  1. Roclet was hemmed in for almost 2 minutes, finally, Mailloux iced the puck to get a respite 3min to go
  2. they score, the PK looked passive on that one. But they have been playing well all game. Rocket needs to win in regulation time
  3. Stephens gets called for sending the puck over glass with his glove, with 6:17 to play. Faceoffs are going to be a factor here.
  4. 7:42 to play in the third. Laval leading by one. They are managing the clock well
  5. Syracuse is leading Utica 4-3 at the end of 2. Utica could be eliminated today
  6. I thought it was a penalty by Barron earlier, it was Condotta. But Barron was the one messing up leading to that penalty
  7. thank goodness for Dobes on the 2nd half of that period. 2-i good guys
  8. faceoffs are an issue on the PK. Laval hanging on
  9. Another penalty by Trudeau with one minute to go in the 2nd
  10. a bit less than 3 min left in the 2nd. Laval still leading. The Laval french play-by-play keeps praising Tuch's game, sahys he is playing like if he had been with the Rocket all season. It is true he does not look out of of place. He uses his size very well and is quick on his skates. Mailloux tends to control the game when he has the puck, very confident on the ice. Reinbacher is having a strong game too. I am impressed with how well the team is playing. They do not have any elite scorers, but they do have solid prospects with a future in the NHL
  11. PK kept it 2-1. Then shortly after, Betts slid into Dobes. Physical play is starting to pick up
  12. so far with 7:48 to go in the 2nd, the faceoffs have not been an issue. But Barron just made two errors on a clearing shot by the Sens: he was beaten to the pick and then took a tripping penalty. Let's see what happens
  13. Bongiovani gets one goal back, on a broken play by Laval when entering the offensive zone. The Sen's player was hiding behind the D waiting for the pass 2-1
  14. a "big men"'s goal by Anderson, with Tuch and Cederqvist creating havoc in the o-zone. 2-0 Laval
  15. a bad goal by Sogaard gave the Rocket a one goal lead, the revamped defense helped them survive a series of penalties. Game is not too physical, but the Rocket has definitely a bigger team than usual with young Xhekaj and Tuch in the lineup. Dobes has been good when needed. The Rocket is loosing most faceoffs, let's see if in the 2nd that makes a differnece, with the benches further away for changes
  16. Unless the Habs can draft a potential elite forward, I will take either best player available even if it is a LD, or I would trade down or out to get a young prospect with high potential like Newhook and Dach.
  17. Kovacevic is a very good 3rd pair RD at this stage of the Habs rebuild. By this and other metrics.
  18. I just read a headline about Engstrom. Isn't Bogdan Konyushkov also a strong prospect? For sure, the prospect pipeline has been fixed, notably by MB stubbornly insisting on not trading prospects and HughGort using expiring contracts and veterans smartly on trades for young talent. Now, it is time to start putting a team that competes together.
  19. I have been following the Rocket all season to see how much the D prospects are progressing to then try to guess what HughGort may do with the NHL roster. I am not knowledgeable enough to predict how much more to expect from Harris. He seems to me like an ideal 3rd pair LD on a cup playoff team. At the AHL level, Trudeau has sometimes been good but I do not remember any analyst of commentator reporting that has has been great for any significant stretch. So, on LD, it is a question of whom the Habs can develop to be a top-4 out of Hutson/Xhekaj/Struble.They each have teh potential, with Hutson's being off-the-charts. On the RD, I believe Savard will be traded at the deadline; so the Habs ahve the bare minimum to fill all the spots on that side at the NHL level. Kovacevic is a great asset to have on RD. I would be patient for another year, while looking for the best trade return for Savard before the trade deadline.
  20. I just hope the injury curse phantom passes over Hutson. I wonder how he sill do against physical NHL play, much like Harris had to adapt his game.
  21. too bad Simoneau is out for the season and Gignac is not clear to play yet. I hope that if Gignac plays, he is fully recovered. Without his speed, he is not the same player.
  22. Savard Will implode in his old age like Weber. I hope they trade him at the next deadline to improve the team.
