  1. How about this for a third line: Begin-Dowd-Ward These guys could mesmerize opponents now and in the playoffs with their speed, grit, and physical play.. I like it a lot better then Sundstrom-Juneau-Dackell... Lineup: Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev Bulis-Ribeiro-Ryder Begin-Dowd-Ward Langdon/Juneau/Kilger/Dackell/Sundstrom/Perreault to make up the 4th line. Begin and Dowd somewhat remind me of two role players we had during our last playoff run in 02. Bill Lindsay and Shaun VanAllen (VanAllen more so then Lindsay)....They were two underrated but very key parts to that team just like Begin and Dowd will be to this years team. :ghg:
  2. I dont think the dealing is done... Im expecting at least a d-man and maybe another winger to replace Dagenais.. Think theres anychances on the Hill, O'neill trade??
  3. 7 more points and he'll be the highest scoring newfie and then there's nothing they can say about it!.. I agree, The Newfie's playing hockey in the NHL to me are the ones that got recognized while playing in NFLD, like Ryder. The guys who were just borned here and then raised somewhere else dont even get big coverage here in NFLD. For example, Brad Brown theres never a word about him on the local news, while Ryder, Druken, King, Langdon and even Michael's younger brother Daniel get all kinds of coverage. :ghg:
  4. Puck, im looking for a Ryder pic to use...I have a couple but neither will work. can you help??
  5. I'm starting to agree with habitual habs, as i said before unless Kovalev signs here and plays well, or the habs win the cup this season, this deal makes no sense. Give up a top prospect for a rent a player?? But it's nice to have a player of his calibre on the team. I hope BG makes another move for a player who'll help us now and in the future. As for the guys saying that Dagenais should stay on the 2nd line even when Bulis returns, it's a crazy thought.... The guy is a bum, his 15 minutes of fame are over. The chemistry he and Ribs had first is gone, so i say get rid of him NOW! The guy who writes the game reports is constantly sayin that he's the weakest link on the line everynight. He's hurting the line when you could have a solid player like Bulis there. My lines: Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev(boy that sounds good) Bulis-Ribeiro-Ryder Begin-Juneau-Dackell Langdon-Kilger-Ward Those lines dominated the Devils, and now with kovalev on the top line instead of Perreault it should be even better. :ghg:
  6. Oh man, I'd love to have BIG George in a Habs Uni!!! But i also like Barnaby.... Just imagine a line with Begin and Barnaby......enough said!! :ghg:
  7. TSN has confirmed that he'll make his debut tonight! Should be a good game to watch! :ghg:
  8. Bulis wont be on the top two lines??? To Hell with Dagenais, he makes that line look bad too many times. Ryder and Ribs are the best duo on the team right now, they definitely have the most chemistry of any pairing i can think of. If you add Bulis to the line you add Speed, hard work, a more physical presence then Dags, and a very reliable defensive forward who has some offensive upside. IMO, if you can add all those assets to that line and only lose a guy who has nothing only a hard shot that he over uses tooooo much, it's a no brainer to put Bulis on that line. I still wish Gainey will aquire another winger for the line but right now Bulis should be the guy when he returns. :ghg:
  9. IMO, if Kovalev doesn't play against the Sharks because he needs to sleep, he can stay on the plane and go back to the Rags. If he cant get excited about coming to the greatest team in NHL history, a team that WILL be in the Playoffs, a team that's on a 5 game winning streak, he wont be much help to the team.... I definitely think he'll play......It's gonna be fun to watch, I cant wait!! :ghg:
  10. You must be still caught up in the Koivu vs Ribiero feud... Because there's no other way a habs fan would want to trade Ribs. This has been his first season where he's been given a good opportunity and he's done nothing but score. He's only 23 and he's gonna get even better, He should be our #2 center for a long time. The only way i'd trade Ribiero right now would be for either: Lecavalier Kovalchuk Nash Iginla Which makes it impossible... :ghg:
  11. Gainey said he wasn't here to make the PLayoffs, he was here to win Championships. This is a very good trade for the Habs right now, the type of trade i was hoping they'd make. When Bulis returns our top two lines should look like this: Zed-Koivu-Kovalev Bulis-Ribs-Ryder Two real great scoring threats for the Playoffs. But this deal makes no sense in a lot of ways as well. Unless the Habs win the Cup we are the losers in this trade, because in the off season Kovalev signs somewhere else and we've lost a young prospect who can shoot score and skate, also a 2nd rounder. The only way this trade will be good is if 1) The team actually does win the cup 2) kovalev signs for at least another year, preferably 3-4 years. Also as many mentioned it's nice to have a star on the team. :ghg:
  12. The Habs won 10 OT games that year, an NHL record. Thats amazing, 10 out of 16 wins came in OT!! What a sweet year, Hopefully the Cup will soon be back where it belongs! :ghg:
  13. Great game to win!... 11 points ahead of the Sabres now and just 4 behind the Devils. hopefully the team can keep playing consistantly the rest of the way. Can't afford any losing streaks now. :ghg:
  14. Tampa are really playin well, but i still think they'll finish third. Either way i hope the habs avoid them. :ghg:
  15. Another huge win, incresing the lead on the isles Sabres and Panthers...Also gaining on the Devils, just 6 behind them now with 3 games left against them.. Could the Habs possibly catch the Devils??? IMO, i hope they dont.. If the Habs finish 6th that means a first round match against the lightning, i dont think anybody wants to face those guys in the first round. As i said before, for some reason i hope the teams first round opponent is Philly.. :ghg:
  16. I think we need two left wingers... Someone to go on the top line and someone to go on the 2nd line. The guys who are there now just dont get the job done. We could get away with Bulis on one of those lines because of his hard work and defensive play. With Bulis out of the lineup for 4 weeks, why not bring up Hossa again. Maybe he'll give us 5 or 6 good games untill gainey can get something done. :ghg:
  17. Jagr would never help out the youth who are on the way, he's too damn selfish. :ghg:
  18. Good Idea!!! After Jagr gets with the team, maybe gainey will go after Sakic, Forsberg, Kovalchuk, St.Louis, Bertuzzi and Naslund..................... Then just before the trade deadline he also aquires Lidstrom, Pronger, Blake, and Foote. What a team we're gonna have when March 10th rolls around!
  19. I definitely agree!!!! A true habs fan that attends a game is there to cheer on the team and hope for a win, and stick with the team no matter what..... For those guys to go and bash Koivu, the captain of the team that they supposedly go for is sick. Saku has always been a class act on and off the ice, he always shows his will to win and risks everything for this habs team... In my mind he's a great captain, I don't understand why other people disagree. :ghg:
  20. What a game, and what a huge win!!!! If they can play like this now for the rest of the season, they'll be in good shape come playoff time... If only Gainey could pick up someone to fit in on the second line with Ryder and Ribeiro, it could lethal!!! :ghg:
  21. Habs need a Left winger for the 2nd line....Or for the 1st line then move Bulis to the 2nd. Ribs and Ryder need someone besides Dagenais with them..... :ghg:
  22. Now if we just had a team like the Lakers to go along with the fighting!!!. Things would be perfect in Habland.... Hopefully a shakeup by Gainey is on the way, if not, the team will be booed off the ice a lot more.. :ghg:
  23. It's nice to dream though! He'd be a perfect fit, big, strong, and offensive...which is desperately needed in Montreal. It'll be a long time before the habs get a top line center of this size and Calibre. :ghg:
  24. I hope something soon happens. The team is looking disgraceful again, i cant imagine wathicng these guys in a playoff series, nervously wondering before each period which team is gonna come out of the dressing room. (The team that dominates almost all of the play, the team that gives half of an effort, or the team that simply just doesn;t show up at all) Something has to be done. Does anyone know if Lecavalier would be available, Due to the controversy with the coach??? I doubt it, but this would be a guy i'd love to see in a habs uniform! :ghg:
