  1. I don't really have any Habs memorabilia. The only thing I have is an autographed Jean Beliveau picture my dad got for me once when he did a signing a Toys R Us. I was at a friend's house when the signing occured, I was surprised it wasn't even advertised.
  2. If you ask me Scott Niedermayer is doing everything to get the hell out of New Jersey. Looks like his plan is kicking him straight in the balls when Lamoriello says he'll pay anything to keep him.
  3. you have to put %5burl=http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect.cfm?sectionID=habsNewsDetails.cfm&newsItemID=3897%5dhttp://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect...newsItemID=3897" target="_blank"> tags between any links from the habs site to work http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect...newsItemID=3897
  4. By the way Bob Gainey sounded on television when asked about Kovalev, it was obvious they aren't on the same page on financial terms. I like when he said Montreal was a town that alot of players are interested to play in. That was great to hear.
  5. According to this article Ryder rejected the Habs qualifying offer http://www2.canoe.com/sports/nouvelles/arc...810-163430.html So that sucks. Ryder rejected a qualifying offer. Not surprised though. He's a great player with a great future. Not surprised he wants more than 670 000$ (his qualifying offer). [Edited on 2004/8/11 by Tony]
  6. I hope he plays in Hamilton. Last thing the team needs is for Andrei to play in the NHL level when is he isn't mature enough or ready. You don't encounter talent like him everyday. edit: typo [Edited on 2004/8/10 by Tony]
  7. I hope Gainey gives Ryder a multi-year deal. Ryder has been showing impressive numbers wherever he plays. He's a great young addition to the team who hopefully will remain in Montreal throghout the rest of his career.
  8. Injury curse seems to be gone... but you never know when it might appear. As far as Kostitsyn goes, he will be at the rookie camp in Pierrefond that's from September 7-14. I want to go on weekends, any clue how to get there? (Details with bus and train if possible, I hope to see some HabsWorld staff there too ;D )
  9. Ryder is probably on vacation right now and hockey is the last thing on his mind. Either way he got his qualifying offer, he didn't refused it, or accept it since it would be in the news. And I doubt he'll slip away, like I posted before, he's a restricted free agent. The Habs can match any offer from any team to keep him here. Now that I think about it, why wouldn't he want to play in Montreal?
  10. Mikael Tellqvist get ready to play in the big leagues next season. God, the season hasn't even started, and probably long gone from starting by the way CBA talks are going right now and Belfour is ALREADY complaining about his back. Man will he be screwed when someone body checks him. Only 2 more years to go on his deal. I'm sure Trevor Kidd wished he didn't play like crap last season. What did they say on RDS? "Trevor Kidd n'est meme pas capable d'arreter un balon de plage" (Trevor Kidd can't even stop a beach ball). On the bright side, I do like Tellqvist. Good luck to him and I hope he can hold the team and the crazy Toronto fans on his shoulder throughout the time Belfour is out. Hopefully he won't crack and he sure as hell needs that luck.
  11. I agree with Ribeiro, but I see it this way, on the last few games of the season the team switched him on so many lines I think he got fet up and just started to work again. He also appeared embarassed on televised interviews. Don't forget, the media pressure will crack him like a nut if Alex thinks he can make a sweet pay in lazy mode. Also, I think Bob Gainey knows the risks of signing Kovalev. He isn't dumb enough the pull a Chris Pronger in this case. I still believe the only thing keeping Kovalev from signing with Montreal right now is his pride of wanting more money than last season. Kovalev should swallow his pride and realize that type of money will come back to him only if he can perform 110% on any given night.

    Dumont

Briere filed for arbitration and JLGP signed with a team during the season if I remember right.
  13. Don't forget, he's a restricted free agent. They can ###### the Leafs offer by signing him under the offer the Leafs gave him.

    NHL 2004

In NHL 2004, I still couldn't believe EA did like half the cyber faces for the players and barely did some ingame pictures. Thank god there's people out there with the time and dedication and don't mind working on what EA forgot to do. (Note, in case you didn't know, EA NHL 2005 is being made in Montreal, EA as a studio somewhere near downtown. So if that game sucks rating wise and still half ass complete, you know where to throw you molotov cocktails).
  16. Just an interesting tidbit, the Habs say Kovalev is still on the team roster in this article. http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect...newsItemID=3893
  17. I doubt the Habs will sign Perreault. Unless Kovalev or any other UFA doesn't sign with the team. Then and only then, I could imagine the team signing Yanic to play on the first line like he did during the season where he had a good run.
  18. Heh, they don't change the posters often. I remember one time I went to the Bell Centre and they still had a poster of Chad Kilger even though the Leafs picked him up.
  19. Well, let's see who might be the western conference team interested in Kovalev. (Teams are placed in order of Western Conference standings of last season) Detroit - They knew Brett was leaving, maybe Alexei is the back up plan all along. St-Jose - I doubt it, but you never know. Vancouver - 2 words, Dan Cloutier Colorado - You never know. Lacroix is sneaky. But if he signs Kovalev it sure as hell sounds like Kariya and Selanne, part deuce, except with Kovalev. Dallas - Maybe Brett Hull's replacement if their plan failed, which obviously did. Calgary - I doubt this is Suttler's type of player, either way they have a hard time signing their own players (Iggy and Kipper) and they should be more of a priority than Kovalev. St-Louis - Maybe, this team is known to throw money out the window (Weight Tkachuk Pronger...). Nashville - Errr, I thought Kovalev wanted to sign in a hockey lovin' town. Either way, could be interesting if he does. Kovalev and Sullivan, deadly sniping wingers. Edmonton - Edmonton is looking for a center, not a winger. Unless if Kovalev is involved in a trade but that would be pointless. Minnesota - Would be interesting if he signs. They are a hockey loving town with a good coach and good youngsters. Los Angeles - LA? I don't know but I doubt it. You never know. My guess is LA if Kovalev wants to be a hockey player/actor/dad. Anaheim - Anyone remember Sergei Fedorov? If he wants to get the hell out of Anaheim I don't see why Kovalev would go there. Phoenix - After signing Brett, I think the Coyotes are out of the question. Colombus - Bleh, can't say much about this team. I doubt their on the hunt for Alex. Isn't Kovalev looking for a playoff contender anyway? Chicago - See Colombus.
  20. Brett might be on the slippy slope as you say but he can still pull off those goals and assists that can help out a team big time.
  21. Don't worry, Kovalev will crack like a nut soon, if the habs sign him it will be in the range of 4.5 mill. (maybe less too) which is a steal if he performs like in the playoffs.
  22. HOLY SMOKES BATMAN! I wonder who's the western conference team. My guess would be Detroit, they did lose the golden Brett.
  23. Nice to see Andreas is usefull to other teams...
  24. Just wondering, am I the only one who liked Dowd's hair in the finals? His small afro-ish type hair. That was some damn fine looking set of hair.
