At 9th overall does it really matter if we draft a forward or a defenceman? Since he will not play for us in at least a year or two. I think we need a top defence prospect almost more than we need a forward prospect. We already have a few nice top6 forwardprospects in Lehkonen and Scherbak. What top4 defence prospects to we have? My swedish team Leksand was dead last after the first 24 games (almost half reg. Season) in the 2nd division. They made a coach change. After that they almost won all the time and in the end managed to win a best of seven against modo (SHLteam) and take modos place in the SHL. Changing coach can make a BIG difference.

Only watched one game during the playoffs but in that game he wasnt afraid of going hard into the corners and being physical.

Havent checked the cap but if we have 10M and can add maybe 4-5M by dealing Eller and DD then maybe. Or maybe DD could be a setup guy with Pacs and Stamkos.

I would love to have Stamkos, Galchenyuk and Plekanec be our top 3 centermen. Try to trade DD and Eller. Keep Emelin as a bottom 3 Dman. Emelins almost untradeable so might as well use him in a role he is ok in. Most likely in St Johns. Jacob Silfverberg was the best player in SHL when he made the jump here at age 22 and he had 19 points in 48 games after starting the season in the AHL because of the lockout. Lehkonen is only 20 and not as dominating SHL player so I expect him to play a year in the AHL at least. Hopefully next season.

I am starting to think maybe I am a bit blinded by the horrible former gms we have had the last 20 years. MB hasnt been as bad as them yet but instead of one big horrible trade (Gomez, Roy) he has given away way to much capspace on thirdliners and third pairing d. I dont want him fired but I want him to really make some good moves this summer and maybe another one now at the deadline.

What scares me more is how much concussions we will suffer from mr Torres being in leafs jersey.
