I really don;t like our Dcore right now. And if PK is not part of it then I hate to say it but we are barely above an AHL team. With price in nets I truly think we need to put a solid group of 6-7 guys who excel in their own zone. Not guys like kaberle, Weber and Diaz.

No way of knowing this for sure. I mean if PK was such a sure fire thing then why did he slip to the 2nd round? We are talking about kids so maybe all of them are busts, who knows. As for PK, he's my fav player in the league so don;t want him dealt. Just saying I can think of examples of when it would be wise to part ways.

They all have different elements. Tinordi by all accounts will be a shut down beast with limited production. Beaulieu appears to be a pure offensive force but will struggle in his own end and Ellis is a good all around guy just not to Subban's level. By that same token we do not have a forward like Kane. he's basically Pacioretty but with more of a mean streak and a better forechecker.

CC There was interest in Tendernesse as we apparently offered the same contract he signed for in Ott. There was interest in jagr as well but were not willing to pay that extra year for a player who started strong and they fizzled in the 2nd half and when it comes to Whitney my guess is that they didn't want another 5 foot nothing player. many teams are apparently offering 2-3 years in the $5-6 million range and right now Doan is younger than Whitney and Jagr and provides more than just points. He is a leader. If they can get him in the 2-3 years in the $5 million range then I personally think it is worth doing.

Im hoping Weber is gone. Forget these premonitions of being better on another team. He doesn't have a spot now and we don't need him. Get what you can for him. I'd like to see us make a play for Keaton Ellerby.

Trading Subban for Kane is not a dumb idea at all. Trading them one for one given the current defense is where there is issue. If we had Tinordi, Beaulieu, Ellis in this line-up already with Gorges, Emelin all here then yes it's the type of move we can make but given the fact we have a depleted D-core, it is simply not what we need right now.

A this point if we could shed a little bit of salary and get rid of a Weber for instance then I would seriously consider Kubina. He can be a secondary PP player and be a steady influence for Kaberle. Only if he would sign for relatively cheap that is

We have Weber, Diaz, Nash, Bouillon, S-Denis so we should move Subban? Detroit has Abdelkader, Helm, so they should part with Datsyuk I guess. Subban is our #1 D-man and everyone else you've mentioned are #5-6-7-8 on every team in the NHL. Parting with PK would be a tremendous mistake.

I personally like Diaz but hate the fact that we more or less have 4 players who fit the same mold. If we were able to shed Weber and Kaberle then Diaz would be a mainstay on that blueline. Right now he's what #6-7?

Way I see it is that the entire team will go as far as markov's knee. If healthy Markov is the best PP player in the game. Our PP was horrendous last season so what happens if we bring that back to among the leaders like it has been for 4-5 years. I don't think COle will have the same type of year but Gionta will be there, Plekanec will be better, Bourque will be better, Eller continues to develop, Amrstrong should be better than Darche......not difficult to forecast a better season IMO
