  1. Kost scores? ah ah ah, that's great. Lets hope he doesn't make a defensive mistake causing him to get benched for the remainder of the game!
  2. I'm stuck at the office for a long evening. I trust you guys will keep me- and other poor saps like me- posted on the exciting developments of the game as they occur. Thanks for taking the torch from failing hands.
  3. ah the eternal debate: something reliable which is cheap on gaz or something actually fun to drive. will man never find full satisfaction?
  4. I'd love for the Habs to purchase the Pens, then move Crosby over to the Habs and then do whatever they wish with the rest of the team, who would care. Yes, it could happen. [Edited on 2005/12/12 by Rooster]
  5. Seems to be a fair bit of pessimism here. Come on boys. The season is still on track. My 97 point prediction (landing me a case of beer) is still realistic. Cheer up. 3-2 Habs win!
  6. A Machine I tell you. That man is a Machine! Great to have him back so soon!
  7. Sloths can't validly assume risk. They are so dumb they mistake their limbs for branches of the tree they are climbing, remember:) [Edited on 2005/12/10 by Rooster]
  8. I also remember hearing stuff about the Red Wings having offered a package centered on Yzerman in 95. Anybody else hear that or did I just dream it?
  9. When everybody seems to be pointing at a little ketchup stain you may have in the corner of your mouth, it's probably cause there's a ketchup stain there. May want to stop freeking out cause people are pointing at you and simply check for the ketchup stain. Removing it will stop the pointing. Discussions on this board are not centered on you. People disagree with people all the time and put forth their arguments. That's a good thing. You seem to have "predicted" stuff that you feel people disagreed with. That happens to EVERYBODY here. That's what discussing ideas means. Don't take it personal. It really isn't about you personally. Nobody has insulted you or disrespected you or whatever. They just stated their opinions to which they are entitled. The only time people jumped on you was in this thread. This thread is a ketchup stain. I'd suggest removing the ketchup stain, the pointing will stop. [Edited on 2005/12/9 by Rooster]
  10. Guess I'll start the predictions of who comes out of their groups: A Germany Costa Rica B England Sweeden C Argentina Netherlands D Portugal Mexico E Czech reb. USA F Brazil Croatia G South Korea Switzerland H Ukraine Spain Notables that don't get out of their group: France, Italy, Japan. The World Cup is coming!
  11. Being of Portuguese origins, I'm happy for Benfica. Being an Arsenal fan, I'm happy ManU is out. Well, guess I'm generally happy:)
  12. Grey is dull. We want answers. You are either with us or against us! Sorry about that, what you say is true. I just feel that the Habs are a good, young but fragile team that is a couple puzzle pieces away from being very good and solid. Great teams are not built over night. I feel the Habs CAN become a serious contender in upcomming years if those pieces are put in place properly. That is good news. That hasn't been the case for many years.
  13. No prob. I've enjoyed your comments on this board. Just thought today was a bit defensive. No biggy.
  14. Neither is modesty it would seem. Nobody is "against you" other than your current "everybody in the world is stupid but me" rant. Dude, the vast majority of people here, as I recall, always said the habs were not a first place team at all -they were simply happy with the early success. Not the same thing. Btw, the current slump is not the "real worth" of the habs either. It's in between. Hossa, some people liked, some people less. But again as I recall, nobody thought it was the end of the world to lose Hossa...more of a why did we move him now and is there other players that should have been moved in his place. Again not the same thing. Anyway, it was a minor trade. Hainsey was a minor trade. It doesn't really matter, especially if discussions are going to be taken out of context and greatly generalized and misinterpreted. Don't take things so personal. I've enjoyed your posts over time. Nothing should be made or viewed as personal attacks. Discussions really aren't centered on you. Lots of people said what you said. Lots of people might have said otherwise. Whatever. Keep it zen man:)
  15. maybe that makes sense to you crazy civilians! We common law folks have litagious restraint. ¸well I don't know about you common law restrained folks as i didn't dwell on the question of torts and sloths while in England and kinda don't do torts or "law" in a corporate financing & acquisitions practice, but this crazy civilian kinda remembers something learned in first year some time back to the effect of an extra-contractual duty to abide by the rules of conduct which lie upon him, according to the circumstances, usage or law, so as not to cause injury to another. Kinda also remember some crazy judges of sloths saying that if you have a public space -like a forest for the sloths- you do have certain duties -like not allowing those limb confusing death trap trees around without any warning to slaughter those poor baby sloths- failing which you may be liable. Won't someone please think of the sloths!!!!
  16. would a reasonable three toed sloth believe their arm was a tree branch? should we judge this sloth against reasonable sloths or reasonable baby sloths? but for this belief, would the sloth die? do the sloth's parents have a duty to ensure that their child understands the difference between a limb and a branch? Does the sloth's teacher? Am I going insane? As you may one day have the pleasure to realize, the only objective/subjective test that applies is whatever rationalization the judge of sloths feels like using. Come to think of it, forget the sloths altogether. That's a dead end. Best go after the deep pockets of the forest companies that failled to provide sloth safe trees. [Edited on 2005/12/8 by Rooster] there are forest companies? you can find a duty to the sloth from the forest company? Is there a special relationship? Aren't there a myriad of line-drawing problems? Oh come now, forest companies -or logging companies- know that, within their tenures, they have limb confusing trees and that baby sloths live in the area. By keeping these death traps as is without any kind of warning to the sloths they solve the line drawing problem. Poor baby sloths, they never stood a chance against the negligence of these multinationals.
  17. Huet this year. Danis next year. Danis has to get playing time in AHl this year.
  18. The Leafs had bright goalies in their system?
