  1. I especially enjoy how he obliterates each of the targets.
  2. lol, gotta think that if Sergei actually kept quiet and paid his dues he'd be called up right now. I really hope White gets some action, he's one of my favourite prospects.
  3. I really wanted Kopitar that year, he's the big centre the team was, and still is missing. However, I still have faith in Price and I believe the Habs are sitting pretty with two great, young goaltenders. Time will tell, maybe next decade as someone mentioned, lol.
  4. No points can be awarded to a participant if the point made is not on topic with the thread's theme (i.e. Chipchura). Chips had a solid game last night - he just needs adequate wingers and the opportunity to play a few games consecutively to get in a groove. Latendresse and D'Agostini are upgrades on Laraque, for sure. Our third line (Metro & Moen) was invisible last night, and our "4th" benefited, getting significant icetime late in the game.
  5. What's this about Dragon Age? Sounds like my kind of game!
  6. LOL I've never heard of any rookie or sophomore signing a 5-year $1M/yr deal. That's ludicrous, no player or agent would accept that - well, maybe Gregory Stewart... but then, what GM would want to give Stewart that kind of contract? It doesn't work that way. You can only give a long-term contract to a guy who has been around long enough to prove his talent/upside. I think the Bruins were too early in awarding Lucic for example, but at least there's a good chance it will work out for both sides. Anyway, I agree we need to start signing the younger guys longer term, but the only way you get them to sign long term 4+ years, is to offer over $2M a year, maybe more. I can't see Gainey giving that to D'Ags just yet. I can't see Pacioretty accepting that low a number either, since he'd need an Andrei Kostitsyn type deal to sign long-term. ($3M+). I'd rather award a guy who deserves it at the end of his short contract, than hand out a bunch of long contracts to guys who will never deserve the excess cash they get in a deal just so that we can ensure we keep their rights a little longer. It's not worth the risk. Anyway, maybe I went off on a tangent here with my idea(s), lol, so apologies for that.
  7. LOL I caught that too and broke out laughing... what an idiot fan, lol.
  8. He missed training camp, so, he should be getting into form now.
  9. We didn't sign Gomer, we traded for him (unless you're calling Gionta Gomer? lol) Trading for Gomez was the reason we were able to bring in Gionta & Cammalleri. What would we have had to offer Gaborik as playmates without the trade for Gomer? Not much. But don't worry, Gabby's probably going to get injured soon enough... maybe he'll accidently collide with Higgins during a shift change or something. Then everyone will be talking about how the Rangers made a mistake getting an injury prone player I like Gaborik though, so I hope he keeps going and finally pulls in a full season... but... without hurting the Habs.

  11. That means calling up another D-man then.
  12. I think he needs a full season before kicking him out. However, Metropolit has been great for us and I would take him out of the lineup in favor of Glen. Trying Chips on the wing on that line is definitely worth a shot.
  13. &&& Bergy gets the call-up today: http://www.habsinsideout.com/main/22693
  14. shhh, you'll give that jackp guy ideas.
  15. Now I wonder, would you guys have written in had I not suggested it?
  16. Todd's still one of my favourite writers, but, someone has got to e-mail him and let him know that Price can't be sent to the minors without needing to clear waivers... unless he thinks no one will pick him up.
  17. Begin wanted to play, and he wasn't getting the ice time with the team we had last year, so I forget if he demanded a trade or if Gainey told him if he wants ice time, he'll be traded. We actually did Begin a favour in sending him to Dallas because it gave him an opportunity to finish the season suited up playing for an NHL team to showcase his ability so he could actually earn a new contract for the coming season(s). It worked out because Boston gobbled him up, but I'm sure they remember his play over the last few years we played against them as well. Either way, Gainey moving Begin was in Begin's best interest. He didn't have a spot with us anymore as we decided to go with younger guys, and eventually brought in Metropolit who is proving his keep and is a bit of a better skater. Begin was my favourite player though, so seeing him go sucked... especially no that he's on the Bruins.
