Fudge. Just when souray was improving.
the defense has really reeked last few days. all the markov rah rah bandwagon has died off now i take it..
flippin hell, montreal's gotta play komisarek and let him develop. jeez we have barely any solid bluechip defensive prospects as is. and the one we've got the powers that be won't play. Great, and then we wonder why so many Habs draft picks don't work out?
Couldn't agree more

All I know is that everytime I go to the TSN, RDS or whatever sportspage it may be, I just hold my breath anticipating something has been done. Anyone else feel the same way?

KNOCKERS - THE DARKNESS
Off their new album. For those of us who appreciate rock'n'roll bands who still ROCK with cigarettes and alcohol. No bottled water allowed on stage with this English band.

I have to object to Bonk being "protected" by some of the HW members.
First of all, he's a veteran who very well knows better than to clear the puck, cross ice, from within his own end ESPECIALLY when it's a tied game, away from home, and you've been outplayed badly for most of the game. Furthermore, for almost $3M a year, he should never be making those mistakes. What he should be doing is shutting down the other team's power play, using his big size consistently and be on pace for 20-25 goals this year.
And the reaction on the bench said it all. Instead of getting fired up and going out and running over a couple of the Avalanche players with his next shift - he was totally invisible and then he sulked on the bench. From where I'm from, that is the sure sign of a LOSER. He's dead weight, can't be traded and probably has no leadership skill in the dressing room.
The thing that pisses me off the most is that next year is a contract year for him. And he'll probably play his heart out NEXT YEAR out so he can get as much money as he can. Someone like Koivu or Souray should take that guy out in the parking lot after the game and just wail on him verbally. Someone like that should realize that if it wasn't for hockey, he'd be shovelling sh*t back in the Czech Republic for a living. He could at least show some heart.

i am doubtful as to the theory that the conservatives must be better...
I might be going out on a limb here but you must keep in mind that Canadian and American conservatives are not alike. Our conservative party here would have views much like Hillary Clinton down there.

Huet is to start wednesday against the Avalanche. I think he deserves it and I think Julien is trying to send a message, either perform or sit.
Furthermore, the trio of Dags, Ribs and Theo have gone under some hard times lately with benchings and now with Dags being sent down. I think Julien is making the right move by breaking up that group because I feel that they were bringing each other down both on and off the ice.
When asked by reporters about not playing on wed, it seems that Theo got visibly upset. I think that's great. Personally, I always played better when I was a little angry. Maybe when you make that much money per year in a guaranteed contract, it takes a little bruising on the ego before you get real incentive to play. I guess we'll see how #60 responds.

Ladies and Gentleman, our GM!
BOB GAINEY
Edit: I am still chuckling pretty good.
We should convince Bob to start wearing a wig.

I believe the subtext of the Strachan article reads as:
I'm a bald, short man with a small dong. Furthermore, my hockey team sucks and I am jealous of your lengthy list of Stanley Cups. Thankyou for reading my pointless article.
Sincerely,
Little Man

The next few days will be very interesting in terms of front office movement. There should be lots to discuss and I don't think the team will have the same lineup for much longer.
-
Looks like Riblets and Dags are sitting again........ Bliss.
-
Good link. Would've been nice if Saku kicked Ribs' ass in front of everyone though.
-
Good article. If a spade is a spade, call it a spade.
Ribs would rather be a quebecois mini-celebrity than an international hockey player and it's all too obvious. I think a guy like him needs to be shipped as far away from Quebec as possible to realize that he's just a mediocre hockey player at best (until he's willing to show some drive).

I think us Habsworld junkies have developed some fixation with Colorado and Chicago. Every thread about a trade seems to mention them.
I agree with Chicago. They are going to be swimming in good D. Between Aucoin, Seabrook and Cam Barker (next year) they're going to look really good.
No one has mentioned another marquis D-man who I think is having an off year, as such he may be a little easier to pluck. Jay Bouwmeester anyone?

I've never heard anything about Mogilny being bad in the locker room...ever.
Have I missed something?
I'm referring to his passion for the game, or complete absence thereof.

Sweet Jesus! Atlanta is tied with us for the last playoff spot. If that doesn't light a fire in the minds of the Habs, I don't think anything will.
-
We have enough bad apples in the dressing room as is. No need to add another one. Especially an overpaid bad apple.

To you from failing hands we throw the torch...
...but it sails over Théo's blocker and into the net.

amateurs in a professional league... this can't last

canada wins against finland - canada's player of the game.... mark staal
Hmmm..... I guess this would be a bad time to mention that Staal (future marquis defenceman) was available in the draft to us.
-
Don't worry.. they'll end up trading him for a washed up veteran...
Hey I hear Steve Thomas is still available!

As much as I want to see the Juniors take the tournament, the thought of having that Pogge in a Leafs uniform in a year or two is a little unsettling. He may be as good as he looks.

QUOTE(gohabsgo252006 @ Jan 3 2006, 08:45 PM)
bye bye Ribeiro and Dags.....take them out and all of a sudden the team is showing effort and taking it to the other side
We can get some good pucks for them, so the guys can keep up the practice and keep playing like this
i wonder what will be the outcome of all of this? by that i mean i wonder what will happen when we see the bulldog pups playing so well and with gusto while r & d are being benched
Maybe Ribeiro (175lbs) will discover the weight room with all his new free time. Same thing for Dagenais.

In a rare show of approval by a die hard HABS fan, Julien looks like a MAD GENIUS right now. Props to him and whatever he said in that dressing room during the intermission!!!!!!!

Carbo To Be Head-coach At The Start Of Next Season
in Habs & Hockey Talk

Guy! Guy! Guy!
This is a very exciting time. In retrospect, this team has lots of talent to offer and Julien just couldn't get the team to meld properly. Having Carbo, Gainey and Jarvis behind the bench combines some of the most intelligent players to ever play the game behind a single bench.
I'm predicting major improvements in faceoff % and the penalty kill. Hopefully the PP can pick it up too. I am now very much looking forward to the second half of the season. GO HABS GO.
