  1. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE DID and that'S exactly why he was happy to be traded. my presumption is that after his 2-3 20+ goals season, higgins thinks he's a superstar and that it's everybody's fault. he could turn around, but he has to get a gripe of his whole life first. that's not easy to do.
  2. lol noah, where you from? that was just a light line on the guy two pages ago. then fanpuck misread me, as usual, thinking that I was saying that all single guys are gay... then you talk about his ability to do the job?? wow. you guys are soooo funny. you guys really have a thing for creating drama out of the blue. good and bad facts & rumours on Rejean Tremblay founded and unfounded Rejean Tremblay is a real nice guy He writes french tv soap operas like no others, most of them big ass successes (Lance et Compte, Scoop) He is rumoured as being gay (pretty well documented, but who cares), but as noah said, being gay doesn't affect his ability to do his job (had to say it, so that noah doesn't ask the question again) Most message board posters think he's a lousy journalist who lives in the past (e.g. he's always saying things like let's make the Habs lineup 100% "pure laine" french speaking québécois and is often quoted saying things that are inaccurate, precisely statswise.) He rides a big motorcycle, not sure it's a harley He goes to vacation in Kay West He is a good "bike friend" with Pat Burns. Everytime he goes to Florida, he has a bike ride with Pat. He talks about it from time to time on the Radio. He has a passion for hockey He is a die hard 70's habs fan and always will be. (which links back to the lousy comment, imo, it impairs his ability to be a good 21st century columnist, he keeps on refering to when he was on the "beat" talking to Yvon Cournoyer or to Jean Beliveau and then crap on the Habs cause he can't do that anymore and even if he could, he wouldn't want to do it with those guys... being able to sit wit the great in the 70 is awesome, but that's 40 years ago) He is well respected for what he's done, but although it may sound repetitive, he doesn't really have credibility anymore in the press. Mathias Brunet will rip him once in a while, and rightfully so (e.g. at the beginning of the season, when Tremblay said that we should bring back dark french speaking guys who were playing in Russia -- was Dagenais one of them?-- instead of our english/foreign sounding names here).
  3. lol, as bar said, it's the rumours thread... (good one bar!) this is public knowledge that is he is the closet. I have no evidence cause I've never seen him do it, nor have any intention to be a part of it. I am single and have been for a while, I don't feel gay and people would be hard pressed to prove me gay. however, your interpretation of what I said is some beautiful piece of socratic/aristote way of thinking : all gay men do not go out with women tremblay is not going out with a woman therefore tremblay is gay LMAO what I meant is that he's gay. many knows it. he's not really hiding it. however the only evidences are that he's not with a woman and rides to the kays with ambiguous people. I didn't say that he was gay because of that.
  4. Phaneuf hits more than Gomez, otherwise, they are both overpaid for what they bring, with Gomez being the most valuable defensively (LOL) I'd rather pay Gomez 7M+ than Phaneuf 6M+ Phaneuf can be replaced by a canon (MA Berge) and a hitter (we have none... maybe O to the B) Gomez cannot be replaced easily, other by another same caliber center, and there are less than 30. (unless you do like we did in 01' get yannick perrault for the 50-60 pts, and joe juneau for the pk) even with hindsight, I prefer McDo (?) + Higgs (drunk sob) to Hagman (), Stajan (higgins), White (gorges) for Phaneuf.
  5. Rides a Harley down to the Kays, with some ambiguous friends, and none of them is a hells angels. With all the fame, he's never had a wife, nor been seen in public with a female lover. He is deeeeeeep in the closet.
  6. we don't know what there is in his life, cause the coaches seem to be accepting that. so there must be something... I hope/guess. Otherwise, yes, you're right the backup should always be doing some overtime. yeah, Rejean Tremblay says that "gorge profonde" (which means deep throat... and knowing that he's gay, I can't imagine what his source and him do together) told him that.
  7. time will arrange things. Markov doesn't need a Markov as a partner, just someone who skates, is a bit physical and is defense-conscious Gorges is 2/3 of that in that he is ok in all of those 3 areas.
  8. we definitely need to do a Rivet-kinda-trade with Hamr nonsense to keep him with our actual $ situation. + Spacer would finally play on the LW side
  11. I want to renew my contract with videotron. it's up in october. I haven't contacted them.
  12. I think they will just do it for next season.
  13. 29 to go! you can do it! ask Captain_stealth for help on the post padding topic.
  14. Plek has the Markov attitude. I'm really not worried. He is gonna sign in Montreal for under 6M (shit that's steep!! I still don't know if he's for real! can he be that good over some years??) for 4-5 years.
  15. very high picks are mostly sure shots (with the rare pouliot exceptions). Even Zherdev is not such a bust (although he's now in KHL) low picks are crap shots. Ryder, Streit, Markov, Halak, Plekanec, Zetterberg, Dastyuk, Lidstrom. However, Timmins' track record for high talent is better with low picks than high picks... so maybe we should trade our first rounders for a couple of 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks? lol
  16. This is funny. there is no debate there. you don't keep a Backup over a starter... Price - Starter Halak - Backup
  17. Columbus 117 GA and 99 GF - Mason > Halak. Garon = Halak Florida 112 GA and 95GF - Vokoun > Halak. Clemmensen = Halak NYI 104 GA and 84 GF - Biron = Halak LA Kings 104GA and 107GF - Quick = goalie of the week Anaheim 103GA and 91 GF = They have too many good starters already Edmonton 100GA and 98 GF - Deslauriers = Halak Listen, In Montreal, Halak might be considered highly... but fact is, you ask any other team, and they will not regard him as highly. He is NOT an established starter in NHL and as such is only regarded as good a good backup.
  18. I am SURE that I DON'T want to trade Hamr. he has been a rock (except last year, to his excuse, everyone was to puke on) a real hard rock, an explosive volcano rock, solid as granit rock, a diamond in the rough rock, a rocking rock. the guy is the man. He is clearly our #1 in Markov absence and has been a very good #2 for the last 3 years. More verstatile than guys like Komi (4.5, unidimensional) and Souray (5.5, more offensive, way way way way less reliable defensively, with lots of brain cramps). lol no! he is not even despare at all. my bold guess is that AT BEST, it'd be a 1st and Leighton for Halak and a 4th. I however wish / dream about that we could do something like d'Ago + Halak + whatever for a guy like Giroux. or Pleks + Halak for Carter or Richards.
  19. I miss Gio. Gomez looks like a pee wee without good wingers. (i.e. I could blame him for not making Sergei better, as well as I could blame Sergei for not being able to adjust to Scott)
  20. no way. even right now he's not worth that. Kane 6.3M Carter 5M Pleks ? -> 4-4.5M I know he's ufa and all.. but he'll be competing vs Marleau, Jokinen, Hejduk, Frolov for top money. and seeing top contract went at 7.5M, seing that Marleau is not a game breaker or a superstar, but he's still really good, I'd say it'd go something like that 6.5M Marleau 5.5M Jokinen 4.5M Plekanec 4M Hejduk 4M Frolov
  21. no. wrong. kane and toews are not frontloaded as per nhlnumbers.com as for malone, yes it is front loaded, but beyond his value... everyone was shocked that a checker on a career year would get that much. It is now turning really good since he found some chemistry with Stamkos.
