  1. Yes he has. In Vancouver, that was essentially his role and he handled it very maturely and did well (isn't a point machine, but still put up 10 points in 48 games last year and 19 in 82 the year before). He played 3rd/4th line in Vancouver. Plus, I think the prospect of playing with the likes of Prust and White, along with Moen and whoever the Habs might fetch for the bottom 6 would be tempting: Prust and White can fight, so he wouldn't have to do it as much, if at all, unlike when he was here last time. I'm not saying he would sign here 100%, but he would think about it hard for sure!
  2. Yes. Because the team isn't run by the same people that were there when he left.
  3. With the Winterhawks in the Juniors, he upped his point production year after year and got 64 points in 62 games and +6. in his last season. While there are players who have amazing junior careers and never perform at the pro level, you can't deny that there is potential.
  4. Fair enough. I just meant that they're trying to do their job while agreeing with you that if it's done excessively, citing things that have been heard gets annoying.
  5. Reason why I said still nothing official, I don't consider 25Stanley a reputable source myself. But it's still a way to start the hype train!
  6. Well hey, they want to get the big scoop, that how you get started in the media and become respected like McKenzie and Lebrun. You can't blame them! But then again, if you report too many false scoops, you lose cred.
  7. Just saw that too. Nothing official yet, I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow.
  8. TSN confirms: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=426938 7 Player Deal To Dallas: Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and Ryan Button To Boston: Loui Eriksson, Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser IMO, Boston just got seriously more dangerous. Loui Eriksson is a great offensive threat, Joe Morrow has good potential as a dman and Reilly Smith isn't a bad prospect too. Sure, losing Seguin hurts and he will be a franchise centerpiece in dallas, but Boston got the better prospects.
  9. Right now only source I found is Nicolas Poulin of 25Stanley via Alain Sanscartier, hockey analyst for Ottawa 94,5 FM and RDS collaborator. Nothing official yet, so stay tuned. Not sure how I feel about this. The price isn't that high and if Brière can stay healthy and consistent he will be a big help. However, we have a lot of small forwards now which leads me to believe Captain Gionta may be on his way out. If not him, i'm sure that a trade is in the works. Hopefully we can get some size in any upcoming transaction.
  10. I think we should consider bringing Maxime Lapierre back. He brings grit and physical play, would cater to the Quebec media and his faces made me laugh so hard when he was there! I'm all for the return of Happy Lappy. Of course, he's not the best guy available, but he'd be a nice fit on a line with White/Moen and Prust. Also, for offense and size, we should go after Horton, Clarkson or Iginla. If we can get ONE of those guys, along with Lapierre, we will have improved our team.
  11. Shame we never got to see what Kristo could do in a Habs uniform. He was a star player in college and in the USHL, he could've been an asset for us. However, Thomas had good junior stats with Oshawa and a decent year in the AHL last season while being only 21. Sure, he's 2 inches shorter and 20 pounds lighter than Kristo, which kinda goes against the policy the habs adopted at the draft, but f he's developed well, he could be a good player.
  12. That is such BS. The guy is nominated for coach of the year and a couple of minor charges costs him his job? If the Saints didn't fire Sean Payton, this guy shouldn't have been fired.
  13. The thing is the 2nd place finish hyped people up and we expected big things in the playoffsI expect us to finish lower than we did this season next year, I don't think we can keep that play up for 82 games unless we get bigger and tougher: guys like Clowe, Clarkson and Cooke could help us do that.. On trading Markov, I think it's a good idea if it helps in the long term. Giving him up along with our first rounder would only be viable if we got a young NHL-ready D for it. MB said it today, we will build through the draft. On the back-end, I agree we need a good 2-way guy because right now we only have Subban and that isn't enough. Emelin is developing into an awesome hitter who might be able to chip in offensively, Subban is becoming a true superstar, Tinordi will be a staple at our blue line for years to come, Beaulieu will be a good future powerplay quarterback, Diaz could be the QB for the time being, Gorges is a dedicated player and a leader despite a tough year and Bouillon has heart but he's getting old. Drewiske and Weber won't be back for sure. We have good potential on defense, we just need another two-way guy and we should be good.
  14. This question is probably a no-brainer, but we can't buy someone out of their contract with the new policy and then re-sign them to a less expensive one right?
  15. Galchenyuk and Pleks going to join USA and Czech Republic!
  16. Torres, Clarkson, Cooke and Clowe are some interesting UFAs to look at. Gionta imo needs to go, make room for the youngsters. He was a good captain, has heart, but isn't close to playing like he used to. My priority would be Ryane Clowe but he will probably be too expensive. I would go for Clarkson and Torres. Our forwards would look something like this: Pacioretty-Plekanec-Bourque Gallagher-Eller-Galchenyuk Moen-Desharnais-Prust Clarkson-White-Torres As for defense: Subban-Markov Tinordi-Gorges Diaz-Bouillon Once Emelin comes back, I think we should try and deal Bouillon and maybe trading Markov if Beaulieu is ready to come up to the big leagues. In nets: Price Budaj Price is still our #1 but I believe he needs to raise his game to a whole new level this year...
  17. Would put Bourque on the 1st line with Pacioretty and Plek, see where that does. As for Gionta, I would try and trade him, he's got 1 year left with 5 mil. Sure, that's expensive but i'm sure you can find a taker. Probably a team with a lot of cap room could take a chance with him. To fill the empty spot on the 3rd line by Gionta, I would look at Raffi Torres: good point production and defensive play. And I agree, signing Cooke for the 4th line would make us a tough team to play against and it seems like he's learned to control his dirty play and just start to play a physical game, which is what he is needed for. As for the D, until Emelin comes back, I would have Tinordi start with the team and Bouillon as 6th. Once Emelin is back, I would have Bouillon as 7th and we're set. Eventually, Beaulieu could join the team if he's ready. Then we'd have to trade whoever isn't living up to expectations. And of course in nets, Carey comes back is the #1 with Budaj backing him up. I really believe it's do or die for Carey this year, he needs to be top notch...at 26 he's supposed to be getting into his prime and needs to be consistent all year long and steal games once in a while. Budaj will be a fine backup. Pacioretty-Plekanec-Bourque Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher Prust-Desharnais-Torres Moen-White-Cooke Subban-Gorges Markov-Tinordi (Emelin when he's back) Diaz-Bouillon (Tinordi once Emelin is back) Bouillon (when Emelin is back) Price Budaj
  18. If we lose Tuesday night, we're done!
  19. I think it should be in the rules that you can get supended if someone is injured because of a play you made, even if it was legal...because in the end, the player that made the hit keeps playing while the other is in the hospital. Eller was vulnerable and I don't think Gryba was right to finish his check, he could've tried to poke check the puck away from him. And if not Kaberle, then Weber, maybe he would step it up. The thing i'm afraid of is that if Therrien takes out Diaz, he might think it's because of his pass to Eller and that will make him feel even more guilty, he will get demoralized and won't play good!
  20. Anyone think maybe putting in Kaberle isn't such a bad idea? He's the player on the Habs roster with the most playoff experience. Also, about the Eller injury, I think Gryba should be suspended because while we could argue it wasn't a dirty hit and the intention wasn't to cause Eller harm, in the end he still has a broken nose and concussion... Therefore, Gryba should get a suspension and i'm sure Shanahan will go that way! Price was simply terrible tonight on those last 2 goals, he was looking steady when it was 2-1 and then he fell apart! Diaz not only made a suicide pass to Eller, but his play was pretty bad tonight. Moen and Gionta should get less icetime, also DD and Gorges were mediocre! Prust should have dropped the gloves once play resumed after Eller's injury, would've fired up the habs...In the end, the loss is acceptable, we did everything right and Anderson basically stole this game from us. However, losing Eller hurts and no one can bring what he did to our lineup... We have to win tonight and I hope Price plays better. I would, however, consider Budaj, Price seems like he always crumbles when there's some opposition.
  21. Pierre Houde of RDS: Arrêt de la jambière de (pad save by) Patrick Roy!
  22. WOW that was so close thank god that wasn't Stamkos!!!
  23. 1:26 in we already look more agressive and comftable on the ice!! And DD going to the locker room, hope it's nothing serious
