Gio with two thats awesome! Props to the captain for breaking the team out of the slump. Also cudos to Price on that performance.

Amazing how with 2 injuries, Pittsburgh C line can go from best in the league to that.
And even more amazing that they can keep winning depite that.
Note that Dupuis isn't all that much of a pushover. pretty consistent 20 goal guy

Sell Everyone! Team Sucks! Where is Halak! Fire the Coach! GM Needs to Trade House Now!

Steve Tambellini gets canned as GM of the Oilers. It's interesting that they did this now and not a few weeks ago where the new GM would have taken them through the deadline. Their new GM is a bit of a puzzling selection though, former coach Craig MacTavish although I think he'll be a decent fit. Their assistant is even more puzzling though, Scott Howson. Evidently the long-term struggles of the Blue Jackets weren't enough to dissuade Kevin Lowe from not only re-hiring him but then promoting him a month later.
About Howson, I believe his moves as a GM made a lot of sense, he did good things for Columbus and wasn't afraid to make trades. His only mistake was believing in Mason who never panned out (and poor scouting). I think Howson would be a good GM for Edmonton because they need to make moves now, my edmonton oiler fan friends refer to tambellini as "slow hands tambo" so... promoting Howson makes sense to me.
Though I am confused about the MacTavish thing.

J-S Giguere had a nice rant after Colorado's loss to Calgary yesterday.
Proper thing

Yah he deserves to be resigned. Has been a huge addition.

wow them defensive plays -.-

cute move by paches haha

markov...

Montreal has their 1st, their second (plus Calgary and Nashville), and their third (plus Dallas).
As for the trade, it seems like Iginla forced it to Pittsburgh or bust meaning that Feaster had no shot of getting much in the way of value back. I think Calgary was trying to string Boston along to use as potential leverage for Shero to pony up more but Feaster was in a no-win situation from the looks of it.
but feaster forced himself into that corner trying to make the playoffs the past few years and failing. He needs out for Calgary to have a future.

that's why I posted it here to see if I'm on my own island here.
i spend more time reading the stuff here and in the NHL section because I don't have the time anymore to get through the Habs forum haha

Q : What's the difference between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Titanic ?
A : None. They are both on the bottom of the Atlantic.

Realignment approved.

Not liking our division with the unnecessary travel to Florida and the extra team. It also makes the Western conference the preferred conference to play for as 6 of 14 teams are guaranteed to make the playoffs, while in the east only 6 of 16 are. I'm unsure why the Florida teams aren't in the D division while CBJ and Pittsburgh should be in our division. This alignment seems to make our division the worse balanced in the league, with travel and the extra team. The only way to fix it is move Florida and Tampa to Quebec City/Hamilton and Seattle/Vegas respectively.
Worst Idea I've Seen. More games against teams that we aren't competing against. Divisions aren't even equal. Since the teams are fighting for fewer spots I only see it as an intensive to tank, i know they changed the lottery but being a bottom 5 team will still get you a great player. All because some teams complain about time-zone changes and some flight time? I haven't heard people say anything about that in Champions league for soccer... NHL franchises are the most pathetic in the world of sport.
Get over yourselves. Please someone show me something positive about this.

Kristo is 5'11"
He's not tiny like Gallagher.
For perspective.... Pacioretty is two inches taller than Kristo. Kristo is three inches taller than Gallagher.
5'11 is not small/not small enough to have any impact in a game.

I only watched the tail end of his first game. He looked really out of sorts with the speed on the NHL game, what did others think?
-
I hope Chuckie brings his physical shoes today. Someone is going to need to make space for DD on that line.
-
The deal makes a lot of sense. I will really miss Cole though, loved his game when he was going.
Positives: Salary, Length, Even Production Player Swap, + Draft Pick.
Negatives: Less Physical, Could Screw With Team Chemistry.
Other Stuff: Cole's Motivation Questions Now Irrelevant For Us, Will Ryder Resign OR is that even what Beregevin wants.

When Milwaukee joined the AHL after the IHL folded, they were allowed to keep their IHL team name.
Cool thanks you two

Silfverberg, Zibanejad, Dziurzynski, Wiercioch, Gryba (never seen that name before)... Sens with the announcer lineup from hell
-
How did they get two "Admirals" anyway? You'd think they would have prevented that
-
Not worth Tinordi or Bealieau, would be an terrible terrible trade as both are top defensive prospects/who alone would be worth more or as much when in NHL.
Also, how would he fit in our lineup? We have Pleks and Chuckie in the middle for the foreseeable future and Eller has been doing well.
I would be really surprised if they traded for him and incredibly disappointed. -
DIETZ DEKES!

Under the head-scratching category, Rick DiPietro has been told he'll be waived today by the Islanders. I'm not sure what they're hoping to accomplish here. They have to know he won't be claimed, are they actually going to pay him to play in Bridgeport?
I would hate to be a Islanders fan... they always seem to come up in this head-scratching category

A look at the Calgary Flames. Its time for them to stop the charade and rebuild.

It was time a few years back :/

that second goal was really ugly play by cube and markov though
