  1. Canadiens provided Cayden Primeau a stage, and he took full advantage to perform - The Athletic “Just the beginning,” he said, before skating off the ice to more applause.
  2. Was an entertaining game. Caufield 1a 6 shots, 5 points in last 5 games but 0 goals. Slafkovski with nice 1 timer; now with 14g20a, adding up. Roy, Newhook & Xhekaj had some nice plays. Glad Primeau was able to get shutout, he deserved it. St Louis started the Evans line and quickly paid off. 10 Thoughts: Primeau Stellar in Shutout Win – HabsWorld.net Canadiens scores three early, leave Cayden Primeau to do the rest (habseyesontheprize.com)
  3. Top picks at #6-7-8 (irrelevant i know but) Just seems a bit better chance of an elite d-man this year at pick 7 or 6, than a forward. No matter what Habs current roster needs are.
  4. Habs been sitting in 6th or 7th worst for long time now, picks 2-10 look to be a tossup who will likely go where. Just would prefer to see someone take Eiserman & Silayev in top 5 or 6. Any of rest of top prospects look like pretty darn good options to me, be it forward or D.
  5. Or a top pairing offensive d-man would work. Given Reinbacher/Guhle unlikely to be scoring a bunch. A Matheson replacement like; Dickenson or Parakh, if Dadinov & Catton are gone, would be fine by me.
  6. And sit Suzuki for 1 game also, simply to get rid of that ironman streak, am sure he is or has played though stuff for no good reason but the streak, wouldnt you say?
  7. Because of the one rebound that then bounced in off Tavares?
  8. He is 22 and it his 4th year in the NCAA, he should stand out. Hope your right, i still doubt it. (thought same about Struble, so what do i know)
  9. Pezzetta just got a boost in hits, they recalibrated what they call a hit or are using video to track em better, or something like that. He was happy, as he was complaining at his hit stat line after games was wrong. So he does take pride in that stat.
  10. Tuch isnt much of a prospect, is he? He seems like he can forecheck and be physical, but thats about it isnt it?
  11. Ylonen 24 yrs old now. 22-23 37gms 6g 16pts 23-24 51gms 3g 7pts Gonna be a RFA, will he even be offered a contract by Habs? Heineman is 2years younger and maybe he will take that bottom six spot next season?
  12. Will Tuch be signed? Guindon 2g1a 1st star of game Sobolev 1g/Xhekaj missed the 2nd game of suspension
  13. No surprise, Pezzetta is basically #1 forward in the NHL in hits/60minutes.
  14. Assists #19 & 20, well done Mike Matheson (9) C. Caufield (32), J. Slafkovsky (19) Alex Newhook (10)PPG J. Slafkovsky (20), M. Matheson (37) 21:23 3 shots 5 hits, busy game for him.
  15. We will see how he does with more regular starts for the next month anyways.
  16. Not sure anyone have him ranked in top 6 or 7 do they; once look at all the quality d-man who will go high this year and some other impressive forwards like; Lindstrom, Celebrini, Dadinov, Catton, or Helenius? But; then again, maybe Iginla is the 2024 version of a Brady Tkachuk/Quinn Hughes that Habs shouldnt overlook for a Kotkaniemi?
  17. Bogdan 0pts 24:33, end of KHL playoffs for him & Torpedo. 5gms 1pt. Engstrom 1a 16:55; 21pts in 50gms SHL Kapanen 1a 23:15; 34pts in 50gms Liiga Fowler 'didnt play'; injured, sick or just back-up?
  18. 37pts 57gms, how soon will he get called up for his 1st solo pre-game lap as a Hab? Not saying it should be today, just wondering.
  19. Logan Mailloux Does it Again Scores a Beauty/Sean Farrell Continues to Shine/Simoneau (1G/1A) 3-9-24 (youtube.com) Mailloux had a nice give & go goal in 3rd period. Rocket playoff push gets boost with weekend sweep - Habs Eyes on the Prize Mailloux made nice play on this goal also. "Before the intermission, the Rocket tied it up with a power play goal of their own. Logan Mailloux made a diving stop to keep the puck in the zone, then fed Lias Andersson at the right halfwall. He fed it down low to Gignac who centred the puck to Xavier Simoneau at the top of the crease for the goal. The goal was scored with 58 seconds left in the first period." Gignac with 7 point weekend.
  20. Hutson 2a, 43pts in 32games. (he had 48 in 39games last year) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwyfpgSR33M
  21. 3:00 EST rematch game today, on RDS Gignac had 3 point game yesterday, how will he do this afternoon.
  22. Would of been nice to be running out this line for the last 18 games;Newhook-Dach-Roy Oh well, hope the Habs keep it close and score a few.
  23. A full team effort earns Laval Rocket a big win over Monsters (habseyesontheprize.com) Pretty ugly lookin.
  24. Imagine Roy likes hearing Hughes discussing him like this. Not sure what the fancy stats say about Roy's play, but he seems to be a smart player and is doing well. Hughes: ‘Allen’s going to be missed’ | Montréal Canadiens (nhl.com) Hughes on the paper moves filed for Joshua Roy (and Jayden Struble): The plan would have always been to paper him. The decision comes down to the timing of things, like how much we’d like Laval to make a real push to try to get into the playoffs. We’re hoping that some of our young players can join Laval and help push [for a spot in the playoffs] and benefit from that experience of a playoff run. So, we have to balance that with what we think helps Josh the most, and what we think helps the Montreal Canadiens the most, and for the time being, we’re going to keep him here. I can't tell him – or anybody for that matter – how long that's going to be; it's something we're going to evaluate on a day-to-day basis.
