  1. Alright though scherbak is looking ok!
  2. Damnit Pastrnak! To the ruins no less
  3. I've had my eye on Pastrnak. He was so slick at the world juniors
  4. I think that subban is slowly silencing the unwarranted criticism through his play. I mean people are going to start looking dumb for criticizing him soon. He's basically a consensus top 10 defenseman league wide. Like dlbalr said, Subban is outspoken anyway. Hell, I'd say he's in the media the most of any NHL player. Everyone would get criticized if they lived the same way, he might just get a tiiiiny bit more because of unconscious racism. The fact that we have a thread about this is proof that color is taken into account on some level, else we just wouldn't care. Personally I love everything about PK. He's the most entertaining Hab I've ever watched, and from his suits to his interviewing to his slap shot to his dangles, I wouldn't change him. We got a superstar, and one who's clearly able to take the criticism in stride. There's a baby elephant in the room at most.
  5. 1,2,3,4 and 5 in a row are gone now. I have mixed feelings too, but I'd probably feel better about it if I was actually alive when these players were inducted. I just worry like cukes that too many are starting to be inducted.
  6. Whew.. Well I have to give Therrien props for a great playoffs. I haven't been the biggest supporter of Therrien but if he can keep up the style of play the playoffs brought as well as have faith in the kids, I'm happy enough
  7. And what hurts even more, Chris Kreider was picked right after Leblanc.
  8. The part that's disappointing is that he was a 1st round pick. It's a real shame after the solid rookie season he had. He really looked to be an nhler after that. Basically a 1st rounder for a late 5th round pick. Ouch
  9. A blindside is almost always impossible to avoid, as they are usually dirty and the receiver isn't at fault. But I will say I think I've had a bias for thrower since he was drafted. I meanhe actually drew parallels to subban in his draft year. I had really high hopes for him. He compared decently to players like Reilly, dumba and Reinhart (points wise) in his draft year. But I guess the scouts could clearly see that some other factor was the difference between and elite prose left and the mid second round pick he was.
  10. I know in throwers draft year he was the pp quarterback. The next year, I believe a couple injuries took him out early, and some punk called Darren dietz stole his spot on the pp and scored the most goals by any defenceman in the process. A reminder that although thrower did have a bad season that year, he still had close to 30 points in around 55 games if I remember right, and was + 18 I believe. If he didn't battle injuries and still had that #1 pp spot, it could have easily been 50 points in 60 games. He can make it yet.
  11. Actually yes, his timing is good for his checks, maybe I should give him more credit there. No doubt his hockey sense has a lot to do with that. And come to think about it, putting on 10-15 pound would help significantly with making his checks more punishing. Physical maturation could go a long way for bournival.
  12. One thing I've noticed with bournival is that his shot is absolute garbage. He can skate like the wind yes, but how many times did I watch a half decent scoring chance unfold only for bournival to send a very weak wrister straight into the goalie's crest. IF he could develop his shot I truly think he could be a gem, and I do like him, but until that time I don't think he's much more than a bottom six plugger. A very quick one, but not an overly physical one either. Now, with a shot.. What a difference it would mean to him as a player. Kessel-esqe. I'm looking forward to his development though. Maybe added strength will give him that shot.
  13. For the record I said "I'm not saying he should be traded by any means" I don't want to get rid of Plecanek, I just think he's starting to slow down.
  14. Here's a short list of left wingers either by FA or trade that might look alright: Mason Raymond, Milan Micalek, Darren Helm, Brendan Morrow, Tomas Fleischman and actually moulson is listed as a left winger. All of these guys would either bring a combination of size, speed, defensive awareness, or scoring ability
  15. What do you guys think about Plekanec? Of course he's still a great defensive forward, but I think he lost a step in the post season. Maybe he was just gassed. I'm not saying he should be traded by any means, but my only question is, is there anyone is the league who could fit the role of a third line Center for cheaper than him now (without sacrificing too much) Just looking at all options. I mean, Eller had a strong post season, and despite bad point production last season, I think we could agree he played well defensively, not to mention that he's more physical than plex. Bottom line is that trading plex could free up 5 mill to sign a left wing for Eller's spot (2.5-3.5 mill) and have more left for that right winger. (Moulson Iggy Vanek etc) Just a thought, not dumping on Plekanec Ps. Proud of the boys this year. Gave of some exciting hockey late in the playoffs.
  16. Agreed, the hit was almost a Prust repeat. Should be 2. Weise went off and looked pretty wobbly too. The fact that he was injured might factor in. I'm glad we managed to win this not just 5-4, but 7-4. The fact that we climbed back to a 3 goal lead is important for the team's confidence I think. It was a shaky game, but at least they can say "hey, we scored 7 goals." At least the offense was flowing. Hopefully they bring the same energy that the first 30 minutes had, and not how the final 30 felt.
  17. I agree that Plekanec should not have done that. Stick never even touched him
  18. Great pace so far! Like you guys said, how about Galchenyuk? Some of the best hockey I've seen him play. Keep the lead boys!
  19. Actually looking back game 2 of this series was played well by the Habs.
  20. Haven't posted for a while guys! Just been enjoying the playoffs and $#!4!ng my pants every now and then. Honestly I loved every moment of these playoffs, up untill game 1 and 2 of this series lol. Honestly killed my buzz for a few days. But! The Habs have givin themselves and myslef life again with the last win. In a 2-1 series anything can happen. I know our team can do this! I tip my hat to both budaj and tokarski, but most give budaj a bro hug. What a guy. I have confidence in the Habs. If the Habs win the next game I think they can take the series. Go Habs go!
  21. I hope the boys just play the same game they brought against Tampa. Hopefully the bruins biggest embarrassment wot be their media, but will be getting comepletely outplayed by the Habs and losing the series hard. First game is a big game! I hope the break wasn't too long!
  22. That game was so fun to watch. The guys were clicking so good! Price is rockin it too
  23. There is no such thing as a better bounce back than that
