  1. Trudeau is too slow to be a 6/7 D. And he is not physical to play a shut down or even to box out opponents. When he is playing well in Laval, he is generating offense. IMHO he is an emergency call-up, depth D. At least from the games I've watched.
  2. I do not think he will make it to the NHL, he doesn't have a shot to be a winger and he does not have the the size to be a center. But his hands and vision makes him a fringe NHLer
  3. 5th place in the north division, but 2 games more than others
  4. I just finished watching the game, they hung on for the win but it could have gone to the Sens if Dobes had not played so well. The play-by-play guys were praising Farrel's game, he did not stand out to me but maybe I do not appreciate his style that much. He had some flashes making some excellent passes, but he was quiet otherwise. Stephens played great on defensive assignments. Norlinder-Barron was not as disastrous as I thought it may be. They played well. Trudeau was obviously energized by the sell out crowd. He seems to be that type of players that raises to the bigger games. Paquestte-Bisson and Reinbacher were just amazing shutting down the other team whenever they were on the ice. Let's hope they continue playing well, and that they come into the playoffs on a hot streak
  5. 1-0 after 2 periods. Perreault scores his 8th of the season and stops a long drought. Barron continues to play well (as per play-by-play guy). IMHO he looks more at ease on the ice and is not forcing plays anymore. The Rocket is taking too many unnecessary penalties, but Dobes has been strong
  6. This is good news for Habs fans. The Rockets's play by play is in french on AHL.tv but you may be able to listen to the TSN690 broadcast (if they are broadcasting) and get the video feed from the AHL.tv
  7. that is what I wish for Josh too. When MB traded for him, many said that he had never been a top-6 and that he would not be a solution long-term. The contract was not a good move. He is the type of player than in the series, if he gets hot, he can be a back breaker; but he has never been consistent enough to get you into the playoffs === I am so glad the season is almost over
  8. He was injury to start ths season, day-to-day with a wrist injury. Then Nov 15 to Dec 14 he was out with an upper boddy injury. He was hurt again from Jan 17 to Feb 10 and missed a couple of days mid-March. IN March, once he was healthy he improved, to the point when some on this board were commenting that maybe the Habs should offer him a PTO or a minimum salary contract. I made the point at that time that the organization and him were walk away at the end of his contract. I think I even posted comments from journalists saying something similar. I know there was chatter about it. I am happy for him in COL, I wish him well.
  9. I hope not, I am enjoying watching Laval's run and hoping that they make it through the play-in
  10. Drouin was a good soldier, when he was moved to center he said he was not comfortable there but that he would do it to help the team. I believe that is the season he got smacked in the wrists and played through that until he couldn't. He was not big or physical to power though face-offs. He was screwed then by coaching and screwed by management when he came back too early on a few occasions. It was only when Ducharme was hired that there was a concerted effort to do right by Drouin but that whole episode did not pan out not because of Drouin due to Ducharme's own struggles. Under MSL Drouin played well, he improved all season but it was already determined he would not be re-signed. I am surprised not more remember that.
  11. a very good chance this week for Laval to take a serious hold on a playoff spot (or play-in). With two games against Belleville next weekend and a game against the bottom team in their division. If they continue playing well, they should make it.
  12. They take over 5th place at 1 point of 3rd place
  13. with 58 seconds to go, Cederquist scores the empty net goal. 4-1 Rocket Kaskisuo has been strong after that first goal. Great road win
  14. nice save by Kaskisuo on a LVL PP. the Marlies had a break away on their PK. Barron almost scored on the PP Fun game 11:25 to go
  15. a few great saves by Kaskisuo, leads to a great outbreak pass by Reinbacher. Farrelll finishes it. 3-1 good guys!
  16. 2-1 mid-way through the 2nd. Barron is having an excellent defensive game. After a ad goal by Kaskisuo, he redeemed himself with a great save, and shortly after McKay and Bourque made it 2-1 It's a good game by Laval, so far
  17. I recap of yesterday's game: https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/laval-rocket-belleville-senators-2024-03-23-ahl-recap-score-highlights-jakub-dobes-guides-crucial-mini-sweep-logan-mailloux-david-reinbacher/
  18. Thay have tied Belleville for the 5th spot but are only 3 points away from 3rd. A win today against TOR would solidify their playoff chances. Kaskisuo will play against his old team this afternoon, I hope he has a good game.
  19. thanks. I missed yesterday's game, but it seems he played. SOme comment's I've read is that he is in the middle of a scocring drought. He will not play against TOR this afternoon. I was a fan of Misak, I didn;t think he had NHL potential, but liked how hard he trained and how hard he played despite his lack of size and skill. Perault is a better gamble for the Habs organization, but he is not helping LVL right now in their puch for the playoffs. He needs some time to adjust.
