  1. Think you know hockey and every single event that took place? Then this is the place to prove it! I'll start with a question and then the person who replies posts his answer and his own question and so on and so forth. So this one is pretty old but how many goals did Jean Beliveau score the night he got his 500th carreer goal?
  2. Screw it man why did they give the calder trophy to a man who had played in the league a year before and not to someone who was drafted 150 th or something overall and in his first year scored 25 goals and was 2nd in his team in points with only 2 behind Ribeiro. And what the hell was that all about? Ron Maclean saying that he could act too but he's still no Mike Ribeiro.
  3. When will the 2004 nhl awards take place and which channel?
  4. Thanks for the great improvements guys! Keep up the good work..
  5. So what Igi didnt produce a goal. At least Iginla played his heart out in the last game. And what about St Louis or Lecavalier then? They didnt have a goal either. The one goal tampa scored was lucky not cuz it wasnt a good shot but that joke of a referee Fraser called 2 penalties to Calgary when it should've been only one. Now about Niemenen, that's totally crap getting suspended. Just because Lecavalier is a good player he gets suspended? I've never heard that before. Lecavlaier didnt even get hurt damit. He just faked it. But because it would've been obvious nothing had happened he didnt play after that but sat on the bench and while he was down the other tbay player was yelling to him to stay down. So if you believe that shit then you must be ....... I dont wanna say anything.
  6. Does this mean he will play for the habs next season? Sorry if its a stupid question but I'm not really good at these things.
  7. What's so great about St Louis? The only thing great about him is his passing skills. The guy cant score great goals unless its on a breakaway. Then Lecavalier who most of his goals came on breakaways he did it against the habs and the flyers. And he sucked on the first round. The only reason they made it to the finals was cuz they faced opponents who made mistakes and they capitalised. Besides Islanders were a poor team and when the habs almost had game 3 won. There's 16 seconds left and they get scored on cuz they let lecavalier alone in front of the net. If they had actually checked the player who had the puck and passed to Lecavalier (i think it was st louis) or if they had just pushed him or even jumped on the puck they wouldn't have scored and then the week goal at overtime wouldnt have come. And then the last game where we played great and then they got that fluky game winnning goal that hit a skate from the back of the net and went in. Dont tell me they won it by talent. Habs deserved both those games and the series would've been tied and then we would've won in 7 games and all this crap about lecavalier and st louis wouldve been over. Just watch how they'll lose in the finals in 6 games. They couldnt even score once in game 3. I thought great players had the ability to create chances. So why didnt lecavalier and st louis do that?
  8. Hey I'm gonna buy a new satellite and I was looking particularly for the nhl network cuz it shows all the old legendary games and stuff , but does anybody know if it stops showing these things when the playoffs are over? Or does it have nothing to do with that? Thanks in advance!
  9. I dont know if you guys have seen these clips but its worth a look. Those are Lafleur's and Mario's spotlights. There are tons of other spotlights also. http://www.legendsofhockey.net/html/spot_o...nonep199701.htm http://www.legendsofhockey.net/html/spot_o...nonep198802.htm **Edit** Oh Yeah and then go to legend's video. 10. Well I like Lemieux's style better cuz he didnt always go behind the net to set up a play like Gretzky did.
  11. Ya but did u know that in 1981 Lafleur had a car accident?? That's when he was dominating the game and unfortunately after the accident he could'nt play at his level anymore. Hey I admit Gordie wass the most determined and competitive right wing ever but Lafleur was the most talented right wing ever. [Edited on 2004/5/8 by Guy_Guy_Guy]
  12. Nothing against you but dont you think that the canada player purpously tripped him? Althought I was happy that we won.
  13. Ya he is. I give credit to Howe for playing that many games but he has only had 3 100+ point seasons but only 100, 102 and 103 points. Lafleur has had six 100+ seasons in which he had 120 to 135 points.Lafleur has won 5 stanley cups and 3 consecutive league scoring titles and many other awards, and has had 6 consecutive 50+ goal seasons and the first one in only 70 games. Gordie Howe hasnt even scored 50 goals ever.
  14. Hey I came up with this idea. Vote for who you think was the best player at each position and explain why. First I would like to mention 5 players at each category that are most deserving. Best centres: Wayne Gretzky Mario Lemieux Jean Beliveau Phil Esposito Marcel Dionne My vote goes to Mario Lemieux. Many people call him sellfish but in all honesty which natural goal scorer wouldnt be sellfish? Gretzky certainly was a little bit as well. In the late 80-s anytime he was on the ice you would see something that really was unbelievable whether it'd be a great deke, a great goal, a great pass. This guy was always considered above gretzky but if it wasnt for Cancer and for other injuries then Mario would've beaten Gretzky's goal scoring record for sure. Best Right Wings: Mike Bossy Guy Lafleur Maurice Richard Gordie Howe Henri Richard Vote goes to: Guy Lafleur Simply the greatest player to rush down the wing from one side of the rink to the other performing incredible dekes and with a unimaginable speed. He had 5 straight 50 plus goals season, 6 straight 100 plus point seasons, was the most dominant player from 1974 to 1979 and he won 4 consecutive stanley cups in that span. I wish he just hadnt retired at 84 cuz he could still play and Glen Sather was looking to acquire him and if he played with Gretzky and Messier then that would've been the best line ever. And to quote Dick Irvin "Everytime he touched the puck the crowd roared as if he had scored even before the puck went in". Guy Guy Guy!! Best Left Wing: Bobby Hull Steve Shutt Luc Robitaille Dave Andrewchuck My vote: Bobby Hull One of the most creative players of his time, he had that goal scoring ability like no other. He had a hard and I mean real hard slap shot of 120 mph that helped him score goal after goal. He was IMO at least the greatest shooter ever from the blue line and second comes Guy. Best Defenseman: Paul Coffee Ray Bourque Larry Robinson Bobby Orr Guy Lapointe Vote goes to: Bobby Orr Probably the best defenseman who had great defensive and offensive abilities. His cup winning goal in 1970 is historic and he had so many memorable goals in the 70-s. Best Goalie: Ken Dryden Jacques Plante Patrick Roy Dominik Hasek Tony Esposito Vote goes to: Patrick Roy This one was the hardest to choose. He has the most playoff wins ever and has won 4 stanley cups and in the first one he was a rookie in 86 and was unbelievable and to see him win one last cup in 2001 was a really great moment. What are your votes?
