  1. If Kovalev is traded this year for players with a bright future, but can't help this season, some serious questions should be asked by ownership. At some point you've got to roll the dice in life. It's like people who stay in university most of their life, sure, learning is great, but life is passing them by. Yes, injuries to all of Bob's off season moves have affected our winter, but good GM's adjust. Personally, I've had it with this bright future garbage. Alot of these players may never develop the way we hope. A perfect example is Chris Higgins, at one point, he was a future captain, now? I want him as part of a package deal to salvage a year that began with so much promise.
  2. At the end of the west coast roadtrip, we may actually be SELLERS.
  3. Big and tough, old time hockey by Laraque. Just what we needed, another penalty.
  4. Saturday night, nationwide. Laughable.
  5. I like the sweaters. Easy on the ugly comments, maybe if they were UPS brown I'd use ugly to describe them.
  6. Ok, now you proved you don't get it. The Habs and Leafs were always said to be the two Canadian teams that would never move, ever. Hockey in this area has always been thought of as "religion" like. You're taking the word religion to literally.
  7. With all do respect, I completely disagree. For starters, the Canadiens as a religion goes back, well about 99 years ago. It's not a new idea. As for nobody giving a "crap", uh, not in my circle of friends, family, workplace, neighborhood, street. Re-energized, maybe. As for knowing jack about hockey, who really cares about the Phoenix Coyotes 3rd line centre? The bottom line is Habs fans are some of the most knowledgable about the game, if they aren't, than who is??
  8. Not being traded?? Because the Tampa GM said so? If anything, the denials are proof that it's a possibility. Maybe not to the Habs.
  9. I agree, but he'd be a total rental, which is risky. If we tried to resign him, and sign Komisarek, we'd have over 20 million locked up in 4 defencemen.
  10. If you don't have a career in writing, you should change up!! That "O" "vechkin" line made me laugh out loud!!!
  11. I hate to say it, but Kovalev could be in the mix. With his expiring contact, Tampa could take him, free us some space, and still present the dwindling fan base of theirs a top player. It's the longevity of Vinnie's contact that troubles the lightning.
  12. He're we go. According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the idea of trading Vincent Lecavalier is being considered. It was discussed on local Montreal radio this morning.
  13. Whining?? Is that was that was? Seems more like concern. If you don't think a UFA Komisarek won't get big offers, you're out to lunch.
  14. I got all that, we all know that. The point is Komisarek, a team like the leafs, would be in a position to offer him big money. Ok, than I guess we'll do a Bob and wait and see.
  15. The cap doesn't drop a players salary. If we can't fit him under our cap, he'll sign with a team that has the available cap space.
  16. Ya, that's the point. That's Bob's policy. If one day we lose a player, he's going to look like he's asleep at the wheel.
  17. I believe in everything Bob does! I'd like him to finish his career here in Montreal. However, not dealing with players during the season may cost us. A local radio host recently spoke about how much Komisarek loves being on this team. Bob, let's get this done!!
  18. I like your thinking as well. I've had it with all the media experts (Pierre McGuire) who think the guy is ruined because he didn't go to the minors. Let him develop on the 4th line, like he's doing, and see where it leads.
  19. Great, trade Kovalev for a draft pick?? And try to acquire a goal scorer that nobody want's to give up, and mix in a top four defenceman, that nobody wants to give up!! I'd fire that off to Santa Clause as fast as you can.
  20. I hear ya. It's how I feel. Sundin's got way more in the tank than Gilmour and Corson did.
  21. In my humble opinion, NO WAY IN HELL does Sundin sign with us. If he has any sense of history, any ties to the leafs, he'll never sign with a hated rival. By not taking the Canuck offer, it tells me he's carefully thinking this through. This idea that he's played in two eastern cities means zero. If anything, he'll head west, and try something competely different for him and his family. It's obvious he would have prefered to finish up in torornto, if that's not possible, he'll never go and tarnish his reputation.
  22. I love it, but it scares me. By early december, our lovable, cuddly francophone media could be ripping this guy daily.
  23. I caught an interview with Doug Maclean, the ex Blue Jacket GM. For what it's worth, he wasn't overly enthused about Brunnstrom. He thought it was more a case of pressure to find someone, anyone out there that can make a difference for interested teams. There's talk that if signed, he may even need time in the minors.
  24. What do we need for next year? I'd like Bob to try and sign Antoine Vermette. There's got to be at least one Quebec born player that's willing to sign here, and take part in the centennial festivities. Sure, he's not the superstar we'd like, but it's a start. Hell, he can even have Smolinski's #20.
