  1. One of the most underrated players in the league. Great term on the deal. We would not be that same team without him.
  2. I feel like the 6.85 is a bit of a discount to stay with a winning team, yet the 8 years is possibly more than he would have gotten on the open market.
  3. a) tires de l'enclave is shots from the slot and passes vers l'enclave is passes towards the slot. As for cadres, according to google translate it means managerial staff.
  4. OK, time for a new one. I know this has been brought up a bit in previous threads but I'm going to throw it into this one as well. -Eric Stall Last year of his contract, no guarantee you can resign him and the Canes are rebuilding, probably not the way he wants to finish out the last productive years of his career. He'll be 31 before November. Also, how do you think the price will change as we get deeper into the season and the rental time becomes shorter. We all remember the last minute deal on Vanek. Since Carolina is building for the future, I'm going to say the deal starts with a 1st rounder which isn't so bad as Montreal's will likely be towards the end of the round, plus a decent prospect but nothing crazy like a MaCarron or Sherbak because this is still a rental after all. Carolina would probably be happy to save some cash as well. Last but not least, Stall has a no move clause so assuming he is interested in Montreal that could help bring the price down as well.
  5. I have never seen hockey fans as fickle as Canucks fans. If the team is winning they will gladly pay though the nose for tickets, but the moment they start loosing you will have trouble filling the seats with half price tickets. Having been to NHL games in Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver, there does seem to be something missing with the atmosphere / design of GM place.
  6. I know Lars is 26 now and he hasn't done it yet but I still think he is going to crack the 40 point plateau.
  7. I'm a little concerned about this signing. I have a feeling it might just lead to a lot of drama and distraction with lots of poor defense and soft play from Semin. Hopefully I'm wrong and a one year deal is the right motivation Semin needs.
  8. Nyquist has reportedly signed a 4 year extension with Detroit worth 19 million total. That seems so cheap for a 25 year old player that scored 27 goals last season. Things look to finally be coming back down to earth.
  9. Its close but I think I would rather have Tarasenko than O'Reily.
  10. I could see the Hawks possibly taking Gilbert as they need D and Oduya may get tired of waiting around for them. Sharp would be a nice add but really don't want to overpay for a player who is almost 34 and just had what by his standards was a weak season. Hopefully we can find a taker for Emelin. Any ideas on who else could be targeted if we can't Sharp? Realistically there aren't a lot of good options out there.
  11. I guess it goes to show how much they wanted him gone. Either way it will be enjoyable to laugh at them for the 1.2 mill they're going to have against the cap for the next 7 years.
  12. Weather or not Montreal is getting him, I can't believe that Sharp has still not moved.
  13. Going to miss prust, I think his presence meant more to this group then we know. We do get cap savings and I think the heavy tole of his style was starting to catch up with Prust, looked to have lost half a step this year. Little risk with Kassian. At worst he replaces Prust and at best could finally break through.
  14. Frolik 5 years 21.5 to CGY AAV is 4.3. Sounds reasonable. could have been nice in MTL
  15. I really like what I saw from him last season,
  16. Kessel has been traded to Pens for Kappanen, Harington, picks moving both ways and leafs retain 15% apparently.
  17. I'd take Eller over Hodgeson in a heart beat.
  18. So for Luch they basically got two 1sts and a prospect? Even with some salary retention that is a damn good deal.
  19. Sharp is good as long as the price is right. The problem is there aren't many options out there so the one that are out there could easily be over paid for.
  20. You have to over pay on web forums or people just say that you re dreaming. But seriously, next years 1 will likely be a late first, tinordi may never amount to any better than a 5-6 and who knows what maccron will turn into, so far I've heard a lot of mixed reviews. Stall is only 30 and if you look at his numbers on a less than great Carolina team it looks like he has some good years left
  21. Sharp had 43 points in 68 game playing with the much more offensively skilled Hawks last season. Who knows if he'll ever hit 50 points again. I'd be surprised if he was still in the NHL in 5 years. As a comparison, Pacioretty had 67 points last season, I don't think Sharp is on his level anymore. I would cost more and he might not be available but if he is, I would gladly pay more for Eric Stall. Maybe Tinnordi, 2016 1st rounder and McCarron?
  22. I didn't necessarily mean savior in that way. I just meant that he might not be the right player for the Habs at this time. Realistically, if he stays healthy for the whole season we're looking at 20-25 goals from him. He could be really good for us but just don't want to get carried away and pay too much considering his best days are behind him. Seems like something the Pens would do.
  23. Im not saying its going to happen, but I wouldn't be totally shocked if another team is trying to unload Sharp's contract at this time next year. Have to manage expectations. Sharp could be a useful addition but I'm not sure he would be a savior at this point in his career.
  24. I dont think we want Bickle. He is their Emelin; a contract they would love to unload. We shoulden't be in such a rush to pay whatever price to get sharp. He is coming off a season in which he scored 16 goals and he turns 34 just after Christmas. Plus Chicago is going to get crunched by the cap, we cant let them off the hook easy. They should be so lucky to get a 2 rounder for him. And for the trade proposals, Chicago is not going to take back significant salary, that is why they are looking to deal Sharp in the first place.
  25. After reading the comments from different sources on the HW write up, this pick has Trevor Timmins gem written all over it.
