Yep to soft need to be more like CBJ get more fighing majors = cup for sure.
B's,Pens,Rags and Flyers are doing OK.How many more injuries from questionable hits do we need. When you get manhandled by Buffalo,and then an Elias is running guys,there's a problem.And unfortunately we're no closer to the cup the the BJs. This lineup,minus Campoli,Gill and Moen,is what we'll see next year

Finally. now leave him on a line with Eller or Pleks. Don't waste him on the 4th line. Blunden needs to be on the 4th. Darsche-Enquist-Weber is as bad and useless a line as you'll ever see in NHL. 2 AHLers and a Dman. Moen-White Blunden 4th line works good .

Trading Subban is idiotic (unless, like it was mentioned above, you receive Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos or Ovie). People still struggle to see the value in experience. Exhibit A is right in front of you: Alexei Emelin. Guy spent 8 years playing in the KHL. Look at him go! Subban played one season in Hamilton. Give him some time, a leash to learn from his mistakes and some suppport, and he'll reward you in the long run.
Everyone has a price,including Subban.You think he's the 5th best/most important player in the league/Bright future,but talk about overvaluing our players

Darche played a total of 40 seconds all of last season on the PK. Not 40 seconds per game.... 40 seconds total PK time for the season.
Do you even watch this team, or do you just come on the internet and complain about it? Telling us that Darche had great PK #s last season when he basically spent 0 time on our PK last season and you don't even know this? And on top of that, you cant even spell his name?
Meanwhile this season Hal Gill is 2nd in the ENTIRE NHL in PK minutes/game (only Beauchemin ahead of him) and the Habs have the number 1 PK in the league, but he gets no credit because its just the system? It has nothing to do with how good he is as a PKer.

Hammill is awful and he was a top 10 pick.
He is literally garbage.
Why not those other guys is because AE is playing well in hamilton and producing.
Need to reward those who are doing well.

Well about Moen and Gill they are half of the best PK in the league... That means something for sure.
That makes zero sense. It's the whole pk system. Even Darsche and Pyatt last year had great PK #'s and we know how bad they are.

I know I'm dreaming, but it'd be nice if griping around here made some sort of sense. Lafrous drew a bizarre parallel between Kaberle and Souray and implied that somehow Gauthier is to blame for our having the 'wrong' guy. Since Souray was never an option and certainly not an alternative to Kaberle at the time when the Habs were looking for PP help, the entire original comment was inane.
It was to the people that rip Souray and prop up Kaberle.

It's pretty sad when this bunch gets intimidated by the likes of Kaleta,Gaustad and the soft,gutless Buffalo Sabres. At least go down with some pride,or get some players that will.

Stall's last 5 year totals were 76, 70, 75, 82 and 70 points. That is hardly top 5 centre production. You have to go back 6 years to get his only 100 point season. He sounds more like a Gomez ,with good numbers in the teir 2 center category and one outstanding outlier year. I don't want to pay $7M for a 70 point guy (mind you, It would be better then paying for $7M for a 15 point guy), but Stall while Stall also sucks this year and is on pace for around 50 points. I think at best he is a 70-80 point guy and only managed over 80 points and 40 goals twice in his career and has been a on a declining path. Again, no way i move a guy like Subban for him. I'd trade Gorges for him, if the canes were interested (they won't be) and even then, they would probably want our first pick - no way I move that right now if that may be Grigerenko.
I was just giving an example of a big #1 center. It's been 20-25 years since we had a guy with 5 seasons over 70 pts.You sound like it's a common occurence for us. We don't have one player on this team or in the system that's even capable of scoring 70 pts.It's seems forever since Kovy and Pleks did it

We don't know what Philly offered, and how it compared to Eller and Shultz; but I do know that Philly re-signed Leighton and gave him pretty decent money before Halak was traded (1.55 million per year). They also had Boucher still under contract. They also traded for the rights to, and tried to sign Nabokov but refused to meet his asking price, and when he wouldn't sign, they went out and signed Bobrovsky.
Everything they did that summer was focussed on finding a goalie, but doing so on the cheap... they weren't willing to make the major changes that only came this summer when they went after Bryzgalov.
Until this year the Flyers operated with a philosophy of goaltending on the cheap, and I don't believe they were offering as much as St. Louis did.
We also see in the Atlanta deal that Cormier was the prospect on the table and I'm pretty happy today we choose Eller over Cormier.
You HAVE to be related to Gauthier. All you do is defend the guy despite the evidence before your very eyes. And Eller and Schultz for Halak ? A minor league goon and a potential,hopeful 3rd liner. I would have shopped for picks. Eller will just turn out to be another overrated Hab prospect.Look what Wash. got for Varlamov. And Gauthier DID NOT shop Halak to the full extent,just like he didn't with Camm. I never here about other GMs getting complained about for not shopping.

"cheer for another team.". Usually these lame responses say "root for the leafs then". But they are better than us now. I've rooted for the Habs for 40 years,and if they suck i'll say they suck and demand change.And I won't waste my time and money watching them as much as I did.
So now if Emelin leaves town for less than market value, you need to put Gomez on that magical list ASAP.

There are only two types of teams that would be willing to trade a top centre woud be a team like Columbus who has Carter, but they can'[t make a deal for just draft picks - they need a warm body to sell to their fans and they already have the top pick (although a chance to get the two russians may intrigue them).
Even Anaheim, is not going to deal a Ryan or Getzlaf for a just a first round pick. It would be SUbban plus a first round pick.
The other option would be to make a deal with a loaded team like the Flyers who have Briere, Giroux, Schenn, JVR (playing as a winger) and see if you can snag a Schenn or a JVR. However, I don't see them wanting a draft pick at this stage when they can use those guys for the playoff run.
Unless you are dealing with a team like Columbus or trading the first round pick to a good team would be an option only in the off season, so that doesn't help us now anyways.
This year is done. This team sucks. I'd suck it up right now, clean out the Gill, Moen, Campoli, one of Weber/Diaz, Darche (not that anyone wants him) and look to next year by stocking picks and prospects.
I don't think we are that far off. I'm not in favour of trading AK46 - I'd trade Bourque before I trade AK46. I really believe that we would regret that deal for the next 5-7 years.
If we do take advantage of the value some of our excess dman and UFA's will have for teams looking to go deep in the playoffs, we can stock pile our youth the way Boston and Philly did and look pretty good next year if can dump Gomez and keep the following:
Cole - NEW CENTRE - Gionta
AK46 - Eller- Leblanc
DD - Pleks - MaxPac
White - NEW CENTRE - NEW WINGER/Blunden
Markov-Subban
Gorges-Emelin
Two new dman + one of Weber or Diaz
Price
New backup
Starting point to get Stall is Subban - no way i make that deal. I don't see Stall as ever returning to being a top 5 centre. Subban has the potential of being a top 5 dman.
I see Stall being top 5 again if paired with Cole and/or Pacs

Out of season now,NFL and MLB but not an NBA fan. And soccer every 4 years for the WC.It's worse being a Hab fan now than back in the late 90's because of expanded cable and the internet,you get to witness the suckiness up close.And I still blame it 100% on the management,because I don't think we had to tank,but every good move we've made has been negated by a bad one. Imagine this current defense in a 7 game series vs. the B's,Flyers or Pens.

ANyone trading for Gill knows his deficiencies and is picking him up strictly for the playoff drive. Hall Gill's value is only going to increase at the deadline - particularly if some of the other potential DMan like Suter and that guy in Dallas are taken off the market like Gleason was.

We have the best PK so it evens out.B's were in the 20's last year and won it. So have a few others recently.
I wouldn't mind keeping him as long as it was on the 4th line for sure. Not for top 9 at all
