No? Not a fan of Norlinder?

In a way you can look at what it took for Vegas to get Pacioretty from us: Suzuki, Tatar, and a second. Pacioretty however is a much older player, so the ask will naturally be even higher. Tatar is the Domi type decent roster player Suzuki = Romanov and then we have the pick I'd argue Suzuki/Romanov have similar level of value (at the time of the trade). Domi has perhaps a little more value than Tatar. However, Laine has significantly more value than Patch. I.e., we need to include atleast a first instead of a second, and perhaps even a little more besides. How would people feel about Domi, Norlinder, 2020 16th OA + lotto protected 2021 first rnd pick for Laine and a 2020 3rd I have a feeling some here may actually like Norlinder as much as Romanov, so its likely too steep a price. It might even be too steep for me, but I'm just curious about your opinions

So with Jarvis at 16, would you be happy with that for the Habs? curious to know who you are hoping slips to 16 for us

Seems like a fair comparison to me. I may be wrong, but I think Holloway may be a step slower, but perhaps has a little better edgework than Kreider. Overall both are incredible skaters regardless. I think they may be a little different stylistically, though I’ve only done a little light reading on them. it seems Holloway may be a little more two-way, making sure to put back pressure on the opposition, and play a More responsible game. Kreider in the other hand uses a wicked forecheck in a “best defense is a good offensive” style. Correct me if I’m wrong anyone, that’s what I gather from a little reading i have this inclination that the habs are going to take one of the skilled but two-way forwards in this range: Mercer, Holloway, or Reichel

I really like Petry, I’m glad we have him, but given his age this contract gets a sort of “meh” from me. im definitely not upset by it, but Petry will actually be 38 I think when it’s done?

I like that Edmunson just turned 27 in June. which means we have him while he’s 27, 28, 29 and 30. We shouldn’t see much decline due to age there. 3.5 per should be a good deal as long as Edmunson is a good fit in the habs system. Question now is what other movement might we see with the glut on defense?

In that case we got at least one more good year of Danault making it easier on the kids

Why would the habs acquire yet another defenseman? and Domi alone gets you no where near Laine imo. Domi + Mete and either our first OR a second + B prospect (Brook, ikonen Ylonen etc) Could just be my opinion tho

Domi, Brook and a 2nd for Laine I hear Laine/Ehlers are otb i don’t see Connor being traded

That would be my ideal pick, but I’m also biased since I’m a Newfoundlander hahah i think Jarvis is very talented, but Caufeild probably fills the hole he would slot into. Mercer seems to have a tenacity, ruggedness and two-way game. Could be an excellent fit to the system

IF we beat the pens and pick around 16, there are still quite a few prospects I like. Mercer, Holloway, Guhnler, Zary, Schneider and Jarvis are some of my favorites. Who else? Or who out of the above do you guys think would be a good pick at 16
