Have to disagree with the last paragraph and also want to make a note on Erixon, the lack of mention to his bad attitude and refusal to sign with Flames is a big flaw and Nikolai Zherdev really never fell apart, he had a good year with the Rangers before going to Russia, when Philadelphia signed him, Zherdev had a very good points total for playing roughly 8 minutes a game most of the season. Homophobia and Racism are completely different, Xenophobia and Racism are almost the same. I knew what you meant but your statement could imply you view homosexuals as a separate race. I have no problem with what Tim Thomas said, nor did I have a problem with him not going to the white house, it is not as if he is saying that homosexuality should be illegal or gays should be killed. The uproar is because a famous person has views that don't conform to a society in which having any contentious idea's is a crime, famous people have to support the view of the noisy minority not what they actually believe, I give credit to Thomas for coming out and being honest about what he believes in.

Semin got 21 goals last season, playing third line minutes with third line linemates, he also got 54 points on a defence orientated Capitals, playing said third line minutes. He was second on the team in points behind Ovechkin...

Semin played a great defensive series against the Rangers, he was one of the main reasons they beat the Bruins in the first round. 2009 - The Pittsburgh series Semin got a couple of assists 2010 - Halak/Gill/Gorges stopped Semin, who still played well 2011 - The entire Caps team was terrible against Tampa, against NYR, he was great 2012 - key against Boston, played great defensively against NYR

Semin got 54 points, 2nd on Washington behind Ovechkin who had 66, and Semin played for most of the season with Chimera and Johansson (until Backstrom went down) then after that is was Perrault, hardly linemates for a top 6 player, a grinder and an AHL cente, Semin's play down the stretch got the Caps into the playoffs essentially and there are a lot of Caps fans pretty annoyed with GMGM for not resigning him already though there are also a lot who are happy he hasn't been signed, but dissapointed that they don't have a replacement for the goal and points totals. The bad rep in regards to Semin is mainly due to his nationality, and Dale Hunter is a better person to hear from than TSN panelists and the rest of the North American media who do slander Europeans and to a larger extent Russians especially about work ethic and general effort. I love Sasha as a player and would love him as a Hab, but Montreal just isn't the right fit for him, we don't have a good enough team, nor do we have a real amount of cap space to sign him. Pittsburgh, New Jersey and Washington are the only real fits for him, and I hope to God that he stays with the Caps. On an unrelated note, please can they just change his name to Syomin already, that is how it should be spelled in its English form, the same as Kovalev was really Kovalyov haha. If we got something like the Kessel trade for Subban, I would be more than happy to do it really. Even though he is our future top D, if you get the kinda deal Boston did for Kessel, it is worth it.

It's not Therrien who would be the biggest stumbling block in Sasha ever succeeding in Montreal, it would be the fact we have barely any Russians.

My optimism wants England to get 0 points, and Ireland are in a group with a team which isn't good, England don't have Rooney for Sweden and France, and Roy Hodgson picked a lot of mediocre players as injury replacements aswell as in the initial squad and even with Rooney back for the game against Ukraine, I can't see them winning or drawing, Ukraine are too strong in their homeland. Sweden I can't see beating Ukraine or France, though they will be close games.
