  1. Oh right, Potluckistan is tomorrow

Slovakia is probably the only team I don't think has a shot at winning.

What are the chances someone signs Halak after this?

lol, I've wanted to sign Boods for a couple seasons now but I just can't justify to pay him what he wants.

  2. TEAM SLOVAKIA

    Even their fans are lame

  3. I'm with Fanpuck. We reboot and I'm out of here. No thinking about it or anything, I'd just be up and gone. I've been with this file for 7 years, I'm not learning a new one.

I also disagree with a few things. Early retirement is not a problem anymore. Recruiting, for the first time in ages, is not a problem anymore. And the gap between the good and bad is not as big as Seb makes it out. It only took me two seasons to turn Colorado from cluster###### into Stanley Cup finalist.

  4. definently interested in future tournaments, Slovakia shall be World Champs

Be warned then, their talent pool is thin. And I mean thin.

There will be laughs to be had when I post this roster tomorrow. I feel bad they have to play Canada and Russia twice each.

  5. No no, no one else has to do anything for this one. I only brought up GM involvement if you guys were interested in future tournaments.

I've already got all 8 rosters done and sitting on my laptop, haha.

  6. He did a 4 issue mini.

This OMAC was weird. This guy gets infected somehow and can turn into this giant blue monster with a mohawk who can barely talk by saying "Omactivate". He has a guide named Brother Eye who is basically just a satellite and can hack into any electronic on Earth. They're constantly on the run from Checkmate. Checkmate just brought in S.H.A.D.E who sent Frankenstein after him and they had a big throw down.

It was basically the Incredible Hulk with computers. Kinda interesting but I won't miss it.

  7. DCnU sees it's first cuts. OMAC, Blackhawks, Men of War, Hawk & Dove and Mister Terrific have all been cancelled to be replaced by Earth 2 (the Justice Society returns), World's Finest (a series starring Huntress and Power Girl) and some other crap I won't read.

I didn't mind Hawk & Dove but I'm not particularly sad any of these are going, especially since PG is getting another ongoing.

And in movie news, Gina Carano would be open to playing Wonder Woman

Get it done, WB. Her or Hendricks.

Yes, I know those are technically soccer fans. But I googled Swedish hockey fans and all I got was some lousy pictures and an article about Swedish fans throwing a bunch of dildos on the ice during a game in 2008.

    Tomorrow: Slovakia

  9. I have a question, will the stats from these games be in HWL?

Like in the regular season sims? No, I have to do them in a separate file because of all the editing. I've basically replaced teams like Boston and Columbus with countries.

I am going to write up game recaps and do a leaderboard for goals, assists and points though. And then something for the goalies. I'll take requests too if you don't see someone on the leaderboard. As in "Hey, how many hits does Pitkanen have?". I'll just do the math in my game and let you know.

To view this yourself, you need a new config file and new picture packs. I can make them available if you guys want but it's probably too much of a hassle to go back and forth between two different config files.

  10. Nice, I got the schedule done tonight. I thought that would be harder to do.

To make the rosters, I was going to edit the rights of everyone in the players file. That sounds annoying though so I think I'll just do it all by trading. I'm hoping to be ready to go before I'm done announcing all of the rosters.

One thing I thought of while doing the schedule, stat tracking is going to be tough. I'm starting right from where the last sim ended so everyones points from the tourney will be mixed in with whatever they had at that point. Not impossible to check how they're doing but tough. Same with standings but that will be easy to keep track of by myself in this topic.

    Things looking good so far!

Edit: As I figured, trading for the players was much quicker than editing the rights. Only problem is running into NTCs but even those are easier to delete than changing teams and rights. So Team Finland is complete. Pretty stoked about this so far.

  11. I had 9 members of team Finland at one point or another in their career.

I was wondering how many of those guys faerie had collected as I was making the roster, haha

As for teams, I do seem to recall a lot of Penguins Noah. Islanders seemed to pop up a lot too.

  12. Oh, right, thanks.

I'm the one who acquired him at the deadline last year for the Sens so his name still clicks with Ottawa in my head, haha.

Also I'll just be blunt and say I'm saving Canada for last.

  13. Also I just had another idea with goalies. Since each team will have 3, I'll designate one country for each goalie to play both games against. The best rating of those 3 will be that teams starter for the playoffs. That way even if your team's goalie is the 3rd one, he'll still get to play.

Thanks for the positive response guys. If this just dies out withouy anyone commenting, I'll probably just go back to doing it for myself, lol

  14. And now I present to you....
