This is literally exactly how I feel from your points on subban to Gallagher. I honestly miss Gill just because of his relationship with PK. He really understood PK I think. Ever think he'll make a good coach? I mean he never had the skill of an elite defenseman, but he certainly had the technical defensive aspect down. Plus he's a great guy, I think he would really click with his players and they would work their asses off for him. Btw I mean defense coach not head coach

Budaj has a great ability to not play much and be on his game as soon as he has to step in. I've liked budaj the whole time he's been here, and as far as backups go, he has to be up there. Definitely a great win percentage with the habs

Ok that's Definitely a point that I was forgetting. All I was trying to say is that I felt DD had far more chances than PK. Don't get me wrong, I think PK by now should have been benched, a couple times. My problem though is that I'm not sure it's helping him any more than hurting him now

I think the issue here is that Therrien has been benching PK from the first giveaway he ever made. Responding with such little confidence in a top young defensivemen has to harm pk's confidence. Now I know PK has a strong personality, but there's only so much mental abuse anyone can take. Between the media calling PK a constant danger in his own end, and Therrien not playing in OT, benching him for extended periods of time.. Wow that has to hurt the psyche. I think anyone's play would drop off with blows to the confidence like that. Imagine PK was treated the way DD was. 2nd, 3rd 4th... 19th chances. After being benched as much as he has, PK understands that giving the puck away is bad I'm quite sure. Destroying confidence only increases his likelyhood of giving it away again. Have some bloody confidence in one of your best players Therrien. We all know how PK plays when he has confidence. (See the game versus Dallas some time around January)

Oh look! The Habs still can't score. Ahh, I suppose I have to give them a game or two slack after the break. But watching a team that doesn't produce offense is not entertaining, especially when they lose half the time. Do you guys think this is a coaching problem or a team problem? Maybe a bit of both.. I honestly think it might be a little more coaching. Whyyyyyy is Therrien's system so different this year?

I agree that the cap is going up but so is our spending. Subban and Eller are do for hefty raises. Emelin will be making 4 a year. That's translates to what, around 7 million in increase (ball park)? The cap does not sort itself out, the GM does

To be honest I'm almost comepletely in favor of trading him for a top prospect. I say prospect and not pick because his development curve would already be in line with Galchenyuk Gallagher and the core. Beyond that as you guys have mentioned, that clears up a good 4-5 mill in cap space depending on the prospect.

With reports of a rejected 6 million dollar 1-year offer to Markov, it's got me thinking. How much is too much/long for Markov at greater than 6 million? Honesty at 6, I don't want to see more than 2 years, although it seems he wants 3. Also, I get the feeling Markov won't be traded, regardless of contract situation.

I know what you're saying about perimeter play/ trap, but Canada dominated possession all tournament. The quality of Canada's play was phenomenol. As a Canadian, it was insanely entertaining to watch our team literally hold possession for minutes at a time in some instances. That being said, I can see how someone who isn't Canadian would tire of watching them cycle the puck for a minute. But that was the game plan, and they excuted it almost flawlessly. They got better as the competition got tougher.

Up till 4:00 player poker with the boys.. Up at 8:20 to watch the game (Newfoundland time) CANADA!

I started watching the game right when Canada went down 2-0. Time kept running down and it wasn't looking good at all. 3:30 left and Canada Scored, me and my buddies didn't want to get our hopes up. But they pulled the goalie and boom tied it up. That was my favorite moment. Call me crazy but saving yourself from losing the gold is almost sweeter than winning it. Awesome game. Here's to the boys having that kin of game tomorrow!

This game probably gave a million Canadians high blood pressure. What's amazing is we legitimately could have lost without a few key saves from price. Yes he let in a breakaway goal, but he kept 3 or four great chances out too. I reeeeally hope they put subban in next game. They need the offence, not the defence.

Gotta say I've changed my stance on Doughty. Always thought he was overrated, but he's really showed great poise and skill over the first first games. Funny that like Cucumber said above he's reminded me of none other than subban himself, which is hilarious considering Subban is out of the lineup.
