  1. We're still talking Carbo? Coach, get lost!! You were fired.

Cool, gotcha... He sure did. He said, looking back now, it wasn't ideal. He was asked that question at the season ending press conference.

He didn't say it was Brian Lawton's fault. What he said was yes, the players involved in trade talks, leaked by the pathetic office in Tampa, were disrupted. He was asked a question about it, he answered it.

Now we've heard it all, the reluctance of UFA's to sign here is the fault of Gainey's style??? He flew Shanahan around the city in a helicopter, that isn't quiet thinking to me. You have no clue what he say's or doesn't say to a player and his agent anyway.

I hear ya, but I think what he says to the media and what he's aware of are two different things. Bob would be happy if he never saw a microphone again in his life. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but he basically said the current UFA situation was not ideal, as the season went on.
  6. I like the Hartley idea. Bilingual, successful, moved up the ranks, junior, minors. One thing worries me. He's never considered for other jobs. He doesn't even appear to get interviews. In a league that constantly recycles coaches, I'd be curious as to why he's not one of them.
  7. Someone actually voted for Carbo. Uh, he's not coming back. Guy, time to go away.
  8. Are you trying to tell us that list of francophone media outlets does not have a biased point of view? Some of what I hear on CKAC is disgusting. Le journal is nothing more than fish-wrap, a complete tabloid- style rag. Let's not all get too, you need to be in Quebec to have a clue what's going on, it's 2009, not 1939. And again, this is my home, always has been, always will be.
  9. So Easy Rider, that was your flame-out in a blaze of glory post, and we're never going to hear from you again, right, hopefully, please...
  10. Today Bob called the Tampa ownership and GM disgaceful, for the way they handled the january trade talks.
  11. I'm from a suburb of Montreal, born and raised here. It's indicated in my profile, hello??? You are from Quebec City, a completely different world than Montreal. This is The Montreal Canadiens, not the Montreal Poutines. The team has never been solely and completely quebecois, and thankfully, it never will.
  12. Well, at least your message is consistant. That's all you add to the discussion though. Local, Quebec, ya ya, we get it.
  13. You actually miss Carbo?? Coaches are fired all the time in pro-sports. It's the nature of the beast. Long term consequenses? zero, in my opinion. Coaches have a shelf life, it's up to them to find a balance, and deal with the players. It appears that was Carbo's weakness.
  14. I'm afraid that 2009 has taught us one thing, we can forget about Lecavalier. Nobody on the current roster would interest Tampa, maybe Markov, that's it.
  15. It pains me to say this, but Tanguay is exactly as advertised. A no show in the playoffs.
  16. After we're swept, I hope for Claude Julien, that they face the devils, and eliminate them. He seems like a nice enough man. He deserves a chance to get back at the two teams that fired him.
  17. Ya, I follow the team. Thanks for the update. Obviously, you didn't see the Jones stuff, even the host of the program gave him a funny reaction. But again, thanks for the useless response.
  18. Anybody catch Keith Jones on TSN? Another fool in a suit who has an opinion. The same clown who said Florida would make it, and we'd be out. Before I could grab the remote, he said something about the poor little habs, something like that anyway.
  19. Exactly. He just perpetuated the myth about QC born players, the myth I hate. That we're all visor wearing wimps.
  20. So Bob's had no effect? Is that what you're trying to tell us all?
  21. You're bang on. We risk becoming Tampa north, too much money locked up in too few players, with a salary cap. Maybe it's worth it who knows.
  22. Funny this is a topic. The TV was on TSN, some reporter, Sherri Forde I think was her name, really emphasized the iennnes. Which sounded so odd, my wife even commented. For us, born and raised here in Montreal, the team is pronounced the same way as citizens of our wonderful country.
  23. Why doesn't that little b**ch just go away. Seriously, it's in the past. Whatever Ribeiro, whatever...
  24. You made a list?? You have no clue what you're talking about. Rating coaches from in front of your computer. Kindly don't refer to this as rhetoric, when you limit the available pool of something to a specific group, you're , ahhh forget it, you'll never get it. Nobody's argueing against a francophone coach, I'd prefer one. Any habs fan is a friend of mine, peace.
