  1. A new garbage rumour out of Vancouver that Sundin will sign in 10 days max with them. Vancouver rumours? I AM NO LONGER BUYING GARBAGE! Their fans are getting on nerves. Vancouver has the 2nd or 3rd best goalie in the league. Possibly even the best in the league. Their D isn't superstar. It's over rated but they're a very stable unit. Then, you have the popgun offence, turnstyle (bring in Bulis or bring in Wellwood) mentality. I call this type of thinking; "wasting Luongo". Their fans seem to be so desperate to sign him that they are getting hostile. Hence, why I am presently crapping on them

Canuck fans are taking stupid pills. They think with Sundin they are contenders? OK!! They really think Vancouver is a better situation for Sundin and totally disregarding Montreal like were a second rate city. You should hear these guys!! WE (HABS) ARE THE YANKEES OF HOCKEY....YOU (KNUCKLEHEADS) ARE THE KC ROYALS OF HOCKEY...GOT IT!! Enjoy the rain. AGAIN

  2. Notice that this moves comes a few days after Minnesota lost C Pavol Demitra to free agency. Minny is thin at C, they didnt get Locke to star in the AHL.

Anyway. Now Habs have Laraque, Subban and Belle, Jackie Robinson would be proud.

Good point!!! I like all these moves, drafting Subban, signing Laraque and trading for Belle. In Bob we trust.

  3. I tell you, Carcillo from Phoenix, he isn't just a goon, he has 4g 4a better than most of our guys that can't fight. He could play regular on the 3rd line for us. Not a waste of space.

I agree. Carcillo has some baggage but is well worth the minimal risk. Third line winger that can sometimes fill in on second line. Just not sure if the Habs can get him out of Phoenix.

  4. The Sharks will need to do something, they will have to match Anahiem and Nashville if they want to move on. They have alot of young prospects that could come back. I would take a deal like that. I would try and get EL Diablo "Parker" as well. The Habs need a real heavy weight, i'm tired of watching them getting pushed around every game.

Chris...your after my own heart. Scott Parker is an animal that would do the Habs good. Fighting is creeping back in and getting the former first round pick would be great. Let's face it, Aaron Downey is a good team guy but he's no heavyweight. If (when) Souray leaves we'll have Komisarek left who can throw em. Like it or not fighting is part of hockey and is making a comeback. Doug Wilson loves Parker and don't think he'll throw him in. But ya never know!!

  5. guys, get real. Minny is ALL but a seller.

Look at their prospects or up and coming youngsters instead. They wont ship Rolston.

Could be the Habs are looking at Matt Foy in Houston (Minny's farm team). Leading his team in points and a tough SOB to boot. Not as talented as Steve Bernier but a little meaner. I don't think SJ Sharks will give up Bernier for Souray unless the Habs add something else...something good.

  6. So I go to Archambault today, looking to buy The Hockey News Fantasy Guide. Not there. So I finally buy The Score 2006-2007 preview, thinking that it's better than nothing... False! So I get home, open it at the Habs page, only to see at the top: Predicted Northeast Division finish: 5th. without even reading what was written about my favorite team, I flip the pages back to fing the predicted order of finishing. Then, I started laughing.

    Eastern Conference

    1-Buffalo

    2-Tampa Bay :o

    3-New Jersey

    4-Carolina

    5-Ottawa

    6-Rangers

    7-Boston

    8-Flyers

    9-Atlanta

    10-Washington

    11-Florida

    12-Toronto

    13-Islanders

    14-Montréal

    15-Pittsburgh

Is that a joke or what? Then I read the Habs' analysis, only to find the usual ''lack of size, need a no.1 Dman...'' crap. Not only this, but putting Buffalo no.1? They have the same kind of team as our, with offensive depth, speedy forwards, 6 reliable defensemen, 2 good goalies...

Just to give you an example, here's the ''Bottom Line'', according to The Score:

This version of the Habs is too similar to the 05-06 model-aside from the arrival of Samsonov- to suggest any significant improvements. While there's plenty of talent down the pipeline, the club needs to revamp its veteran core in order to surpass the likes of Ottawa and Buffalo. Unfortunately, both the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs improved themselves in the off-season, and have inched closer to Montreal. Making the playoffs this time around will be a struggle for the Habs, while even avoiding the division cellar won't be easy. Look for a battle between the Habs and Toronto for the 4th place in the northeast.

So, the real bottom line is: DON'T BUY THE SCORE 2006-2007 PREVIEW, unless you really, but really have $10 to throw away.

The only thing The Score is good for is player scouting. Picking TB, NJ, NYR, BOS and Philly to make the playoffs is a stretch in itself. Gainey, Carbo, Jarvis and Muller could lead the Hamilton Bulldogs to the NHL palyoffs! The best was picking ATL, WAS and the Maple Laffs ahead of the Habs...I needed a laugh..THX. These yearly mags should be used as a reference more then anything else.

  7. what is equally interesting is that Detroit felt a need to make offers to Lindros and Allison....please tell me this is because Shanny won't re-sign. :king:

found that strange also...at this point who knows...there are so many rumors. This Shanahan thing reminds me of the whole Brett Hull signing with the Habs when Andre Savard was our GM. Don't get me wrong I would love Shanny to be a habs but I get the same feeling I got with Brett Hull. It just carries on like a bad smell. I HOPE I'm wrong. GO HABS!!!

ps- it could also mean Detroit is signing Shanahan and dumping Robert Lang to free up cap space. Therefore they made the offer to Lindros and Allison.

  8. We need actual proof KidRock :P

Sorry man, if you read it on the net don't believe it.

I hear ya Tony...the best I can do is say I was actually there when he and his wife boarded the aircraft...tried to get more info from him (Shanny) but all he'd do is smile. He did say he met with the Habs though...like I didn't know...who knows Tony?
  9. we can be certain it is either Montreal or LA. St. Louis and Boston are both out and there are very few rumours about LA. Many rumours about Montreal even from ESPN.

I know for a fact that Shanny was in Montreal today (with his wife) meeting with the Habs. He flew back to Boston at 18:00 on the airline I work for. Does not mean a thing but maybe the Habs are the second team involved?!
