the kids will be ready and have exp in NHL. You maybe crying in 3 months if the kids can't get it done. Depth is a good thing.
  8. Probably be a bargain for that reason, I think we have a great team but not enough old blood mixed in, to keep them thinking ahead when we have our slumps. He still would have the hands, not the speed and moves but our young guns have that
  9. Just wondering what you all would think if we were to pick up Bondra, as he is probably the best forward left out there, urfa. With Luongo signing, Theo should follow soon for same price range, leaving some extra head room in the budget. Team could use one more experiance forward, that can finish. :eyes:
  10. Does anyone remember the rocket riot? that was an intentional slash to the head, obvious stick swing, to the head, no helmets! We got behind our star and supported him. How could any Habs fan be down on our brightest prospect? Next time lets hope he retaliates with his fist, but at least he did stand up for himself, and I for one don't want a watered down game. Tempers flare and that is a big part of the game, the adrenaline. Sometimes it gets out of hand but that IS hockey. Oldtime. I don't want baseball. Although they do have more bench clearers then us now. Oh, and why does the American audience need a winner? What is wrong with a tie?
  11. _________ Koivu Zed Dagenias Ribs Ryder _________ Bonk Ward _________ Bulis/Begin Sundstrom Komo Sourey Boulion Rivet Markov _______ ______ Theo Huet Yannis Heino-Lindburg We have Chipchura, Locke and Higgins as young centers Kositsyn and Perzogan as R wings Plekanik and Lambert as L wings Hainsley, Cote and Archer as Def As I see it add 3 free agent LWs and 2 def and we are stacked. Unrealistically I'd say Kovalev LeClair Modano Gonchar Hatcher
  12. No we don't need to pick higher. 1st would have amazing but we are picking higher than we should be. a 5th overall added to our young talent and budget along with the current lineup.... ain't complaining:clap:
  13. and don't forget Huet will be back and he is a solid young goalie. not a position we are weak at, just young;)
  14. I have been thinking about that. Who do we really have for our future as a goalie? Theo could go a long time but who knows. Danis seems awesome but sometimes that does not translate well into the NHL. A goalie for the future perhaps and ride the UFA list for a while? Too much to think about! We have Hieno-Lindburg, who played outstanding in the world juniors last year:clap:
  15. All I want for Christmas is my hockey back my hockey back yes my hockey back gee if only i could have my hockey back then I could wish you merry Christmas It seems so long since I could say There goes Koivu streaking down the left wing Gosh oh gee how happy I'd be if the Habs would win another cup ring All I want for Christmas is my hockey back my hockey back yes my hockey back gee if only i could have my hockey back then I could wish you merry Christmas :puke::nono: [Edited on 2004/12/5 by johnnyhasbeen] [Edited on 2004-12-29 by sakiqc]
  16. Fair? I have to think Ottawa, vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton may disagree
  17. Shiiiiit!!! http://nhlcbanews.com/index.html
  18. While watching the Canada vs Slovakia game last night a buddy of mine brought up a good point, rare for him as he is a Flyers fan and insists Lindros was the all time best) (but hey, Philly did put the Leafs out so...lets go flyers lol) Anyway, he mentioned that Canada should have played all their games in Montreal and pointed out the difference in crowd response. The point he made was that Torontonians were Leaf fans, not hockey fans as in Montreal. Very valid point, and hey, is it possible to be an informed hockey fan and still like the Leafs?:can::can:
  19. Funny seeing this thread as I've been thinking how sweet it would be if this was to happen. Good to see like minded fans. I think I would break down and weep openly if the Habs were to sign both, be it as far fetched at it seems. Possible...but far fetched. Man if we could add Chelios too...also Oates and Nedved will be available I think. How about Numminum too, 3 Finns. lol Lots available to fill the few spots we have. Need not worry. Go Bob Go
  20. ...Moore didn't take the first swing, Strafford did. No similarity here other than they were all playing hockey. Hang Todd , go light on Alex. That would make sense.
  21. .... and they settled for Lalime ? oops....:-^
  22. No brain needed to be a journalist. These are his picks, from his little brain and have nothing to do with the world the rest of us live in. Mario? not even if he was healthy all this year would i consider him, but Torontonians seem to like older men...We'd be better off with Ryder anyday. Don't pay this guy no never mind, just a fool with a newspaper gig.
  23. What better way to leave the nhl but having allowed the leafs to trade their future for old bums. What a sad situation faces that org. As much long term damage as ballard? time will tell. Anything you had to do with the current leaf situation Ken, job well done.
  24. By saying it was a failure not winning the cup, I am simply stating that if you think back over the last 20 years the only ones that matter were the cups, Yes we do have a great young team here but it has been too long without a cup. This is Montreal and we win cups, not first rounds. That is what the historic club is about, not a good year when you look at it that way. :hlogo:
  25. see y'all next year ....arg....:wall: We should have won the last 2 games but their goalie was hotter, what can you say...
