I do not remember ever seeing a contract that included a salary of player remained in junior. is that new?
-
Is it possible that the announcement that the AHL season was cancelled may have a link to waiting to sign?
-
If the CH did not do that for Markov, I don’t want them to do it for Buff
-
Oh no ! 😮 I was hoping he could still be hidden another season. I think that settles the bottom pair in : Mete-Juulsen
-
I would keep Mete in the minors to give him top pairing minutes and see if he develops some offensive. I would let him define who he is. I do not want the Habs to extend Petry. That would leave a spot for Juulsen, Fleury or Mete and one for the new top pairing LD. Chiarot is a good player to help the Habs bridge over their depth gap
-
He would also need to be protected in the expansion draft, which makes him a candidate to keep to shelter others
-
Thanks for the replies, I liked Markov but it seems to me that we are romanticizing his legacy. He was not a great one, same as Saku: he was the "least worst" we had at the time. Almost elite but not dominant.
-
La Presse is having a year per year review of the drafts. Timmins is a good evaluator of talent despite the flack he gets
-
Was Markov a better defenseman than Subban ? Just asking, not trolling
-
Cross my fingers ...
-
Great news, but I feel bad for Mete. I hope he is not the one D that is squeezed out.
-
I'll stick with 3x$6M because at age 27 Domi could negotiate his lucrative UFA contract while giving the CH some options to trade him ahead of that.
-
That sounds reasonable 3 years at $6M AA$

Covid time-killer: Rank the coaches!

I think Carbo got a raw deal by uncle Bob. I also think Gainey was overrated as a coach because most of us like him as a player and refuse to look at his record: # Name Term[d] Regular season Playoffs GC W L T/OT PTS Win% GC W L T Win% int Bob Gainey 2006 41 23 15 3 49 .598 6 2 4 — .333 23 Guy Carbonneau* 2006–2009 230 124 83 23 271 .589 12 5 7 — .417 int Bob Gainey 2009 16 6 6 4 16 .500 4 0 4 — .000 -
Me neither, but when I tried to look at the roster and identify the top 6 and top forward prospects that will need ice time: I got stuck at trying to figure out where Domi fits and what his value is to the team Individually, on “paper”, he should be a core player; but I am not convinced he has earned that yet on this team. Reminds me of O’Reilly before going to St-Louis

With the rumors about resuming the 2019-2020 season this summer; maybe it is time to start watching for Max Domi's contract extension. How much is a 0.67 PPG 24 year old forward worth? Covid time-killer: Rank the coaches!

Perron was a disaster, better known for his catch phrases in French than for couching. his team won because they decided not to let bad coaching get in the way Therrien was <insert explicit adjective> and Boucher never established himself as a respected winking coach The Habs are batting .500 in quality coaching -

1. Jacques Martin: smart, can squeeze the most out of the talent he is handed, is not easily upset. 2. Claude Julien: Can still learn and get better, needs a few players that play his style to anchor team 3. Guy Carboneau: smart, unconventional, able to find ways to get resutls if players buy in. 4. Michel Therrien: if he wasn't an A-hole, he would be higher. Gets results 5. Bob Gainey: steady hand, but cannot overachieve with lesser talent in team 6. Randy Cunneyworth: scape goat that deserved better treatment -

I was thinking the same, they have UFA goalies in Kincaid and McNiven and now it is probable they will send Lindren out. Once they sign the NHL backup -
PK’s body didn’t keep up with his ego, Markov was healthier for a longer time than PK I liked Markov and it was clear he was under appreciated. I soured on him when he didn’t resign with the team, but his better days were behind him. He typifies for me the CH of the first decade of 2000: exceeded expectations and was exciting to watch but never a contender
