  1. Brampton has signed Corey Durocher who was a 4th year player for Carleton University. Seem to like guys from Carleton
  2. I think I could have talked my way into a ticket but I think I am still deaf from an AHL Bulldogs game a few years ago with over 15,000 kids-man those little girls sound like a jet taking off
  3. Tuesday-Beast win an 11am (home) school day game over Adirondack 3-0 and jump into the division lead. Jordan Henry, Brandon MacLean and Brandon Marino were the scorers. Last one s/h empty net. Fucale's second straight shutout.
  4. Beast continue hot streak beating Florida Everblades 3-0 this afternoon. Goals: Auger (17), Pacan (32), and Vallorani (25) Shots on goal-42 to 26 for Florida (Fucale had an excellent game). Penalty kill was excellent after referee Pudifant (?) put us in the hole most of the first period
  5. lost tonight in a shoot out in Adirondack 4-3. Had to score three in the third to send the game to O/T. D'Agostini in goal had a good game. Referee Thomson didn't ('nuff said)
  6. wondering who the English broadcaster will be? Hoping its not Bob Cole who I don't think sees what is actually going on or Dave Randorph who has an odd lisping style. There has got to be some better talent available
  7. Beast just knocked off league leading Manchester 6-5 in o/t. D man Reggie Traccitto is the hero. Team blew a 4-2 lead in the third and came back really late to tie it in the third. Will have to check box score but I think David "Pacman" Pacan just got goals 30 & 31
  8. couple Brampton transactions : have signed Laurentian U Capt Vincent Liorca (native of France) and released D man MacKenzie Braid and long time goalie Bryan Pitton (A Brampton native who has been with the team almost since its' inception)
  9. Josiah Didier on his way from Brampton back to the Rock
  10. good 3-2 comeback win over Wheeling today (goals by Ling-Henry-Auger). Didier and Crisp were throwing their big bodies around. Nice to have Willie Corrin back from the Marlies. Good family day crowd (wondering if Dalton thrower is going to play again this season). Ling got into a yelling match with Nailer Daryl Lloyd in the warmups. Makes me wonder if the linesmen should be out in warmups like in Jr games.? They were roughing each other all game-maybe a continuation of things from the last game in Wheeling. Wheeling Coach is Jeff Christian (the Cdn one) who is a minor league vet. Assistant coach is Riley Armstrong, another minor league vet, who had a cup of coffee with the Hamilton Bulldogs a few years back
  11. Beaulieu was horrible in Hamilton and has not improved. Selfish player
  12. Beast won 6th in a row with a 7-4 comeback in Indianapolis this afternoon. Have to hand to the team. They had bus legs in the second after a four hr trip from Toledo where they won in OT Saturday. Should be noted too that the ECHL play with a very short bench-Friday night was 3 lines plus David Ling as a floater and 5 D
  13. I agree he has lost the room. Claude waiting in the wings??
  14. sorry re the double picture of Oscar Leroy on my signature. Working to remove it and replace it with goalie Andy Brown in his stock car days
  15. Beast had a very good 3-1 win over the leading Toledo Walleye last night. In fact, Fucale was 7 seconds short getting a shut out. D'Agostini back from his stint with the Marlies. Crisp laying on the body was good and set up the first goal by MacLean. 6 game road trip starts tonight in Toledo. Beast are back on Family day for a 2pm game vs Wheeling. Noted that Toledo assistant coach is pro hockey vet Andy Delmore.
  16. Brampton won a very good three in a row over Elmira Jackals-two at home and one on the road Andrew Dagostini (goalie) just signed a PTO with the Marlies-hopefully just an injury insurance deal and he will be back with the Beast before the weekend Nice to see Pacman Pacan back from his time with Syracuse
  17. made it to Brampton today and the Beast snatched victory from the jaws of defeat despite the best intentions of referee Alex Cote. Henry is back from Rochester. They miss Pacan's scoring prowess but Brandon MacLean (a good Burlington boy) had the hat trick today and Connor Crisp looked good in the 4-3 victory. Sometimes you can see how tired the ECHL players are by the third period with the limit on the number of players teams can dress (most seem to dress three lines and 5 D). I checked to see if they had any Fucale prints or whatever from last week re the Spengler Cup, but they didn't save any. They might reprint them for next year for a bonus for season ticket holders or flex pack holders. Thanks for clarifying the ECHL contracts. ps-former top prospect Brady Vail was playing for Fort Wayne. In a smart move, the Beast are running a hockey camp for kids during March break.> PPS-Fort Wayne no longer have an affiliation with NHL Colorado (the article re their divorce with Colorado cites differences in the philosophy re call ups and how it destabilizes the minor league product. I guess call ups from the Komets would first go to the Cleveland (ex Lake Erie) Monsters
  18. Brampton D man Jordan Henry loaned to the Rochester Americans. I believe he played today in the Amerks 3-2 victory over the Marlies. I mentioned to Brian that it's frustrating to see the team, with a half decent record for the first time in a couple years, seem to be falling down with not signing Pacan and Henry longterm and Fucale's inconsistent goaltending
  19. Brampton Beast star forward David Pacan (21 goals) has been signed to a PTO by the Syracuse Crunch (AHL). Didn't want to see this happen
  20. Mike Vernance has quit the Beast to play in Austria. To retain his rights, it will show on transactions as a team suspension. (BTW-Beast won 3-0 in Glen Falls NY tonight spoiling Adirondack's Teddy Bear Toss event). Zach got the shut out. Brampton has signed forward Connor Leen.
  21. best thing was Bob Cole didn't call the game! Romanuk-was he really missed during his tenure in Europe? Galley-minor league colour guy. Emelin's check would never have drawn a penalty had it been in the first period. It was about perfect and across the hips, not the knees
  22. Brampton Beast have acquired former Hamilton Bulldog Justin Courtnall to complete a trade with the Allen Americans (ECHL champs) made early this year for Chris Auger
  23. Brampton won both games and knocked Elmira out ot the playoffs. D'agostini was solid in goal with a 2-1 win Friday and Brassard got his first pro win in goal with a 5-3 win in Elmira. I did a brief tally courtesy of Hockeydb.com and got 70 different players including 11 goalies this season. Their season end party is at Oscar's Road House in Brampton today. -former Carleton U Capt Joey West got his first pro goal last night.
  24. and Brampton continues the auditions (maybe going for a record for the number of players on the roster this season?) Latest is Niagara University grad, D man Matt Chiarantano from Caledon Ont
