I agree with the penalties, but it’s kinda hard when philly dresses Chris Lee. I know Petry’s interference was a penalty, but was it something routinely called in the playoffs? There has been an abundance of real soft penalties called against us this entire return to play.

Well last game when we had price out at the end of the game, a big juicy rebound popped out in the slot off of Hart and all 6 red sweaters were touching the boards. That could be an issue. Too much perimeter play, not enough traffic to the net. At some point you just need to goto the tried and true traffic at the net and throw everything towards it.

It’s scary to think what this series would look like if even Drouin and Armia got going. If we can get 2 of our 4 top-6 wingers going, we have a legitimate shot at winning the series as it’s been played so far. Gallagher, Domi, Armia and Drouin are virtually invisible most, if not all, the time.

Since when does a shot block get a whistle for an injury that's not blocked by a face?

The big difference between this game and the last is we aren't skating. Philly doesn't really look like their into it, but neither does the habs.

Vingeault made a great decision by dressing Chris Lee tonight. Gonna have a huge impact. Hart looked shaky on the 2 posts in a row. If they get some volume at him, I'm not sure he wouldn't crack again.

I know I'm late to the party, watching the replay of the game now. If anybody is left thinking the officiating in the NHL isn't rigged, watch the 3rd period of this game. First minute, Guentzel hooks Petry's foot out from under him obvious, blatant and deliberate, with 2 refs looking at it, 1 with unobstructed view 6 feet away, no call. Seven minutes later, the first chance they have to call anything, it's a stop up by Weise in which his foot clips McCann, PENATLY! Its atrocious.

Yet another sketchy at best call. I had to slow the reply down to see it was near the hands. Still not sure it was a real hook.

These Toronto announcers are brutal. Game 1 they actually said that Montreal is starting to get the crowd into the game.

So, on the habs PP, Lehkonin takes a cross check in front of the net after Armia's one-timer, no call. Pittsburgh PP Weber cross check Guentzel and habs get a penatly. Same play, only difference is Weber's was in the corner. I'm standing by the reffing is sketchy at best.

This post isn’t blaming one player for losing last night, but where’s Drouin? I had to check the stat sheet to see his name. He played 16 minute according to TSN, but I heard his name all of once last night. Apparently he lost a faceoff, gave the puck away 3 times, blocked a shot and was a minus 1. That’s 16 minutes of work right there. It’s embarassing.

Followed by a bad penalty.

Yet another really weak call against the habs. It’s almost as if the refs are looking for something to call.

They need to stop taking dumb penalties. The PK looks a lot better than the season, but they can’t rely on that.

I hope they get it under control. At the same time Pittsburgh got away with a few, one notable was Malkin dumped a habs defenceman, I didn’t see who it was, beside the net without the puck anywhere near while in front of the ref while Pittsburg was on a PP. Danault’s hook leading to the penalty shot and the hook in OT were very weak calls at best. I think the penalties could have been a bit closer, it just wasn’t called that way. Either way, they can spend a quarter of the game in the penalty box.

Can someone explain how Sheary got a penalty shot? The hook would be a weak call the best of times, but doesn’t the infraction have to take away the scoring chance to warrant a penalty shot? I saw absolutely nothing that took away a scoring chance other than Sheary just not shooting.

That return is pretty good

We have 2 2nds in this draft, a 2nd and a depth forward like Cousins or Thompson should get Gostisbehre. I know he should be valued higher, but for as much as he has been scratched and 3yr @ 4.5m has his value low. Philly is right up against the cap, the cap space alone is of real value to them, so they may take a 3rd and a cheap depth forward.

Of course a Leafs news site grabbed right on to it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Domi or Petry is worth Kapanen. Who would give up both and take terrible Ceci in that deal?

What happened to the habs team that played the first 2 periods? Third period starts, they start running into eachother, falling down, can't connect on a pass, skating lost in their own zone. That 3rd period was embarrassing. Something major has to change after what just happened.

Only problem with that is keeping them off the scoresheet. I have a feeling those 2 are going to pick our defence apart tonight.
