For some reason I got good feeling about Gregoire. Fucale beat on breakaway, good move; but short side on 2nd goal, he should of had.
-
Would be like the line of - 27-14-46 were several years ago and worth price of admission.
-
Addition of Vanek, just seems to have made Habs forward group seem a lot deeper. With Dogs out of playoffs (barring 10game run), how many will be called up and on Habs playoff roster, which is expanded isn't it? 3 or 4 of them?
-
I would have Tinordi in every game for next 20 years, he will occasionally f-up for next couple years as all young d-do; but love his wingspan reach and 'relative quickness' for a big growing kid, he is natural leader and with Prust gone, he is one who is not scared to drop em, or go for the big hit. Beaulieu may be a better NHLer than AHLer, got to love his quickness, confidence and puck skills. But can you afford to have 2 raw rookie d-men in top 6?
-
Pateryn wrist shot on the PP and 2-0 dogs and 2 frickin PP goals?
-
Beaulieu and Bournival in on PP goal, 1-0 dogs.

Prust Out For the Remainder of Season/Major Line Changes
DON replied to Lovett's Magnatones's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Other than shuffling players and love his effort; but, likely wont miss Prust too badly. If helps get Galchenyuk a centre role for several games and Bournival back in lineup that actually may be good. Eller-Weise-Moan may be a fast hitting 4th line also. -
11 games to get all sorted out before real season starts.
-
WIll 'Andrighetto centred' line fire as many pucks on net as last game? Prust being gone, moves Dumont/Blunden closer to 4th line call-up duty. Pateryn being back wont hurt.
-
Would love to hear de la Rose is on his way to Hamilton. Nice 'editorial' on prospects playoffs dlbalr. What is rumblings about not signing Vail? Didn't he even do very well in Hamilton stint last spring? Nevins likely be an Ian Shultz type and AHL is as high as go? But, also would like to see Sudbury disposed of quickly. Which Q-prospect of the Habs will shine the most in playoffs? Reway-Hudon-Gregoire-Fucale?
-
Well, hope he signs and maybe Pateryn will have a new roomate and old d-partner, he can mentor next week?
-
Sorry sir, just dont see how can success be stubborn over-coaching? Or am just thick-headed (more likely) and not sure what you mean Oh well, 94% chance of Habs making playoffs today, so Bergevin's 1st goal is almost a done deal and have 2 more entertaining games coming up and then 3 easily beatable teams next week, so all is good (too bad Lars is snakebit, he even made a good move on penalty shot but no result).
-
3rd best PK in the league and you are claiming that coachs are stupid for not playing different player? Odd take on that CC? But agree on Tinordi and am very pleasantly surprised more arnt down on him for 'Obyrne-like' error. In the fall, his confidence seemed to be shattered and took long time in Hamilton for him to get it back, hope he can put it behind him and shake it off.
-
Or simply working harder defending higher quality top opposing lines in playoffs (which is his #1 role).
-
An Ekblad or top 5 forward in draft will help but still a rebuilding team, with some nice pieces. Luongo has played on worse Florida teams.
-
Leafs have 60.2% chance of making playoffs.
-
I would put my money on Dietz-Thrower-Pateryn or maybe even Didier for RH d-man, but most are a few years away from NHL. Habs d are doing fine and RH-d likely not a big pressing issue for Bergevin. He will still be focused on a 'Vanek-like' winger to sign/trade for in summer. Who knows, maybe Nygren will grow up a bit and come back to Hamilton?
-
Markov spent 9:14 on the PK. Good game, just too many penalties. Will be interesting to se how Tinordi-Therrien react to turnover. Price had super game.
-
He is a Swedish MAB, with lots of one thing....offensive talent (which is good if you are a forward).
-
Is he maybe tradable for a pick or something? Or future considerations with Far''' BK? Can (or would they ever) NHL and SHL team make deal like that?
-
Yes, so does he need a C on his shirt? He does all but the 'media' part or speaking with Refs as much. Which he is likely fine with and prefers?
-
Nygren continues to add offense in SHL. What are odds he will ever be back in Hamilton?
-
Eller has more than 3x hits as Plekanec and most of any forward. Most blocks of any forward. Eller's faceoff % continues to climb and is 53% now, easily best of centres (Plekanec seems to be getting worse as season goes on, but has always been very weak on faceoffs, but his only glaring weakness). But, yes his hockey 'IQ' may not be, or ever be, his strong suit. But, if he ever gets that in order, he could be a super centreman and I just am not near as down on him as most.

Playoffs odds improved again last night and now @ 97.6%. Almost time to start thinking about resting minor injuries. Should be another entertaining match up today. Pacioretty due to score and hope hat trick gives Vanek a boost and should loosen his grip on stick.
