They're losing battles and Pittsburgh is controlling the play down low. Habs are taking lazy penalties , taking they're hands off there stick ( holding ) and not skating. They're not keeping they're sticks on the ground ( hooking ) and not skating.

Seriously turn the tv off and stop watching the game if it's going to make you say stupid things like that. If the Habs would stop being lazy and skate then the refs won't make all these calls ... the game is over because the Players want it to be over ... they don't want to play and it looks like they don't want to be there .. they've got the whole " refs are making us lose " crap in there head so it's ok to give up ... the way you over come ref's , bad bounces is to PLAY HARDER ... they only reason they will lose this game is because they don't care.

This team is capable of winning the division ... and also capable of missing the playoffs ... it's going to be what ever the players want to do. It's all in they're minds. Special Teams is great ... 5 on 5 blows ... what does that mean ? they don't play hard enough. During the Islander game yesterday the announcers for MSG network commented that Montreal plays so much harder on special teams than 5 on 5 ... and they're right. The habs problem is they still don't have enough size .. and the size they do have doesn't bang and crash enough. Also this team does not have a 1st line anymore ... they have 2 2nd lines. Kovalev needs to pull his head out of his *** and be the go to guy ... oh and don't give me that he plays better in the playoffs crap .. he makes 4.5 mil a year to play the regular season too ... not just the playoffs ... and btw players don't get paid for the playoffs. If BG can pull off a Sammy + 2nd rounder for Forsberg I'd be all for it. Reason being is then even if you lose Forsberg in the off season you basically open up a roster spot for some more kids. and free up some money to sign someone else. I'm also hoping BG moves Kovy out as well ... maybe even Ryder. but for now. This is what I would do if that trade went though. Ok first ... LA will not trade for Souray, they are in last place in the west, why would they trade for a pending UFA when they can just try to sign him in the off season ??? 2nd .. Sean Avery can't hit for crap ... all he does is skate fast, dive, run his mouth, miss open nets with his brick hands, takes bad penalties and would get roasted by Habs fans and the media. WHY WOULD BG get this guy ? as for Forsberg ... well he would definatly help if the habs are serious about trying to win the cup .. even though he's injury prone he still has 28 points in 30 games and is clutch in the playoffs ( just like alot of people here say about Kovalev ) ... he would also make some other players better as well ... namely Ryder. The Fourth Period.com is reporting that BG is trying to package Sammy, Abby and a pick to get him and does not want to part with a prospect. I would be happy to see that trade go though ... to get Forsberg for someone who hasn't done anything and a back up goalie. The lines would look pretty sweet Higgins , Forsberg , Ryder Lats, Koivu , Kovalev perez , bonk , johnson begin , plecks , lapierre/downey

Here is the main problem. SPEED ! the team is supposed to have it but it doesn't use it. Think about it .. in the "New NHL" isn't speed supposed to dominate ? if it is why are the Habs LAST in power plays for ? If they were truly using they're speed wouldn't they be first in the league ? The team has so much speed but yet they're 6th in penalties. WHY ? if your faster than the other guy why hook ? hold ? etc. it's because they're lazy , out of position. I still think the lack of size on this team is killing them ... even in the "new NHL" size still matters. size and speed is what the good teams have.

the Det game was on OLN and the annoucers there basically said they felt that samsonov is taking Gui's ice time and carbo would be better off having Gui on the 2nd line and having sammy sit. ... I tend to agree because even if Gui doesn't score he provides alot more to the line than sammy does while he's not scoring.

They probably shouldn't even play a game anymore .... they should just make it a big skills compitition .. each team can send there three best players ( shooter, skater, goalie, etc ) ... just celebrate the game and get the fans actually involved with contests and games ... have average people go one on one's with real goalies ( of course fans that can actually play alittle ) etc ... something like that .... a game doesn't really mean anything ... unless they wanted to make it an outdoor pond game or something different like that. Or better yet .. make it like a nascar event ... where they use a football stadium .. have a bunch of tail gate parties ... make like 6-8 rinks on the field / or outside and have the pro players actually take the time to help people learn how to play the game and interact with fans. would be something different then maybe have a real game like they did with that outdoor mtl vs. edm game.

well sorry but I didn't read that post ... I've also been saying that in other threads from long ago .. even before Higgins came back ... but it's all good

Although I personally would try to move sammy ... I don't think Carbo has really giving him a chance ... now don't take my head off but why can't he try different lines ? scoring has been terrible lately for ALL the lines ... why not change it completely up and see what happens. I would do this Lats , Koivu , Kovalev Sammy , Higgins , Ryder Pleck , Bonk , Johnson Streit , Begin , Perez I would leave the D the way it is for now ... splitting Sammy and Kovy needs to happen .. they both try to hold onto the puck too long and niether one want's to get open or drive the net.

I was at the Kings vs Wings game last night and there were missed calls all over the place for BOTH teams. It happens ... the refs are not perfect .. and YES I've been a ref before .. it's not an easy job. The only people that lost this game were the Habs players and no one else. Where was the offense ? no where to be found from what I saw. If the Habs want to win a cup they're going to have to over come things like this. if they don't then they won't be a good playoff team. Aebischer4life .. don't come in here and start ranting and raving , cursing up a storm .. talk about the game , the refs , the calls ... but be civilized k ... if you don't like how the refs do things then go to ref school and take they're job and ref the games yourself. :ghg:

Well when the car manufacturers decide to come out with an SUV or Truck that can perform as well as they do now without any omissions , doesn't use gas and cost the same or less, then I'm sure everyone would scoop them up

Hopefully Kotsy can develop into a Marian Hossa type player .. he's got the frame and the shot ... if he can stay committed to playing like he is now by driving the net and being a power forward ... he'll be a top 2 line player next season for sure ... if not , then he will unfortunately become another Marcel Hossa

I haven't seen the replay but if what you guys say is what happened then Peca should have taken the hit ... sound like he exposed his limbs when he should have just taken the hit in the shoulder / chest ... I think that most of the time it's safer to take the hit than try to avoid one.

Agreed .. I'd rather see Plecks moved before either of those two.

This wouldn't work ... the top two teams would not want to have two weeks or more off after the season to wait and see who they play because they get a bye
