Jokinen In Montreal?
Athlétique.Canadien replied to Komisarek the Cruncher's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
When did Teemu say he'd like to come to MTL? I'm not challenging you but rather would like to have it confirmed so I can start to get pumped. Do you have a link? Or is this from another year? -
I'm still wondering about Theodore. 1) With Koivu getting signed for what he did. 2) Huet saying he wants to be the starter and Gainey being the one to leak it. 3) Theodore in general. These elements combined make me wonder. Yes, Bob said Theo is supported and no trade will occur. Still, I wonder. We'll see.

Jokinen In Montreal?
Athlétique.Canadien replied to Komisarek the Cruncher's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
The funny thing about the Bulis talk is Pleks. How could a fan not like this guy? Defensively, he shadows the attacker perfectly. He blocks shooting lanes. Offensively he has the hands and excellent speed. :king: The Bulis Pleks chemistry has the short term potential to be deadly. :king: Apart from experience, Plekanec would be in Turin right now. He'll go in 2010 guaranteed. You heard it here first. (not much of a bold prediction ) Havlat is a bum. He's skilled to the teeth. But, he's a cancer to the team with bad penalties, suspensions. He hotdogs the refs and tries to fool them. It's obvious even to the viewer. He dives. Attempts to injure and does, often. At the end of the day he's a bum. Maybe he'll read this and figure out what Tucker has seemed to finally figure out. That is, when you're a bum to the refs - YOU'RE A BUM! Havlat should just play hockey and get away from all that garbage. As far as trades go. Jokinen would fit perfectly. He's a big center. His addition would be awesome. One name that hasn't been mentioned is Jeff Friesen. Problem is his 2,280,000.00 tag. He's very underrated. I don't think he's done. He's just not working out in Washington. But if he could find a change of scenery, that'd be interesting. He was huge for the Devils in winning their 2003 cup. In my opinion, The Kostitsyn's are untouchable. Sergei Kostitsyn has Daniel Ryder (CGY) type numbers - 49GP 24G 42A 66PTS. He's on course for rookie of the year in the OHL and it's possible he finishes 2nd to Angelo Esposito for CHL rookie of the year. Not bad for the 18 year old Kostitsyn who had the most to do with getting Belarus back to the WJC in 2007. He only managed to tie Malkin in points in this years WJC's. 200th overall, 2005 Entry Draft. Nice pick. Habs. As for Andrei Kostitsyn, it's too soon to let him go and risk upsetting Sergei. Also, Andrei's skill has not been tapped yet. It will. Normally, a team might trade an Andrei type player for help now. But when you couple Andrei's skill with the fact that Team Belarus will have the 2 on their regular top line internationally? It's too soon to write that off. Perezhogin is also untradable IMO. The thing I like about him that is often missed is he can hit and he's hard to knock of the puck. It'll be interesting to see what Gainey does. -

Bulis the Habbie, I really hope you keep your nick because Montreal has got to sign Bulis. Until they do, he looks like a candidate to follow Ribeiro to Florida or where ever. I didn't know he was a UFA. Yikes. I would like to keep Bulis but if it isn't him who goes, who will it be? Don't get me wrong. I guess when it comes down to it we all know that Jokinen is going to cost more than has been suggested in this forum, salary cap or not. Cheers to Bulis. :hlogo: -
The :hlogo: Captain showed us why he is a true :hlogo: Captain. When the media made rounds on Team Canada yesterday regarding the betting incident, Koivu was clear minded and impressed me more than any other player. Nuff said. All Hail #11 P.S. Thanks Serge.

Is Huet A Legitimate #1? I don't think so. Cheers to hoping I'm wrong

These slow starts? Where are the goals? It's our lot in life to suffer like this, to have a slow start. The good news is the Habs get better in the 3rd! :hlogo: -

Are You Going To Make The Trade?
Athlétique.Canadien replied to blaze53's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
We'll find out in 23 hours whether or not we'll have to wait until after February 26th for the trade. I predict no trade in the next day so we'll probably have to sit on it. I like the Fedorov idea, but it is very risky. Go Habs - destroy Tatonka -
Bell Centre Boo-birds: Go Home!
Athlétique.Canadien replied to Athlétique.Canadien's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I'm referring to the actual boo birds. Not Bell Centre attendees. Booing him while playing is one thing but on the bench while Huet is playing, that's another. It has nothing to do with deserving or not deserving the booing or whether or not a player does. I'm upset at what the consequences are...mainly how players say no to the Habs. Sorry about "Bell Centre faithful must have the collective IQ of a ham sandwich" I should have said boo birds. -
Yeah, they're not helping. I am getting fed up with the Bell Centre boo birds for Theodore. I mean, yes the faithful are upset but we want Jose to get back his confidence, not kill it! By continuing to boo Jose, they are probably making him think, "why should I say here?" We all know his value is low right now, so encouraging him to run to the door will only make the return on a trade that much crappier. Please stop booing him for the sake of it. If you don't like the guy, fine. But stop booing. Don't do it for Theodore - DO IT FOR THE CANADIENS! A famous man once said, "We don't need those people, we don't want those people, they're jealous people, yellow people. I think they're a bunch of gutless bastards, to be honest." The Bell Centre faithful must have the collective IQ of a ham sandwich. Night after night I'm sure there are NHL stars who tune into RDS or whatever and hear the boo birds and think, "I'll never play there, not on your life". Good job by the jerks who help in NHL stars having this opinion. Keep it up and we might win in 2000 years!

Saturday, Last Home Game For Whom?
Athlétique.Canadien replied to GoHabs2002's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I guess we'll see soon enough. Don't be at all surprised if the deal(s) BOb makes are surprising. It's highly likely we will all be pleased. Gainey is not the type to lose on a trade to salvage a season. It would have to be a sober and logical move. To BOb  -

1) What a ripoff - The Ryder goal was a goal. I checked the rulebook. 2) The calls were garbage I agree. Have faith all, the Hockey Gods will shine on us to compensate. Maybe we'll end up ripping off Toronto. If they keep playing like this as a team with energy, Habs should be alright. -
