Maybe it is time to really put alot more pressure on the coach. Set the goal to at least the ECF or concider the year a failure and maybe fire coach (depending on how good/bad the team play. Going down 0-3 in 2nd round like against Tampa this year should be concidered a nono and a new coach). This is not a hate Therrien post. Just meaning that the pressure should be increased on him.

Sergei Samsonov 2.0? I dont remember what we paid Samsonov but I bet it was more than Semin. I still think signing Semin is a good idea at the contract we got him for. But lets say he has a good season with 20+ goals and 50+ pts... How many will suddenly want us to resign him again to a longer term deal for 5M/ year? Thats the danger of him having a rebound year.

I thought PAP would be a cap hit for more than two years. So buying out his 4M/year deal makes it 1.33M/year for two years. I guess that means we save 1.33.

Wasnt Hamilton and Seguin both the draftpicks they got for Kessel? So first Toronto wastes those two picks and I was so mad at them for stocking up the bruins for years to come and then the Bruins manages to waste it away? Skellefteå was in a class of their own during those years. Dominating the league. But the oposition is still SHL so should be around the same as the AHL. But this is big ice hockey. The speedier and narrower AHL and NHL ice might make it hard for him. We will se. Its a cheap deal that can prove great if he can translate his play.
