  1. The positives start with Carey Price who has proved me and many fans wrong this year. The other positives are that the core group of players are still intact and naming Gionta as captain was the wisest choice. The other encouraging thing with this club is that they have more depth which has been lacking for far too many years. Now regarding the negatives this team still lacks size up front and our defence still has problems clearing the puck out of our zone. There is still some uncertanties regarding Pouliot and Kostytsin. Overall I believe that they are a better team this year but man will they have to battle for a playoff spot. :hlogo:
  2. The habs didn't let Pouliot find his feet so now we have to fill in the gap on the first line. Moen is not a poor choice however I find that Eller's speed and skills can be better utilized playing with Gionta and Gomez. I firmly believe that Ellers speed and skill will be more compatible on a line with Gionta and Gomez. What disturbs me is Pouliot's demotion to the fourth line. Rather than building up this player's confidence they've destroyed it. I don't care what bullshit explanation they gave him it just makes me sick to see how quickly our club destroy's players and then trades them.
  3. Agree 110 %. Moen will not be effective playing on the top line. Lars Eller is amazing to watch, he's a great skater has great hands and most of all a great hockey mind. Eller must be placed onthe top 2 lines otherwise it will be a waste of talent which montreal is very popular for. :hlogo:
  4. Hey Bar got a prediction for tonight's game ? Last time I made a prediction I was way off.
  5. Enjoyed reading your post. looking at BGL performing on Stars On Ice yesteday evening made me sick. This guy is a big sissy and should be wearing a skirt when he figure skates all over the ice. By far the worst move thatBob Gainey ever made in his career.
  6. Randy Tieman with the Team 990 had a great interview with the legend goaltender Billy Smith. He stated that although Carey Price is a huge goalie he moves very dynamic and moves very quick but often goes down to quickly. Everyone would like to see Price stay more on his feet but that change will require more time to adjust to. Billy Smith also noted that the major obstacle with Price is his temper and it will take more time to mature. Don Cherry on 'coaches corner' said that Price won't make it in montreal. Man would I like to prove that Bully wrong again, some day soon I hope.
  7. I'll eat my crow with a dash of hot pepper, sil vous plais. Habs performance during last years post season should have convinced me and many other Habs fans that this team is for real. I'm going to start playing Miss O Jeu again and this time bet the Habs win. Thank you for some crow 'Bar'.
  8. Montreal skated well. Price had a solid performance. Now let's take on the flying frenchmen (Tampa Bay) and kick some ass.
  9. Pittsburgh 7 - Montreal 3. Pittsburgh will have many things to prove in this game.
  10. Harry Neal,Bob Cole,Don Cherry and the entire CBC crew always gang up on us because they are sore loosers. They actually need the help of the referees to always give Toronto the chance to come back. Toronto Maple Laughs play like a bunch of Sissy's. I've never been a separatist but seeing ugly faces like theirs I certainly don't enjoy sharing the same citizenship.
  11. Have I heard right? Carey Price will not play tonight because of the flu or something? My prediction for tommorrow's game is 5-1 for Toronto with or without Price.
  12. Come to think of it! What if Cammalleri would have dropped his gloves and ended up breaking his wrist or something and would be out of the line up for 30 games. Therefor I can live with a one game suspension which in the words of Red Fisher is a light sentence a slap on the wrist to say the least.
  13. I wish I could be as optimistic as all of you are but my prediction has the habs at 10th place in the east with 88 points which is a bit more optimistic that Red Fisher's prediction at 12th and last place in the east. Although the 3rd and 4th lines have improved we are still small up front and will have problems playing a full 60 minutes. Washington and Pittsburgh will be revengful and Toronto will always be bullies,Tampa Bay and other teams in the east have also improved.
  14. Couldn't agree with you more. Man does that Plekanec look great!
  15. Your points are valid however I do not think that Markov will be seeking 6 million dollars now that he's past his prime. I personaly would like to see his contract extendend to 4 more years at 3.5 million a season even if Markov is only 70 %. As for Hamrlik I also agree that at a significant paycut he would be good to have in our line up.
  16. Aren't we lucky that Markov will be in our line up this october. If we are going to win games it all begins from getting the puck out of our zone. I cant believe that fans are bickering that we shouldn't renew Markov to a multi year contract. Which organization parts with their best defenceman ? Let me also add that Hamrlik was our most consistant defenceman last year. Markov and Hamrlik will set the pace for our young defenceman how can anyone say otherwise.
  17. After thinking it through I've come to the conclusion that they got Ellers because management is not fully convinced that Poulit or AK 46 will do the job or at least consistently. Therefore Im convinced that Eller will remain with the club and soon move from 3rd line center to one of the spots on the top 2 lines. Without any doubt we will all now what this team will really look like after the first 15 to 20 games into the season. So let's all buckle up and enjoy the ride.
  18. Doesn't Pierre McGuire just make you sick? I recall Pierre bashing even mocking Tom Pyatt on TSN as well as the Mitch Melnik show with the Team 990. It's very obvious that he sucks up to Ottawa and Toronto I suppose for more popularity or other stupid reasons. He should get a new job writing the daily horoscopes this way he may be hotter and closer with his predictions.
  19. Lars Eller is phenomenal. He sees the entire ice and makes great passes and has skill and speed. I already see why montreal and many other teams wanted him. Mark my words this player is without doubt a top six player and will shortly be top 20 in the legue within the next 2 to 3 years. Argue all you want but time will tell the true story. I would rather see Pouliot or Kostitsyn go down to the third line and enjoy Ellers bringing his magic to the spotlight.
  20. Have we not been patient with Latendresse? They said that he should be playing on the 1st or 2nd line so we did that and it was a disaster. We then put him on the 3rd or 4th line but he won't check. We put him on the PP but he wont sacrifice his body in front of the net. So can anyone tell me what his role was? I plainly think that with Minnesota he had no excuses left and therefore played well. I'm curious to see what he will do this year for the wild.
  21. After seeing Price play his 2nd exhibition game I believe his problem is mental sharpness. It will take time to get his mental game in shape and he will need the support of his team and lastly us the fans. It's disturbing to see the gutless bastards constantly mocking him. Hal Gill and other players expected Price not to return with the habs this season but he did and that's called courage something that the cowards will never understand.
  22. All fans who dedicate their time, passion and money to support their team are entitled to opinions as well communicating their likes or dislikes about the product on the ice just as long as they communicate it repectfully. Wether they are positive or negative we all have anticipations regarding players or management decisions and it's never personal. Mr. Carey Price which I respect greatly knows all too well of the pressure of playing in montreal and decided to stay and prove everyone wrong as Hal Gill stated to the media. I admire his courage and I hope to see it happen.
  23. Halak was perfect for montreal because he can play with all the pressure and still come through victorious and a champion. Some players fold under pressure but Halak, well you know what I mean......
  24. I'm a fan of Carey Price however I have always argued against keeping him in montreal primarley because of pressure from the fans and from the media. This athlete needs a city that will embrace him and a team that doesn't rush him. My prediction remains the same that Price will not do well this year and be traded away. What a shame it will be on Bob Gainey and Pierre Gautier for overlooking this inevitable outcome that could have been avoided. I wish that I will be proved wrong but I stand firm in my conviction.
  25. I agree that mixing politics with sports is wrong and also dangerous. Unfortunately mixing politics isn't just limited to sports but it also includes movie stars and pop stars and other popular figures that the politicians use for influence. I enjoy the game for what it is but truthfully it goes further than just a game. For example each time we play the Maple Laughs or Ottawa Senetars it goes beyond winning the game simply because CBC (Harry Neal) and canadian sports commentators always downplay the habs and even use political statements. It's just recent that CBC will be broadcasting more habs games than they have in previous years. It's a shame that people like Harry Neal or Don Cherry get away with insulting us and not giving the habs the coverage they deserve.
