  1. They have to trade this guy ASAP before he becomes the league joke. I see a player that started with a lot of promise but has steadily gotten worse over the last 3 seasons. No matter who's to blame but he isn't going to pan out in Hab land. When I see him continually pass the puck to the opponent, I sometimes think he is purposely playing bad so he can get his ass out of there as fast as he can and I don't really blame him. It's over, most importantly I think it's over in his own mind and I don't think he has the mental fortitude to overcome it. Trading for Duchene is the best thing that could happen now and Bergevin needs to make it happen soon before his worth is dramatically lower. He's a one dimensional player with a great shot and with the right centre he could hit 30 again but not in Montreal.
  2. I hope so, meat is always more impressive when it has staying power regardless of it's size
  3. Good test against a bottom feeder. Beaulieu top 2 D? Yikes Hope meat has a good game.
  4. Of course the heavier man is going to be slower off the mark than a smaller one. Same theory with cars. Big heavy muscle cars may have the power and top speed advantage but they'll get smoked in very short races. You can see it in the race. Weber gets ahead first and the horse nearly catches him. Can't change the laws of physics, you know, over coming inertia an such. He compensates down low with his reach, strength and hockey sense. He never had quickness yet he's a top D playing this way.
  5. Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Drouin This line will be a force and I'm excited to see it happen.
  6. Nick Holden from the Rangers is available apparently. He's a mobile D with good offensive numbers but Ranges want a centre but maybe something could be worked out. What could be offered from this roster. Obviously we couldn't send them a centre.
  7. Marky looks pretty slow doing that drill and he's winded at the end but what can you expect when pushing 40. Still want him back.
  8. Best post I've read here in a long time! In a sea of negativity and chicken little thinking practised here, this is a shining example of level headed reasoning and unbiased logic. What a better forum this would be with this type of attitude instead of the whining bitch fests that are found all too often here. You get a +1 from me.
  9. Excuse my ignorance of the forum personalities here but what is up with this guy? I've yet to hear a positive comment from him. Is this some kind of joke or are you really this negative about everything? Considering putting him on ignore.
  10. That's pretty much what I was saying there Cuke Joe is a great play maker and I'm not devaluing that, especially since we don't have one since Davy left (say what you will about him, you can't fault him for not having that ability). What I'm saying is if we lose 2 of our best scorers, Chuck for a D and Radulov walks, we're going to be awful thin on offence again so having big Joe won't help much. I agree a long term solution would be better but it's not feasible. I'll take a serviceable play maker like Thornton to tide us over for now.
  11. OK, that would work short term but still just a band aid solution. It might be good enough to put this team over the top during this 'window period' with the condition that we keep Chuck & Rad or at least get similar offense from replacements. Joe's 7 goals aren't going to do it on it's own. He needs someone to pass the puck to, poor old bugger.
  12. Markov isn't going anywhere. Not so sure about Radulov.
  13. I've noticed he's a bit off as well. For the most part he seems emotionless. He was like a robot at the awards, his facial expression never changing even when Fleury came on stage. He doesn't have the fire he used to have when he plays either like nothing bothers him and other players don't get under his skin like they used to. Probably has some form of brain damage already.
  14. Yeah it means either keep him or get a top line centre for him.
  15. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.react365.com/58afd68962c06/the-canadiens-traded-goaltender-carey-price-to-the-chicago-blackhawks-for-goaltenders-corey-crawford-and-right-winger-patrick-kane.html ok you can delete this now
  16. Still think the biggest need on this team is a legitimate #1 centre
  17. I think it would be worth a try seeing as he has experience in the position and there's a lack of anyone else to try at centre. If it works then it's a great gamble that pays off. He's a playmaker first and he's defensively responsible. Put him between two scorers and you got a good 2nd line. Plus getting rid of Shaw's contract would make keeping Hudon protected even more sensible.
  18. I don't like the idea of losing Hudon who has the ability to play centre. He could potentially fill the #2 spot with a small cap hit but he never will get a chance now unless Vegas goes another direction. Shaw did nothing for us and getting rid of that salary would have left more options open.
  19. You've echoed what I'm thinking. If we're going to lose Rad or trade Gal for another defenseman, then this deal looks like a whole lot of fancy shuffling without actually accomplishing anything. We meed offence, that's clear. To replace one guy with another one with the same point potential seems useless unless there is something else in the works.
  20. You can't teach athletic ability to skate or size to hit effectively but defensive positioning is a learned talent and he's still fairly young. He has the potential to be a serviceable 4th liner if this organization has the ability to get him there is another question.
  21. Team gave a great effort, ran out of energy and lost in overtime. Could of went either way but the series is far from over. Is there any voice of reason on this pathetic hockey forum? Let's make magical trades and bring in Stamkos and Crosby for Carr and Ott and then trade Pacioretty for a bag of shyte because didn't score all those goals over the years - that was a mass illusion. Coming here and reading these negative comments from spoiled brats that think they know anything puts a real downer on being a Habs fan. You want a dominant team that is a cup favourite every year? Quite simple. Tank for about 6/7 years, collect the best players available at the draft and go from there. Is that what you want? A whole bunch of you need a reality check like you wouldn't believe. Either that or you're a bunch of 12 yr olds that need more t!tty time from mommy.
