Thinking of GM's meetings- I would like to tweak playoff seeding as follows-- I don't evoke crossover rule unless there is a fifth team at least in any division that is higher up in standing than a fourth in other division in same conference. In other words, regardless of standing , I don't take anybody out of their division unnecessarily- must be knocked out by a fifth seed from other division. I believe division rivalries have merit. All I am doing is taking a few possible outcomes out of the crossover scenario.

2018/19 Laval Rocket General Discussion Thread

I think he is damn close-- I think he gets signed somewhere -
If anybody has been watching, he gets signed somewhere, above where he is at now

Watch your pennies and your dollars will look after themselves. This may be MB's FATAL FLAW. He don't give a damn about his underlings!

Desperately need offense-- MB do something

2018/19 Laval Rocket General Discussion Thread
BlueKross replied to dlbalr's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I don't know how you free up prospects, they are pretty much off limits till their season expire. I am thinking maybe trading defense for forward at the AHL level, or maybe a final piece in an NHL deal? -
2018/19 Laval Rocket General Discussion Thread
BlueKross replied to dlbalr's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I don't know what MB will do at the trade deadline. He could get beef up the forward situation in Laval which seems to be held together by duct tape and baling wire. You might be surprised if they added some scoring up there. -
Claude Julien: Jack Adams candidate?
BlueKross replied to The Chicoutimi Cucumber's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I prefer candidates that bring their team to the top, as opposed from the bottom to the middle. This would also apply to GM MB as well. Too early for these two to get any titles. Who is responsible for their bottom feeding? -

What about LaCouvee--- seems hotter than what we got? -
Any news on McCarron?

Despite how well we have been playing we are still bouncing in and out of wildcard position. We are not going to contend with the big boys. I really like what is happening in Laval. I wouldn't give too many assets away to contend this year. We need a closer up front as well as what has been previously mentioned. I would stay on the path we are on.

START 2018 Baseball-- Blue Jays going nowhere fast- reduced payroll- waiting patiently for bargain basement sales to shore up pitching-- reminds me a lot of the Indians who would be competive once or twice every fourteen or sixteen years or so.-- I blame Ted Roger's lackey

8th overall and 4th or 5th in our own division--- tells me that we are in the toughest division in hockey-- as positive as the start has been we are still treading water-- Weber will help-- but still need to add

Waivers Jacob de la Rose claimed off waivers by Detroit
BlueKross replied to dlbalr's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Listened to the Detroit game last night. The commentators suggested that Detroit is quite happy with de la Rose, and he has made quite a difference to their line-up, for what that is worth. -
Don't get too giddy-- Looks more like a recipe for the ""Hughes Sweeps"

Correct. Looks to me , like a pretty young team. Ward is just a little insurance. Maybe just for preseason games?
-
Relax-- He is just here to balance the push back, if needed. Remember when young T went down and there was no response.

Both players need to be moved, agreed. They need to be moved with respect and professionalism. Not seeing it. On the other side, I see news every day that is preverted and diverted. i respectfully disagree with your second premise..

I don't know exactly what you are saying here, but I have long since abandoned the "media" for factual information. It would seem that two Canadian cities are simultaneously giving up on arguably their best players ; Patches Montreal and Donaldson Toronto . I do not like the respect they are getting from their organizations. Furthermore, it tells a lot why both these teams are sitting at the bottom of the pile.

Exactly--- Also leaving SLY in charge for so long TSK TSK

Habs hire Luke Richardson as Assistant Coach
BlueKross replied to Commandant's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Yeah. So we agree, that no matter what he does ex the godsend of defensive hockey or the defensive coach of the decade; that any reward would not happen in Montreal. Seems odd to me that any team would set things up like that. -

What is Luc's chance of advancement look like? Could he become head coach at some point? This reminds me of Randy Cunningworth situation.
