  1. woah ! ... Striet !! made up for not covering his man on that shorty
  2. Yes please ! ... please trade Kovy at the end of the season .. we don't need Kotsy , Grabovski , Emilin , and Perez learning his lazy habits.
  3. I don't think he'll resign with Edm. KLowe blew that chance when he signed everyone else but him this last offseason ... they gave Hemsky a 6 yr deal , Lupul , Roloson & Horcoff 3 yr deals ... Pisani a 4 yr deal ... all for way too much then they were worth ... and they save they're best player , team leader , face of the franchise for last when theres's nothing left ??? what the hell is that ? that's an insult and slap in the face. I believe that's why he didn't sign ... he's going to be an UFA and will probably get what he wants from some team ... he's given Edmonton a team discount twice in the last couple years ... he signed 1yr after 1yr deals hoping to get a long term deal and KLowe strung him along because he knows he's so loyal to the organization. I will be extrememly sad if he was to re-sign with Edmonton ... I know why he would ( family ) but If I were him i'd show Kevin Lowe who's #1
  4. why acquire a goalie ? we have one in Abby ... if Carbo would just give him a chance to play a few games in a row and not once a week he might be able to get out of the funk he's in ... of course the team needs to play better in front of him as well.
  5. haha I guess we'll find out or not on the day the headline says " Michael Leighton is on waivers "
  6. If i'm reading correctly in section ( j ) that only players recalled after the "deadline" can go back without having to pass though waivers ... but wouldn't that mean that Leighton would have to pass waivers to be sent down since he was not called up ? and see what I get for not reading the whole thing !
  7. in the CBA in Article 13.2 ( from NHLPA.com ) says that the waiver period shall start on the 12th day before the clubs season starts until the last day of that clubs playing season. I would have copied and pasted it but the pdf has a security password that prevents copying .. you can only print it.
  8. what trade ? Leighton was placed on waivers yesterday ... and has 24 hours to be claimed .. that's the deadline they were talking about ... he was claimed by the habs before the 24 hour period. and if they're was a deadline then I guess teams won't be able to send players to the minors ? only ones that wouldn't have to clear ? again then whats the point of having a waiver system. that means that Leighton & Garth Murray are stuck on the Habs NHL roster and can't be sent down for the rest of the year ??? doesn't make sense to me.
  9. I dont' believe there is a deadline for waivers ... it goes until the end of the season. that way teams can still send down players
  10. I know but wouldn't it be fun ? ... cause if he sucked ... no habs fans could complain that he's getting paid too much for what he's worth. cause the habs wouldn't be paying him.
  11. well if Halak is sent down and Huet comes back .. by then Leighton will get put on waivers again before the playoffs start ... then either someone else will claim him or he'll be sent to the minors after that.
  12. maybe we should trade for him and make the Rangers pay they're half of his salary .. that way we don't pay him anything and no cap hit !
  13. intersting ... that's kinda crappy because the rest of his salary doesn't hit Washington's cap ? seems alittle unfair.
  14. Then what's the point of waivers ?? waviers is supposed to help players like leighton who have been in the league long enough to go to a team that can use him on they're NHL team ... what's the point of having a team lose a player they want to send to the minors only to have them taken by another team to be sent to they're minors.
  15. his cap hit is still 8 mil for the NYR ... they only pay half his salary ... you can't split cap hits or salaries anymore ... the only reason this is allowed is because the trade deal was done before the lockout.
  16. at what expense ? he makes $8 mil a year as well. BG doesn't want to sacrifice the furture for a chance to win one round .. if the habs were lighting it up and in 4th still ... I think we'd be seeing bigger moves from BG.
  17. I don't think the habs need wingers ... they need a center and if Biron did go for a first it was probably for Nashville's first ... I highly doubt they used they're lottery pick to get a UFA goalie
  18. They can't send him to Hamilton unless he clears waivers again if i'm not mistaken ( which is how the habs got him anyways ) ... so he's with the big club unless they want to possibly lose him.
  19. Josef Stumpel ... might do well with Kovy ... he had his best year in LA when he was playing with Palffy.
  20. Not bad for TB ... O'Brien is 6'3" 237lbs and only 23 ... sounds alot like a one Mike Komisarek but nastier and will drop the glove more often ( 140 PIMS ). He'll be a solid top 4 dman for awile and like smon mentioned .. he's cheap. Stats ... 2g 12a 14 pts 140 PIMs +5

    Wow

Agreed ... I just can't believe how nieve B.Murray was about the whole thing ... he should have known .. clean or not that the Neil hit on the CAPTIAN would lead to retaliation. He was dumb and sent out his best players to get slaughtered ( although they didn't do too bad ) Buffalo had last change and when Murray sent out Spezza and Heatley ... Ruff said screw you, get out there goons.

    Wow

I thought this was halarious ... Emery looked like a kid in a candy store It really makes me want to watch that game on Saturday .. and who says fighting doesn't = ratings ?
  23. I'm sure the Habs would have to throw in more than Zhogs to get horton.
  24. Yeah .. techincally they are a club team ... they're part of the PAC 8 with UCLA and some other northern cali teams ... USC plays they're games at the rink I play at ... they're not that great :puke:
