  1. Listen, I am a contract worker. If I totally bone my job and don't hold up my end of the deal I am in breach of the contract and can be terminated. Time for professional sports to start looking at that out. If you can't do the job you are paid to do at the level you were hired to do it, you are in breach of the contract and can lawfully have the contract terminated. I am absolutely sick of watching overpaid players not perform at the level they are paid to play at. If you hire a contractor to build a sunroom and he builds one with no windows, are you going to pay him?
  2. I see the issues this season as blindingly obvious. Our defense can't transition the puck out of our end and can't hold the blue line in the other end. Teams are playing their forwards high in their own end to force the d to make quick decisions and we turn it over for rushes time and time again. We NEED to make a move on the point. Period. Wideman and Savard, I would trade either for Mete. Bonehead loss. Petry is not able to carry the pressure of being the #1 guy. He did well as a fill in knowing Weber was coming back before, but the weigh of the role seems to be killing his game. 2 guys calling for the pass and he takes yet another wrister wide. SMH. The blueline as it is will not make the playoffs and will likely finish bottom of the league. Maybe that is the plan, Plight for Wright is in full swing.
  3. If, and that is a big if, the habs make the playoffs, I predict he is back for them.
  4. Guess it wore off? If you travel across time zones often you would get what I am on about. I expect a good showing again today.
  5. Shall we start calling this season the Plight for Wright?
  6. I stayed up until it was 5 1, that was enough. They looked to be as jet legged on the ice as I was in my chair. The eastern teams have had to deal with the late night games every year in west coast swings while western teams basically get an afternoon game on our side. How hard would it be for the NHL to work the schedule so east teams western trips all start with a Saturday or Sunday afternoon game? Would even the playing field
  7. I can't seem to remember, did they even make the playoffs last year? 6mil for a 3rd line center. What a joke team. Hmm he is on track for 30pnts though... as a top line winger. 200k per point. lol
  8. If we get a 1st for Chiarot we hit the jackpot.
  9. Things I miss from preseason, a defenceman (Guhle) that could actually make a clearing pass consistently and our PP which consisted of movement and not just loading up one timers. I am no amused with the team at the moment. Just not there.
  10. I am laughing at the comments on this game. Yes, it was bad. So were the Leaf against Ottawa. Why? It is back to back games at the first of the year. Even mid season it is hard to not be exhausted for the second game. Yeah Yeah, big money pros should be in shape. No. It is mental fatigue which most of you would not understand, but let me explain. The NHL is a fast game. Is that referring to the speed the skating and puck moves? Not really. It is about how much time you have to make a decision at every moment of the game. The first game will totally drain you and to have it against a rival like we did, the intensity was amped. What happens in game 2 is your brain is not quite in sync. You make passes behind the player, you turn over the puck at the blueline. Everything you saw last night. That is a little sports psych 101 for you all. Yes the legs are tired but it is the mind that failed last night. Excuses? Heck, it is game 2. I think it is the reality of what I watched last night. Stop acting like Leaf fans. it is embarrassing
  11. Remember way back when in the preseason when we cycled on the PP and it worked? All I will say on that.
  12. Here we go! Let's take it to the leafs like it was an elimination game! Spank them hard and give their fans a reason to start the panic early. We all know if they win the leafs parade route will be planned..... Again.
  13. 46w 28l 8otl 3sol 100pnts 3rd in div 9th in league 53g and the calder
  14. Went to watched Moosehead play Islanders last night. Both habs prospects, Trudeau and Simoneau looked good. Cormier, LVG, was exceptional.
  15. He adjusted himself out of a spot in Columbus and T Bay. His game is on a serious decline over the last few year and may have gone off the cliff. Look at his stats over the last 7 seasons and they don't lie. He is too slow for the NHL. Imagine what McDavid will do to him? How bad does a player really have to be to be a minus 8 on the top team in the league?
  16. Savard looks like a useless pickup. He brings zero to the D. I have a hard time visioning him as out 6th dman. Guhle is miles ahead of him already. Wideman is only useful on PP. He fits there well but again, his work in his own hl of the ice and on the backcheck is terrible. I would rather see Norlinder and Guhle as our 5 and 6 at this point. In game 1 even the tryout X Factor looked better.
  17. My main surprise was X Factor. Hope he gets another chance. He is big, broke up a 2 on 1 and can move the Puck.
  18. Can this be form Eichel's manager? You may want to fact check, FDA approved the vax Aug23rd. FDA APPROVED!! GET THE SHOT!! https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-approves-first-covid-19-vaccine
  19. Just going to say the same people who fight for pro choice about the vax are those that fight against pro choice for abortion. Think about that a second. Is it your body your choice or not? Hockey anyone?
  20. If this is true, MB has done beyond my hopes in a GM in how he handled it. Quietly. Took the media bashing. Came out with a better center signed and an attitude gone. Good luck to Carolina if they just overpaid a punk. It makes you wonder how many of the youngsters that we wonder why we are not playing just happen to have attitude problems. I have been around young players in my life to know that a lot of the most talented are real dicks. That of course falls on our scouts to catch before we draft them. Maybe there is something to our draft scouting system being not up to snuff. Draft high talent that slips to you because of attitude and hope to hit a homer? We drafted a problem this year, KK seems to have had one. Subban was all attitude but managed to live up to it. We had a young purse snatcher, a kid drunk in no shoes getting frost bite, a kid in bar fights with his dad. Those are off the top of my head. Maybe we have to realize that usually these picks are left to slide for a reason? Just a thought. Think we hear "We don't need you" when he plays in The Bell?
  21. Explains his similar leave of absence in Halifax. Imagine if he finally explodes? He is the guy I hope feeds Cole 50 goals as a rookie. One can hope. Just so glad he took the time to get it in order. He was dishing out some beautiful feeds last season for a stretch. He is the playmaker we need. Hope he can keep it together. Mental illness is real I have many people in my life dealing with different forms. Can't say I am totally sane myself lol.
  22. Great trade. We now have replace KK with a center who can win faceoffs and score on the PP. I am loving this. Takes the pressure off of Evans to be the 2nd line replacement. 4.5 mill for 4 years. Super deal. Now, can he package a couple defencemen for a top one? My main worry now.
  23. No. Eichel is available. We have Carolinas first and our first, add a piece and get it done.
