Our main problem is we need to upgrade (at whatever position we trade for) SO, we're going to have to "overpay" (players/+picks/+prospects) in order to get a "quality" player.

Here's what I'd do.........since this has degraded into a wish-list armchair GM thread and not a "rumor" thread Cut AK loose PERIOD (even for a mid round pick or let him walk) Better players have walked then him in the past. How long do we stick it out for his inconsistant half-assed play? Ya sure he has good games but also those where he's invisible Ya I know he's got his cheerleaders try to resign him, but WHY? More money and I'm assuming the SAME half-assed play

I just never like him.....maybe it started when McGiure was drooling over him (at the World Jrs) but IMO there are a few D I'd take over him at that price.....

Someone mentioned Bouwmeester..........PASS! What's his cap hit almost 7 MILL? Don't we have enough of those kind of players/contracts who are underpreforming/injured

I'd prefer this season to be over................ BUT I'd also prefer we QUIT drafting out of the US-college system for a while................or at least WAIT a couple rounds (like the other teams do..)

We need a "cap-ready" GM..................... It was (easier) in the past getting players signed (as long as they had the owners OK ) NOW they have a fixed budget to ice a "competetive" team........ And YES I think NEW BLOOD is needed also

PK took his share of the blame (when he sat and in the interviews afterwards) yet it seemed like Pleks got off scott free. Maybe PK mentioned he sat out for his crap play and asked Pleks how come he didn't have too..........

On the plus side 15 min to puck drop for Team Canada..................
