Hab fan since the days of Guy Lafleur. Mats Naslund is my favourite all time Hab, though. With a tip of the hat to Mark Napier.

  1. Touchy, touchy. You know decaf tastes just as good. I calmed myself down by reminding myself that nothing we did last night had any effect on who and when we play in the playoffs. Players have a short memory when it comes to these things and so should we.
  2. New Jersey had something to play for and we did not. No point in getting upset about it. Gainey and the boys have a lot to work out before the playoffs, though. Alot!
  3. So much for carrying momentum into the post season. Yikes what a comeback. New Jersey is super hot. I'd hate to be the Rangers meeting them in the opening round.
  4. This isn't about mic'd players, but it is about RDS. I'm wondering if RDS will be showing the Habs playoff games? Anybody...any idea....
  5. The Senators are ripe for the picking. A team as quick as the Habs can really build up some playoff momentum with a first round victory.
  6. I won't speculate on the outcome of the Montreal/New Jersey game. As far as the Habs play is concerned, I'm just not thinking straight right now. However, I do see Florida having a great chance against Atlanta on Tuesday. Florida has been very good down the stretch and it will be Atlanta's second game in as many nights. Also, Luongo will play outstanding because he wants Montreal to grab some playoff revenue so they can afford to pay him when he's dealt our way in the off season. (How's that for speculation).
  7. We need help. New Jersey has our number. We need help. We need somebody other than us to choke late in the season. Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable. I can't believe after eight straight wins and challenging for sixth we that we need help to make the playoffs.
  8. The Habs could use some more size, but I hope it is not Bertuzzi. It would cost us too many prospects and too many dollars. I'd rather see the Habs make a pitch for Jason Arnott.
  9. 44 saves against a big team. Shall we now discuss my theories on the 'fake' moon landings.
  10. I've got a theory. David A. played well in the loss to Carolina. Most of the Habs forgot to show up that night and left him high and dry on most of the 5 goals he gave up. He was terrible in both games against Pittsburgh. My theory. David plays better against better teams. I know it is a reach, but I suspect if the rest of the team shows up against Ottawa we'll pull out a 4-3 decision. Just a theory. I also believe man has yet to walk on the moon, so take it for what it is worth.
  11. Kovalev looks like market value this season, but when he is making 4.5 million at age 36 he may not look like such a bargain. $2 million per year for two seasons is far from massive. Besides, what other choice do we have. Danis and Price aren't ready and Aebischer scares the heck out of me. Based on Huet's play this season $2 million per season for two seasons is a bargain even if he turns out to be the next Steve Penney. I didn't use Theo in this analogy because a bad half season is no reason to write off his career. If he tanks next season then I'll call him a bum, but not until. Peace.
  12. Huet is 30. Because he isn't exactly a spring chicken his time for a big pay day is right now. I see him holding out for a multi-year deal and big, big, bucks. Because of his age his loyalty is to himself. This may be his only chance for a big contract and someone is going to give it to him. Gainey's history suggests he will offer at least $4 million over 2 years. The reason - free agents don't think of Montreal as their first choice to sign. That's why Gainey had to overpay (slightly) for Kovalev, Koivu, Dandenault. He may even get a bigger offer from Bobsled. Even at that amount Huet still may be the biggest bargain in hockey.
  13. If you break this ritual and the Habs lose, you will hate yourself. Continue, continue, continue. Myself, I've managed to miss the first half of the first period of the last four Habs wins. Coincidence? I'm not taking any chances. RDS isn't getting tuned in until at least 9 p.m. Atlantic time on Thursday. Shoot I think I just stepped on a crack.
