I noticed that people have been saying we have been "bad for so long"... we were awful for a while but lets just look at some facts.
In the last six years...
Won Division 2 Times (07-08, 12-13)
Won Conference 1 Time (07-08)
Made it to the Conference Final Once (09-10)
Missed Playoffs Once
The Six Years before lockout we missed the playoffs 4/6 years. We were bad back then but we have come along way and have had some serious success.
Obviously we want cups, but we be proud of what the team has accomplished. More then any of the other Canadian teams recently (other then Vancouver).

Totally different player. in case you didn't know, Dats, and Berg aren't power forwards. Our two power forwards are Gio and Gally which is tough on them for obvious reasons.
I am going to assume thats a typo and you meant to say patches?
Last time I checked Gio, despite his best efforts, doesn't have the size to be a powerforward haha.

i hate that trade. Pleks is the best player in the deal and the second best is likely going to be Beaulieu.
I would love to have those guys but not at that cost. No way.
-
So...after this week's moves (Kristo/Briere/Parros) can we say we're reasonably better?
No. We are the same, which isn't that bad considering guys like Eller might improve play.
-
LeBrun now saying Habs are close to trading for toughness
4th rounder for a 4th liner
-
Seriously.. could we not have put forth a better offer then Silverberg, Noesen and a 1st rd pick
thats a pretty good offer tbh.

the SEL name change is screwing with my head so hard because I've been in a hockey player sim league named SHL for years...
-
i eat my words i thought he had no desire to play here.
Not a fan of this unless future moves change something

The KHL will be getting one helluva line next season:
Sergei Kostitsyn - Mikhail Grabovski - Andrei Kostitsyn
those three plus Komi, Ribero, Hainsey... lots of ex-habs out of a job now
-
-Ryane Clowe
-Matt Cooke
-Danny Briere
-Jagr
-PM Bouchard
-Theo Peckham
-Keith Ballard
-Valteri Fillpula
-Damien Brunner
Dont Want: Clowe or Cooke. - Clowe showed he was only a product of Jumbo Joe, Cooke is Cooke.
Don't Think We'd Get: Briere or Jagr. Briere won't sign in Montreal, Jagr just pretends he wants to sign here. Though I'd like Jagr for cheap (could be possible after those playoffs).
Want: Ballard (could be a steal if we play him on his actual side).
Don't really care/know enough about the rest to have an opinion.

Sadly, I live in Van as well (well, the outskirts - who can afford to live in the city?). My impression is that the tide has turned. Lou has changed a lot of minds with the classy way in which he handled this situation, as well as with the new, more relaxed image he's projected via Twitter and the media. Also people saw just enough of Schneider to realize that he was human. There will always be haters - remember, Montreal booed Saku Koivu - but I don't think he's going back to the snake-pit of a couple of years ago.
actually the hate has turn more on Gilles tbh.
-
Hmm. That'll cost us. He's a high-ceiling player prone to bouts of erratic play - including playoff sags - that have infuriated Canucks fans and drained their enthusiasm for him; but he could settle in nicely going forward as a #2 defender behind Subban. A $5 mil cap hit (plus a NTC) is pretty steep for a player who many feel will never "put it all together" as promised, so he comes with some asterisks, and much will hinge on the return.
after his chop on staal in the worlds i wouldn't want him.

I hope Im proved wrong, but I can't help feeling dissapointed by this draft. I thought project guys should be picked in round 3 or later, not 1st round. I'm glad we got our goalie depth but other than that, not planning parade routes anytime soon. As I said at the start, hopefully Im proved wrong.
yah i'm not a big fan of the first round pick but the 2nd round picks were home runs imo
-
If I were Lu I wouldn't want to play in Vancouver, I say this as a Vancouver resident, the hate is awful. He won't ever play with confidence there.
-
omg nashville drafted a d-man
-
Maybe Bergevin maybe should have taken Subban's deal last year
-
Drouin at 3, Seth Jones is slipping
-
Barkov at 2

From Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun:
Garrioch is rarely right but there isn't much in the way of rumours at the moment...
Thats probably just hot steam generated by Vinny L. rumors
-
Pheonix moves to Quebec and Quebec signs Vinny

You think Beaulieu is good defensively? He may be improving in Hamilton, but still a long way to go and he needs to hit the weight room hard also.
He didn't say that he is good now he said he could be in the future.
-
So Commandant how would you rate this draft looking at it now? Normally I hear a lot about a draft being weak, deep, or lacking top talent. Haven't heard anything about the general caliber of the draft, only hear about the big three.
-
I'm waiting for his address to Vancouver fans
-
I can hardly bear to watch because I want the Bruins to lose so badly. And I'm pessimistic than when they bring their "A" game, nobody can beat them.
Same here haha
I can't get anyone to go watch at the pub either.. I'm in Vancouver and no one wants to see a Chicago-Boston final

Gauthier was the true architect of the Great Gomer Saga
Houle = Complete destruction of Stanley Cup winning team... leading to the longest payoff drought in team history.
Edit: Okay wasn't the longest ever. Tied with the three year absence from 1919-1922. Course I'm pretty sure the year before this started was when we had players die from influenza....
